[Mod Discussion] (Illusion) Honey♥Select (ハニーセレクト)

Lewton on HF made another update to to his text translations, so big thanks and credit to him for this! It should be noted that his update did not include my most recent fixes that were suggested by Dr. Yoshi, but the ones I made prior to his help. Thus, I've included both my slightly tinkered versions of the CharMaker.20 & RandomSearchScene.21 text files.

Oops, almost forgot! Here are Lewton's personal update notes from his HF post:

Update for text translation:
- Merge all the recent text translation updates. I hope I did not miss anything. Thanks to all who helped and provided updates!
- Update clothes and items including todays Illusion patch.
- Small fixes / missing translations in maker.

I just wanted you to know I appreciate you for this.

Is there a way to reset the stats, like beginning from zero? Because i've downloaded some characters posted by other people but comes with their stats already, like if they played sometimes and exported, so their stats came to my game, which i really haven't played that much. So i've got lot of achievements without playing, so how can i reset this, if its possible?
I had the same problem with some of my SBPR converted characters (in-game conversion leaves a lot to be desired - what a mess!) showing up as slaves. Start with one of the (unplayed) sample characters, use Load Appearance and Load Clothing instead of Load All from your desired character and you can save them with a clean slate. Just don't forget to change the name and traits before saving.

i tried to port my characters from SBPR but the game don't recognize them, so i took some screenshots of their adjustment numbers and recreated some of them in HS manually. to make them look more like they where in sbpr i recommend that you use the A-1 or A-3 Facial Types and adjust manually their mouths because lips in this game are thicker than SBPR

Did the first port. AG3 beach map. Very weird textures. Portion of map fades out. Skydome very weird and outdated. That's way I miss SBPR. Colors are are strange. I will wait till Christmas because I remember Illusion released SBPR patches till holidays season so I am expecting same treatment with HS. :XD:

@Saeki
Try to port girls with default hairs. Because the import failing due to hair mods.

Thank you so much Alexae. By the way, is SkinTexMod possible in HS? I fear it's not, but this game needs higher quality skins pretty badly.
I believe someone is working on that, Gil. (Hi-res normals, etc.) I believe it's... Eh... Shit, I'm terrible with names, lol! Someone around here who's also a HF user, anyway, heh heh.

Hey, Im having trouble getting the english translations working correctly. Does applocale have anything to do with it, because im not using it when i run the game.. I downloaded the three translation files and extracted them into my games folder and overwrite all of the files, but the game is partially translated. The main menu and story mode options are still in japanese. Only the character creator is in english.

it can be ported over, would people be interested in that still?

Man, let me tell you something, in case you're not fully aware of it:

Your SkinTexMod basically made PlayClub the 3d game with better skins out there. People built on top of your work, because you made it so easy to insert custom skins on the models. This encouraged creators who are not so savy in file handling, but are good on the image side of things. In time, incredibly detailed skins were published. Things like the japanese Beat series which is a ridiculous detailed set of 4k skins with pores & veins. Or tattoos like the Saeki ones, in their full glorious resolution. It was all thanks to you, you freaking golden god.

So yeah, it's not that people will be interested, you would be actually saving this game of it's major flaw, low-res skins, giving it a platform on which to build a rich library of high-res skins, easy to use. It's probably what this game needs more right now.

Stampar and Belgar17 have updated their SBX Uncensor! Go grab it on HF, though hopefully it's uploaded here, sometime:

Here are the update notes:

0.6 - Test release 2 notes:

- Fixed the reported "missing poly" in the anus.
- Fixed the artifact that was appearing in the anus when spreading legs.
- Overall texture improvements for less seams and less pixelation.
- Included new HI-res normal maps.
- Texture colour was restored to vanilla.
- All vanilla pubic hair patterns were reubicated.

Thanks for the update, guys, appreciate it!

*Update*
- Btw, new translation update from Lewton over on HF! Thanks again, Lewton!

