Tomorrow (November 19) will be the birthday of Kurumi Nukui, a female character from Tenshi no 3P!/Angel’s 3Piece! Kurumi is the sister of Kyō Nukui (CV: Yūki Inoue) and she was the opposite to Jun Gotō (CV: Yūko Ōno) because she opposed her brother’s relationship with Jun and Lien de Famille, which results to Kurumi being jealous of her brother. However, she had mended her problems with her brother when the former was comforted by the latter in the sixth episode. She is voiced by Rina Hidaka, one of my favorite female voice actresses. Advanced happy birthday, Kurumi!:) Also, today’s update will be dedicated to Ryōtarō Okiayu, whose birthday was yesterday (November 17) and Keisuke Kōmoto (November 18). Ryōtarō is the voice actor of Shinobu Minato, the father of Tomoka Minato (CV: Kana Hanazawa), from Ro-Kyu-Bu! while Keisuke is the voice actor of Shōma Akiyama from Hensuki: Are You Willing to Fall in Love with a Pervert, as Long as She’s a Cutie? For their hometowns, Ryōtaro comes from Kitakyushu, Fukuoka while Keisuke comes from Tsuyama, Okayama. Hopefully, they will make more progress on their voice acting career. Belated happy birthday, Ryōtarō, and happy birthday, Keisuke!:) Now, onto today’s update featuring Emiri and her friends!
In the previous update, Emiri Hiraki, Kurumi Aoyama and Yuzuki Yukimura had contemplated their future when they’re planning to build their own group that will represent for Emiri and her circle of friends. And now, it’s time for them to create their own group. So, today’s update will finally witness the formation of Ganetazuki. Ganetazuki will be the group that will represent for Emiri and her circle of friends and they have been resembled to Aqours from Love Live! Sunshine!! This group will not only represent for Emiri, but they’re also gonna be friends with the Bravehearts of Toyohashi. Also, they’re going to have a basketball match against Seishirō Shimoda and the Ōmihara Gakuen High School boys’ basketball team. Will Emiri and Ganetazuki proved that they’re building a good teamwork or Seishirō may spoil Ganetazuki's first day? The answer to this question will be revealed when you’ll read this update.;) So, without further ado, I give you the fourth chapter of “Emiri and the Bravehearts of Toyohashi”! It’s almost the beginning of new classes in Ōmihara Gakuen and it’s going to be a new beginning for Emiri and her close friends as she will create her new group that will serve as a group to gleam and shine for their future to be made.
It was afternoon at the home of Emiri where Emiri and her close friends have sat at the living room alongside Kurumi Aoyama, Yuzuki Yukimura and the others that have been closed to Emiri, Kurumi and Yuzuki. They were Natsuko Yonezawa, Takako Egawa, Kumiko Asakawa, Harumi Fukusawa, Yōko Komori and Chisa Maeda.
“The reason why we’re here is because we’ll be forming a brand new group that will represent our community that will give us pride, courage and honor” said Emiri.
“I believe that it’s going to be very big since you’re now a member of the Bravehearts of Toyohashi” said Kurumi.
“And everything will change in Toyohashi forever once we’ll represent our very own group to bless and shine for them” said Yuzuki.
“You got that right, girls!” said Emiri.
“Have you introduced them to us, Emiri-san?” asked Tomoyo.
“Oh! Silly me. I forgot to introduce them to you, Tomoyo-san” said Emiri before formally introduce her allies to her friends. “Everyone, these are my new friends that we’re going to assemble for our own group. Say your names and your section.”
“We got it!” said Kurumi, Yuzuki, Natsuko, Takako, Kumiko, Harumi, Yōko and Chisa as they’re going to introduce themselves.
“Kurumi Aoyama. Second year high school student.”
“Yuzuki Yukimura. Second year high school student.”
“Natsuko Yonezawa. First year high school student.”
“Takako Egawa. First year high school student.”
“Kumiko Asakawa. First year high school student.”
“Harumi Fukusawa. Third year high school student.”
“Yōko Komori. Third year high school student.”
“And Chisa Maeda. Third year high school student.”
“And these are my friends of mine. They were Tomoyo Matsukawa, Koharu Ōno, Sayaka Tanikawa, Itsuyo Nishizaki, Yuriko Shinozaki, Akihiro Mito, Shinya Akasaka, Hiroyasu Iwata and Taketoshi Hondo.”
“Hi!” said the close friends of Emiri.
“Hi!” said Kurumi, Yuzuki, Natsuko, Takako, Kumiko, Harumi, Yōko and Chisa.
“Wow! You girls are cool!” said Tomoyo.
“I can’t believe that they’re more beautiful that I have ever seen!” said Koharu.
