If its only for a hobby, maybe you should first get used to draw with the pencil and your hand. I think its easier that way. The only thing you need is; trust on your hand and on what you are doing becuase if not you will end up drawing that insecure lines all your life. Maybe a tablet will delete that insecure lines, or not, i dont really know cause i like the old school technique, but you have the knowledge, you only need practice.
If you are like me and tend to erase many times cause you are perfectionist what you can do is: the final work do it in ink and then trace it so its clean. Here you have and example:

Moreover, if you have problems with the eyes or something like that try to draw only faces, so you can concentrate on what you are doing wrong (its not an observation of your drawings, its a general idea....try first one step at a time, and then the whole drawing.
