Alright. I have to go to bed now for work in the morning...and I'm wide awake...

I just read something and it pretty much came to me as a shock that you can practice writing something before you actually write it.

Now it makes sense why Worm was so good, apparently the guy had been writing stories set in his universe for like 10 years before he started the one he would actually finish (Worm).

I have no idea why this never occurred to me, and I would have probably been way more productive when I was writing as a kid if I realized I could just... start over from a new perspective whenever I wanted... XD

Hmm... dun think two hours passed yet ;p I wanna sleep though.. =w= Dunno why im tired...

You mean just create a general universe and then make stories with it?

Hihi coins~

Yeah. I kind of had 2 or 3 main universes I imagined when I was a kid, but I never wanted to write much about them until I was better at writing. It just didn't click until now that to make a really well-planned story, you could do it by practicing by writing about all the different characters. The examples I'm reading now (he posted much of his old work) also show how he slowly meandered around looking for what makes the protagonist he wants/wanted. Kind of interesting that apparently just about the only big character in one of these sub-stories that didn't make it into Worm was his original main character from when he started writing about the universe. :P
I'm also not sure if he ever intended for Worm to be "the big one" or not, or if it was just him getting such a large following on it that compelled him to finish. Sounds like a lot of parts were made a lot easier because he had basically written them before, even. :)

Lol hmm... sort of feels like the randomness im writing in the millions thread =w= Though thats only really random thoughts on a magical universe... but im sort of using it as a basis for other stories im writing so it shouldnt be too hard to connect them all...~

So basically, just get started, and things will flow from there.

Exactly. But I knew to do that as a kid, but applied differently: I mostly just wrote random stories to 'get better' rather than focusing on what I actually wanted to write about, because I didn't want to do it poorly for the things I actually cared for. :P
Most of my stories stopped pretty quickly because they got boring, because I didn't care about them all that much.

Probably not. If I'm going to develop any of my interests over the next while it should be programming. It's both enjoyable and should make my life a lot easier.

Well I'm to bed. Goodnight ASF :sleepmoon:
