It depends. I think you can set the limitations to ban ubers/legendaries so only those with a total of 600 base stats can enter. That's how it was for the Pokemon championships.

I'll be getting all of them. 3 of my friends will be getting the game tomorrow so we'll just be trading back and forth till we get all 3 starters with each other. c:

Depending on which starter is slower, lets say grass for example, I'll pick the water starter last so that my rival picks the grass one which can easily be defeated by the fire starter that I originally planned to get.