“They’re surely good to see them smile!” said Sayaka.
“They even looked like Aqours!” said Akihiro.
“But with their difference based on their appearance!” said Shinya.
“That’s right, guys! These new friends will be teaming up with me to assemble our very own group, which I will name it ‘Ganetazuki’!” said Emiri. Ganetazuki comes from ‘ganetto’ from garnet in Japanese and ‘azuki-iro’ from maroon in Japanese.
“Ganetazuki. That sounds like a good name to me” said Natsuko.
“It’s great to represent the colors of our hometown” said Takako.
“Nothing can beat the colors with our own!” said Kumiko.
“Yep. You’re right about that, girls! And so, our goal is to shine like the other girl groups, which includes Aqours, the group that my friend Dia Kurosawa came from” said Emiri.
“Well, I’m hyped that we’ll be working together as a team!” said Harumi.
“Yeah! I can’t wait to see what you’re planning for our group to shine!” said Yōko.
“I hope that something is eccentric and fancier too!” said Chisa.
“Uh… I haven’t planned on that yet, Chisa-san, but fortunately, we’re going to do something for today” said Emiri.
“What today’s activity will be?” asked Kurumi.
“It’s going to be basketball” said Emiri.
“Basketball? I know that sport when we were in both elementary school and middle school days” said Kurumi.
“Yeah, that sport was very popular in Aichi, even in Shizuoka” said Yuzuki.
“That’s right, my friend. Emiri was good in playing basketball because she was always playing that sport with her other friends” said Tomoyo.
“Even with Harunobu and the other bravehearts too” said Koharu.
“Since then, Emiri had been interested in that sport, even though archery is her favorite sport” said Sayaka.
“Which was inherited by her father” said Itsuyo.
“Her father was always burning with his moves that won’t be stopped” said Yuriko.
“Wow! You had a great dad, Emiri! My father used to be working as a clerk in a city hall. He had been tough ever since college” said Natsuko.
“My father is a lifeguard. He had to guard the people in the beach” said Takako.
“My father was used to be a teacher because he teaches the students in our school. I wonder if he’ll end up being our adviser for this year” said Kumiko.
“Yeah, we better watch out at the start of our new school year, Kumiko!” said Kurumi.
“It’ll be different than you have seen in your middle school days, but I hope that you’ll be surprised when you make it on the first day of school” said Yuzuki.
“Yeah!” said Natsuko, Takako and Kumiko.
“Now, as I was saying, basketball is one of the popular sports in Toyohashi and in the entire Aichi Prefecture alongside baseball and soccer, but also there were individual sporting activities have been popular such as archery, swimming and cycling” said Emiri.
“Everyone knows that in Ōmihara Gakuen, they were some skilled athletes that played for that school’s basketball program. In the boys’ basketball team, they were good and athletic ones such as Keizō Sonoda, Hiroshi Horie, Tomoyuki Miyazawa and Shigeyoshi Miyauchi while notable members of the girls’ basketball team were Natsuki Imaizumi, Kyoko Miyamae, Tomiko Komori and Ayako Hayata” said Tomoyo.
“Since then, they were contending for the prefectural tournaments every year, but they weren’t able to reach it to the top after their successful finish so far was in the fourth round” said Akihiro.
“Fortunately, though, the Ōmihara Gakuen will still keep its confidence no matter what because they’re ready to be prospered like the past players did” said Shinya.
“That’s very nice. I never thought that their basketball program had been in a good shape since they have changed their system long time ago” said Harumi.
“It’s a matter of time that they’ll finally make it to the top as soon as they’re tough enough to defeat their opponents on the way” said Yōko.
“Once they see their eyes, they spark like they should be. They’ll bring the sparkles to burst without hesitation” said Chisa.
“Yeah, we agree” said Emiri, Tomoyo, Akihiro and Shinya.
“It’s going to be different this year because not only both Seishirō Shimoda and Harunobu Hoshikawa have been captain and ace respectively…” said Tomoyo.
“…but they’ll welcome their new faces once their season will begin!” said Shinya.
“Oh, can we see them?” asked Harumi.
“I wanna take a look for myself!” said Yōko.
“Yeah! I can’t wait to share it, Emiri-san!” said Chisa.
“Well, unfortunately, our leader Harunobu said that he didn’t reveal the new faces yet because there will be no training until the end of the month” said Emiri.
Harumi, Yōko and Chisa groan when Emiri said that there’s no training for the Ōmihara Gakuen High School boys’ basketball team. “Aw, man.”
“However, he said that he’ll announce it once they’ll recruit some new faces during the club registration week” said Emiri.
“Wow. What a relief” said Harumi.
“Al least that the announcement was not bad” said Yōko.
“Yeah, I agree” said Chisa.
