"Rockstar cloud servers are currently unavailable blah blah blah" finally got on and my stats were wiped, thinking it was wrong i re-launched the game to find i couldn't get back in again, funny thing is, the cloud cant be unavailable as other people are still online on it >.<

well why not :D i rember the time i used to have hackintos kexts drivers very dificult to find for some laptops :D ahh i like to have multiple OS on a computer as a VMWARE or as a normal OS in diferent partion on the disk :)

Well if you plan to use both OS seriously, then yeah you want to be able to boot directly into them rather than run a VM (unless this was a server... but this is a laptop hehehe).
