that set is kinda ecchi DA XD
but its good :)
Also need to parry earlier rather than later, or you get the damage (is normally how things go wrong anyways. Hit boxes aren't quite as defined it seems.
No, the Man Eaters are a boss in Demon's Souls, and the fight is set up very similar to the gargoyle fight (there are two of them, and the second one doesn't come right away). They are super fast, super strong giant things with snake tails, and instead of fire they have some stronger magic. The area to fight them is longer, but a whole lot more narrow.
Magic is also kind of OP in Dark (well I'd sooner say pyro is... magic sucks for most of the game until you can get the dark stuff), but way more so in Demon's Souls. Enemies tend to have way lower magic defense, so even weapons with split magic/physical damage can hit for tons (and there is a place to get one very close to the start of the game, and it remains awesome for a large portion of the game). There are also ways to regen your magic, so you don't need to worry about running out of it nearly as much. There is also the fact that, with magic, it is possible to cheese most bosses to death, by finding a spot they can't hit you and keep shooting them until they die.
Night guys
KOS nice set, I kinda like this one better
You can actually parry a good deal of the enemies, but a greater proportion of them may kill you if you miss. That will be odd, considering I parry when the enemies have thrusted/slam/swing their weapons
Come at me then maneaters
I don't like magic due to "long range" things, but maybe I'll use a magic enhancement (when I play the game XD)
Wait, regen magic? Not like dark then?
You can actually parry a good deal of the enemies, but a greater proportion of them may kill you if you miss.
Since I'm doing a strength build now, I'm wondering how terrible I'll find the maneaters. If I can stagger them, they might not be too bad?
Yeah I agree. Magicking from a distance often feels pretty cheap, but it can be fun sometimes. You have a magic bar, so different moves take different amounts (I think this is better than Dark Souls). You can get a ring that slowly regens it, and if you pick up a crescent weapon, that will also slowly regen it, to the point where you can use some of the cheap moves like Soul Arrow (5mp) or fire ball (9mp) all the time.
Never seen an enemy that can 1 hit you if you miss a parry in dark >_>
Is the general strategy for the maneaters long range? That sucks
So.. we can use ANY magic that we have as long as we have mp?
There are a few that can probably one-hit you unless you have ridiculous HP and armor on. Hmm maneaters is more of a mid range to close range thing. They have a move that covers ground really fast, and if they just start flying around spamming magic (think moonlight butterfly on crack, and there are probably two of them) there isn't a whole lot you can do.
You still have attunement slots equivalent (one for magic and one for faith, so you can have some of each), but then yes you can use as much as you want. It is a bonus that what is essentially the best catalyst lets you use both miracles and spells, so you don't need to be switching all the time. But then again, some of the more powerful spells can take a lot of MP (say, 100) so if you use them you either need to use items afterwards or hold off on magic for a while.
For example: Second Chance takes 100 I believe, and it is a move that revives you with 50% HP if you die (which is perhaps less awesome than it sounds, even if it is still awesome. It is instant, so if you are in the middle of a combo you will still die).
You mean the stone armor? That is a pretty ridiculous set if you get it right near the start. I like to get that and then just stand there and laugh at the Capra.I did use... what's that guy... the one that has rock armor and you can find him if you go down the spiral tower near the game in dark, that guy's armor so I guess.. :p
Damn, handy to have some magic on then
Only one for spell and one for miracle? I guess they toned it down in dark XD
