Better yet, make your own background and stick renders on it. I have been using pre-made backgrounds when I started and I didn't want to take someone's work and add it to my own, so yeah. That's why most of my signature backgrounds are either one color or a gradient.

I'll think about what both Nero and Sam suggested.

So far, I just use what is given. If it has a background, I just adjust the color, add some of this, take out some of that, and voila... a sig. xD

It would be neat to be a judge and a contestant. Not likely to happen.

I rarely make sigs. If I make one, it'll be a great journey.

With your encouragement, I'll try to make something. As much as I like critiquing, making something will be more worthwhile.

My profile... let's see.

I tend to use pictures from Japanese sites or other foreign sites especially official sites for games or anime. Just adjust things here and there, and voila, I'm done. xD

The key is mostly find what is easy and pleasing on the eye. Put a little heart and I am sure you'll have many admirers. Works for just about anything from cooking to art to even business proposals. ^_~
