With agressive hackers these days, I'm so glad I have a password manager installed that randomizes my password on every site. Do you guys have any password managers too?
What could be their motive behind the attack?
It may have something to do with their latest lineup. Do you think the hacker protests the new genre's planned for release? a.k.a. the Yaoi and Otome game that MG's gonna release. Or it's just a shamefest of some sort.
MangaGamer had their database compromised earlier today and now it has been posted online. The passwords are hashed and unsalted, so if you have an MG account you're one step away from having your password posted online for all to see. You should change your MG password at every site you use it on. No CC information was stolen as MG doesn't handle that themselves.
A reminder that this shit is happening all the time, even with companies most people would think are secure, such as Sony. Use a different, secure password at every site if possible. -dk382
