I'm having trouble installing the game.
I managed to go all the way to Disc 2, until the installation ask for Disc 3.

Disc 1 and 2 have .bin and .cue format but Disc 3 got .img and .sub format.
Is it suppose to be like that?

Some tips/help would be much appreciate.
Also, about the patch. Do I need to change my PC format from Japanese back to English in order for it to work?

Yes, it's supposed to be that way. Just mount the ccd file and it should work. I'm not sure about the locale settings, but I doubt you'd have to change it - simply try with the Japanese ones first and if it works, fine. If not you can still change to English and try again. ;)

If for some reason you can't mount the ccd file change the disc name of the last one to FateDisc3.Alpha.img and use the cue sheet.

Thanks for the tips, but unfortunately nothing works.

I've tried use the .cue, .img, .ccd and even .sub.

I got this message when I tried .cue format for Disc3

and this message when I used the FateDisc3.Alpha.img format

And since I can't read Kanji, I don't really know what the problem is.

Got anymore ideas that I could try?
BTW, how did you managed to install the game?

I thought that you had to install Fate/Stay Night via the patch from Mirror Moon. Try installing it with that patch (without installing Fate/Stay Night).

What xyzapy said. I executed the patch, let it run and changed discs when asked for.

Exactly what you said, you only need to run the patch. Here are the instructions from Mirror Moon:

How do I install the game?

Put the F/SN DVD into your disc drive, or CD 1 of 3. You do not need to install the Japanese version of the game, so if it auto-runs an installer, exit it. Run the English patch. Follow the instructions. If you have Realta Nua and want to install the voices, check the voice patch box. Otherwise, don't check it. When it asks you to point the installer at your copy of F/SN, do so - browse, click the DVD drive where your disc is. Eventually, it'll finish and you can run Fate/Stay Night. In English. No need for Applocale. :)
If you get this blue screen with random text upon running the game, set 'Language for Non-Unicode Programs' to Japanese. In Windows XP, that's in Control Panel -> Regional and Language Settings -> 3rd tab. In Vista/Mojave (lol), that's the 4th tab.

Unfortunately, I don't know how MagicISO works, so I can't help you with that. But when it asks for a CD, you mount either the cue or the ccd file. If MagicISO cannot mount the ccd file then you are using what corocoro called a 'crappy emulation software'. In that case, rename the FateDisc3.Alpha.img file to FateDisc3.Alpha.cue and try to mount that file. If that didn't help at all, maybe you have to use an alternative program: Daemon Tools.


Edit: Hm? What were the original files for CD3? My files (from a torrent) are FateDisc3.ccd, FateDisc3.img, and FateDisc3.sub. I don't understand where exactly that Alpha from that img file comes from, but you could try to rename FateDisc3.Alpha.img to FateDisc3.img.

There's a cue file included if the ccd doesn't work - and that is pointing to said Alpha file. Of course, it's no real substitute, but should do in a pinch.

Apart from that everything is as xyzapy and I explained. Well, nearly - you have to rename the FateDisc3.img to FateDisc3.Alpha.img and then use the FateDisc3.cue file.
I haven't tried MagicISO personally, but I heard people are having trouble with it. The most common programs used for emulation are Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. I used to use the former, but switched to the later once there were no proper cracks any more.

Well, so far I've been using MagicISO, I haven't faces any problem that I notice, until now.
I've tried Alchohol 120% before but it's a lil' bit confusing to me.
I used Daemon before I switched to MagicISO, b'coz like you said, no proper crack to run Daemon.

I'll give a try on you guys' tips, but not now, coz it's already 6:00 am here and I haven't sleep yet but I need to prepare to go to work.

After I installed everything and hit the icon to play, 3 screens pop up-One is a small window that is blank and is white, another one is a slightly larger screen that is blue. I can type things in it but can't edit or delete them, and when I close that window, a small bar shows that has what looks like a play button, fast/fwd, and a red X in the corner. Any ideas on how to fix this? I used DAEMON tools to install, first starting the Eng Patch application, then opening DM Tools and mounting the disks it wanted one at a time through each time the set up asked for it. As for the Real Alta Nua DVD, it doesn't look like it's included in your files that you provided, so I was unable to install that. I wonder, is it even necessary to have it? Is that program a Eng DUB for the game, because if it is, I don't need it. I'm fine with Japanese. So anyways, if anyone can help me with this, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

That sounds like the problem I had when I had not set my system locale to Japanese - have you set yours to Japanese?

Change language settings to Japanese and reinstall, it should work fine then.

As for the Real Alta Nua DVD, it doesn't look like it's included in your files that you provided, so I was unable to install that.

Realta Nua is the PS2 all ages version that can be used to have the game voiced with the Seiyuus from the anime. Obviously this would be like the Utawarerumono voice patch - non of the adult scenes voiced and the whole thing a bit buggy. I might include it later as a separate download, for people that want to get a few GB more to have a partially voiced game.

Works fine for me.
I used the ccd file to mount the third disc - the installer made my PC lag, but after a few seconds it went on. My guess is that the third disc is heavily copy protected. Try using the ccd with Daemon Tools Lite.

I gave daemon tools a try on a virtual machine running Windows SP2. Same result. I'm going to assume that the files corrupted during the download.

I'll re-download and see what happens.
