Well they are many ways to adjust renders, but you should only adjust it they way you see fit.

Meaning adjust to match your sig theme.

i like using signature 500 x 200 max i can't do well with more pixel

also i can't render well i prefer modifying the original image cut the image to preferred dimension and add effects

Yes i know my teach told me of some ways to do renders but i am not good at it. i prefer to find an already png rendered character and use it that cut the image by my self!

Pre-rendered makes your life easier, but sometimes png images aren't readily available