Updated text translation:
- Merge changes from DillDoe.
- Cleanup of studio items translations and renamed files for studio.
- Moved names and personality translations into Common.txt.
- Renamed Tsundere_ADV.16.txt and Choices_ADV.16.txt.
- Added missing translation for H Positions.
- Other stuff I forgot..

Note: You should delete Plugins\UITranslation\HoneySelect\Text and Plugins\UIT
ranslation\HoneyStudio\Text before copying the new translation.
(Otherwise you would get conflicts with the old renamed files still lying around.)

Ill port it over then, Might have something by next week.

You probably know this already, but just to clarify: normals are, let's say, the shadows the skin produces when hit by the light. Muscle skins are normal maps, for instance. The surface skins are a different file from this, and can be mixed and matched freely.
I saw the 4k normals by plasticmind, I believe? They were pretty good. I have them. But the main problem stands.

SkintexMod is a platform to insert skin files in the models in real time. The actual files themselves are another matter entirely. It's not that it plays well with other ppl's work, it actually enables it. So skin masters like Saeki and Plasticmind can work freely on their stuff without worrying on the method to implement it in the game. This would be a true blessing for HS.

Don't know if it's going to be smooth sailing though, because PC had defaults set at 4096x4096, and HS has them at 1024x1024.

I must admit that the 4096x4096 textures were probably overkill. They should be made at 4096x4096 and then reduced in size for the game.
Posers can use whatever size they want, but you eat up a lot of memory in that way.

it's very true indeed, i'm bad with things that need modeling (cant understand metasequoia/blender at all), i'm actually decent only at texture editing, i was motivated to mod thanks to alexae

undoubtfully, 4096 resolution gives you room to make stunning details, BUT, it's HEAVY. on sbpr made the main game run worse than it already was, i don't think it's viable to use 4096 in HS due to performance matters and compatibility with other people work, but 2048 would be very interesting. also, this game has a very nice pack of shaders, even on 1024 the lack of resolution will be less noticeable, i think

You only have one girl model in the main game at any given item, at least in HS. In PC you have 3p and group action, but at any rate... nothing a medium-tier PC cannot handle easily. Hell, I was able to take this pic with my old rig. You have to consider what is actually more important in these types of games than skin quality.

I understand they had to downgrade it a notch for SBPR with all the free roaming stuff, and the possibility of many models on screen at the same time. But in HS 1024x skins make no goddamned sense. Imho. Especially considering how well PC runs and looks.

i think 2048 would be best, since there's people with low end machines too that'll want to use our mods, myself included, i don't run this game very well with some stuff turned on

I have to agree. SBPR was a slideshow for me at best, so I never got into it. I'm not convinced that larger textures (not resolution) make that big of a difference in quality, though they do in gameplay. I'm mostly interested in posers, so this doesn't make as much difference to me. :)

I agree with the 2048 res sentiment. Hell, getting that higher-res subdermic patch for SBPR's skins was a great quality jump, which is kinda what the new SBX uncensor reminds me of.

Welp, considering models have a fixed size, the higher the texture size, the higher the resolution. It is a very significant quality jump from 2048 (SBPR) to 4096 (PC). A literal world of detail. Ofc, I'm an advocate for the highest quality posible. This is modding after all. Gotta aim for the best result. Ideally, a system that could use any multiple would be prefered. Don't know if that's possible. We're in the expert hands of Alexae, at any rate.

That newest texture update in the SBX, btw, does not seem to have an impact on the in-game tattoos (they show up correctly), so I'm not quite sure why they aren't good enough?
Much, much better quality, IMHO.

Agree with 4096x4096 skins. I really like the skin textures in PC. Reminds me of some of the best Skyrim mods, which have some of the most gorgeous skin textures in PC gaming :)

Does anyone know which asset file contains the main skin shader?.

hmmm, i don't know, but it's probably something relating to cf_m_base.unity3d x.x i'll search here too

Edit: i found some suspicious cf_t_detail_b_00 probably something related to body detail :x
