Uchigatana is AWESOME in Dark Souls (so is the great scythe), but I've never used it much in Demon's Souls (which I am now playing, and finding the bastard sword to be too slow for its damage output).

I've done the same in the past. I've done just about every possible build in Dark Souls, but I haven't done that many different ones in Demon's Souls so I went back to it... man Dark Souls was easy compared to Demon's Souls.

Yeah. You may have come across it already, but when making compound words in Japanese, you will often give the first moji to the second word its stronger sound (so in this case ka becomes ga).

The atmosphere of the game is absolutely fantastic. Dark Souls wasn't able to bring in anywhere near the same level of desperation and gloom of the people living in the nexus. However, I would say that Dark Souls is a whole lot more fun, because even with all its problems, they refined a lot of the little things that make Demon's Souls so frustrating: lots of deaths that seem completely unfair, like today when I perfectly parried a guy, he staggered and everything, and my HP went from 100% to 0%. While I was parrying a really strong attack... if you are successful it doesn't make sense if you die... XD And the game in general is just far harder, much more in the vein of "screw up once and you die". Made worse by the fact that it is a decent trek to most bosses.

Parrying is still a viable option (I do it pretty much to anything that can be perried), but the window is probably a bit smaller, you will often still get some damage, and missing leaves you wide open and you tend to get extra damage.

Beware of Man Eaters. The fight is very similar to the gargoyle fight in Dark Souls, except... tears. Flamelurker is a pretty awesome boss, and pretty hard (if you don't glitch him out).

Note that if you want the game to be easier, magic is pretty OP.
