Well I had a multitude of reasons not to feel sad when my grandmother was pronounced dead. I also don't think that makes me (or any of you, for that matter) a particularly bad or calloused person.

I am of the opinion that dead persons appreciate nothing. Something to do with being dead. And then we get rid of them in some of the least environmentally friendly ways we can... :facepalm:

A box, often with a layer of concrete, with cured wood so that it won't decay any time soon. And nobody is even going to look at it...
I can see why people would object to body piles, but there are simpler ways of doing it.

iirc lots of the boxes have a lining of concrete between the wood. Perhaps that is rare, and simply concrete vaults are more common? Don't remember.

they do the concrete thing in case of a zombie apocalypse. i didn't feel sad at all at my grandpa's funeral. which i find weird because i was very close with him. i did feel sad at my tata's (other grandpa's) funeral though, but i think that was mostly guilt for not knowing him better

Grave robbers, maybe. Not sure if I am mistaken about that though. I don't remember the source, so that is a bad sign as to its credibility.
