Isn't it less expensive to just eat it?

@crammy: now? are you playing?

Maybe I should quit mafia games. I have a strong desire for things to make sense, and I seem to be the only one. It is also perhaps far too much pressure to put on a game host. XD

It is pretty difficult to make decisions in a game based on deduction but set in a world where things are not only counter-intuitive but also do not correspond with how one perceives things.

Can be frustrating sometimes. But it can also be fun.

It has to be set up slightly like that, otherwise we would need somewhat realistic investigations and things might take weeks (in real discussion/searching time) to get anywhere. Also things like limits on how many false leads you can have (no perfect crimes allowed). But yes, I find it hard to make much ground in a game where things are set up to be fundamentally wrong. I have no qualms with a magic train that uses instantaneous acceleration, though. :P

It can be fun at times, but I often find myself trying to explain to people why things don't work more often than I do actually playing the game at all (and it can get really annoying when you have a choice few people who believe they have some kind of "righteous correctness" in themselves, and they turn out to be the least rational people, closed to discussion XD). :P

@sam I mostly just died :D I recall doing some of it though...

I don't mean to offend anyone, but one cannot expect everybody to have in their heads a working knowledge of how things work and why they do. There can be discussions at great length about Psychology or Physics or anything else for that matter, but expecting the setting of a game to work like how the real world does is a bit too much.

Such discussions are, of course, interesting reads.

Hmm yes... well magic changes stuff... But were not even sure if supernatural powers were even involved here... except for that crystallized blood but thats the only piece that points to powers being involved and people dont seem to believe so... oh well...

Was also questioning everything quite a bit earlier as well xD Various little things...

Yes precisely. There are too many burdensome details that you can't expect players/hosts to play by, or even be aware of. In general it is best to set low expectations for things like this. You will probably also notice that I am not super great at rationality myself. :P
