The Dangan Ronpa theme!
Although lots of stuff was taken from there, there are also lots of differences…
This type of the game REALLY NEEDS some other communication source (I suggest skype (it's chat rooms will REALLY help a lot…)) since I'll more or less have to PM each player on every phase… Players should also be active enough to visit the game at least once a day (skype will also help a lot here)… I also think I might need someone's help co-hosting…
X players have been kidnapped and locked in some unknown place.
Most of the players are serial (or simple) murderers whose identities aren't known. They are given their tools which they use to kill people. Tools they use for murders and their personal information are thought up by the player but nicknames they are known by are based on killing methods and given either by me, them or detectives (whoever gives the best one)…
Few of the players who don't want to be murderers but detectives instead and PMed me are made into detectives. They are given their documents which collect information about murderers which contains nicknames, methods of killing and maybe some other info (faces and names are of course unknown), but they have no weapons. Although that doesn't mean they can't kill other players ;p
And again detective's personal information is decided by them…
Detectives are unknown to murderers and don't know who the other detectives are... Although its not forbidden to try and find out…
At each phase of the game players are allowed to move around the place… Here are the phases: Morning (6am-12am), Day (12am-5pm), Evening (5pm-10pm), Night 1st half (10pm-2am), Night 2nd half (2am-6am). Decisions for phases can be decided beforehand, but… You know… There are always unexpected turns of events… ;p
Players are able to talk to each other about the in-game matters in details only if they are in the same room and only through me. (skype's chat rooms help a lot here…) And of course, they aren't allowed to show any kind of proof such as screenshots or copy-pasting/quoting host's lines…
Now to the main point… Murders… Yes… There can't be a MG without that one point… There are lots of ways to kill other players… Go to the same room they are in and just kill him, call them out somewhere by some sort of note and kill them there, set a trap in a location and wait for someone to get killed with it, hide in a location until someone comes and kill them, try to poison their food, etc, etc, etc… Although be careful since you never know if you succeed…
But all in all, in order to kill someone you have to write complete details on how you are gonna do that and the more convincing your method is, the higher the chance of your success…
Innovations!
Investigation and Trial system!
Once the corpse is located by 3 or more players the investigation phase begins. During the investigation phase, players will have to investigate the crime scene and other locations for clues on who was the culprit… Why? Because there is going be a trial afterwards of course! Investigation phase lasts until the end of the next phase. (for example: corpse found at Day phase, investigation lasts until the end of the Evening phase) And when it ends, Trial phase begins.
During the trial phase players will have to guess who the culprit was based on the clues they have. If most of the players vote for the right culprit then that culprit gets executed. If most of players vote for the wrong one then the true culprit lives and a random person from those who voted wrong gets executed. Votes are all done by PMs so other players do not know who you voted for… Afterwards game continues from the next phase.
Point system!
In this MG you get points for almost every right action you do… If you get the culprit's name right and he is executed you get points. If you are the culprit and you aren't executed you get points. There are other ways to earn points but I'll keep them hidden for now.
Points? Why earn points? What to use them on? Because of course there are ways to spend these points! Need a weapon? Points! Need a clue? Points! Need food? Points! Need meds? Points! Need advice? Points! Need an upgrade? Points! Need to check if he is a culprit? Points! Need to kill someone? Points! Want out of the game? Points! Need a help from viewers? Points! Wait… Who the hell are viewers?
Viewers system!
Want to join the game but are too late for player registration? Want to join the game but too lazy to actually play? Want to join the game but just don't have enough time to actively participate? Not a problem! Become a viewer! Viewers are able to request any information on any location or player from me and basically just enjoy the show while knowing every single detail… Of course its prohibited for a viewer to contact a player unless player pays points and makes a contact with viewer. Viewers are basically just watchers who enjoy the show, but… They are also able to vote at trial… Their votes don't affect the result (who gets most of the votes) but every player is able to see who viewers voted for… When viewers vote they are able to leave a single comment that might have a single clue or a lie (depends on who viewer wants to help), so players should decide whether to trust them or not themselves… ;p After each phase viewers also get to rate players to give them points. Rating after trial phase doubles the amount of points given.
But! Only trustworthy members of ASF get a right to become viewers:
1. Member must have at least 100+ posts!
2. I guess that’s it? I doubt anyone would want to waste 100+ minutes of their time just to get some points…
3. Although depending on their answers, some members who registered after game may not be allowed…
I'm thinking of allowing players to become viewers after some time passes since their death…
Punishment!
Not really an innovation but I'll punish all bad viewers and players who break the rules… Punishments are going to be different…