“The club registration week will be held from April 19 to 23, which will be three weeks from now, so don’t be surprised to see them when they have found some new players to show up” said Akihiro.
“Oh, okay, we understand” said Harumi, Yōko and Chisa.
“What about the other sports?” asked Harumi.
“Are they good just like basketball?” addedly queried Yōko.
“Can they make it to the top too?” squealy asked Chisa.
“Yes, they do, but they’re very versatile with different kinds of skills that they have for them to be strong” said Sayaka.
“In volleyball, they were competing in the same level as the other schools in Toyohashi” said Koharu.
“In baseball, they have rebuilt their roster after losing about 9 senpais who were graduated recently” said Hiroyasu.
“In soccer, they look forward in making it to the quarterfinals after they did that 15 years ago” said Itsuyo.
“For the individual sports, some have achieved such as swimmers and badminton players” said Yuriko.
“Just like one of our good friends named Kojiro Takatsuka, who was very good in swimming with his eyes can gleam like a dolphin” said Taketoshi.
“Ah, I get it now!” said Harumi.
“That sounds like they’re good athletes to me” said Yōko.
“They can’t be stopped because they’re formidable and hustle too” said Chisa.
“Yeah!” said Koharu, Sayaka, Itsuyo, Yuriko, Hiroyasu and Taketoshi.
“We believe that your sharing is true, Emiri and friends. I know that they’re very competitive when it comes to competitions like the prefectural tournaments, but it seems that one day, they’ll find a light to win” said Natsuko.
“The sporting program of Ōmihara Gakuen have been developed for many years without losing the spirit of sportsmanship” said Takako.
“It’s very interesting to say that athletes have to be strong in order to reach their goal” said Kumiko.
“As soon as they’ll be going to the top, they’re going to succeed no matter what it takes” said Kurumi.
“Because their destiny is the hope that they won’t lost forever” said Yuzuki.
Emiri smiles on her face while speaking to her fellow friends. “I agree with that, girls. Of course, there’s going to be a hope that will make Ōmihara Gakuen more competitive and more serious on their season because it’s their time to shine.”
“Yeah!” said Kurumi, Yuzuki, Natsuko, Takako, Kumiko, Harumi, Yōko and Chisa.
“Now, we should find a good spot to play basketball. Do you have anything good to find a court like that?” said Emiri.
“Well, there’s a small basketball court that was located in Seishirō’s home where he trained there when he didn’t have a training” said Kurumi.
“Maybe we can pay him a visit and use his court for just an hour. How’s that sound?” said Yuzuki.
“That’s a good idea, Yuzuki-san!” said Emiri.
“Then, what are you waiting for? We should go Seishirō’s home to play basketball there!” said Yuzuki.
“Yeah!” said Emiri, her close friends and the members of Ganetazuki as they’re going to the home of Seishirō Shimoda to play basketball in that place’s basketball court.
At the home of Seishirō Shimoda, which is located in Futagawa, Emiri, her close friends and the members of Ganetazuki meet Seishirō Shimoda, a third year high school student from the Ōmihara Gakuen High School and the captain of the school’s boys’ basketball team.
“So, you must be Emiri Hiraki, the friend of Harunobu, right?” asked Seishirō.
“Yes, I am, Seishirō-senpai. I came here because I want to borrow your court for an hour” said Emiri.
“We came from Ganetazuki, the group that will be blessing for the Bravehearts of Toyohashi and our hometown” said Kurumi.
“Hopefully, you’ll accept our proposal to use your court for today” said Yuzuki.
“Well, I guess that I’m going to accept it, girls” said Seishirō.
“Hooray!” said Emiri and Kurumi and Yuzuki.
“Now that I allowed you to use my court, I’ll be happy to play with you because I haven’t seen you play basketball since the ball games tournament that we used in Ōmihara Gakuen” said Seishirō.
“Uh… you saw us playing basketball?” confused Emiri.
“Yep. I saw you and your classmates playing basketball against a group of students from a different section. I like you and Satomi playing like that, especially to Aki Kawashima too!” said Seishirō.
“Wow! I’m surprised about that, Seishirō-senpai. I really think that you’re observing one of my friends that have been part of the girls’ basketball team because Satomi was really a stealth shooter” said Emiri.
“Yep. That’s true, Emiri-san” said Seishirō.
“Are you going to call your friends to play?” asked Tomoyo.
“Uh… yes, I have. In fact, I have invited some of my close friends to come around just for the preparations for the opening day” said Seishirō while showing his fellow schoolmates, composed of Kenjirō Takayanagi, Junji Tamayama, Michihisa Takamori, Nobuo Hayasaka, Akio Kitamura and Shinjirō Fujita. They were all third year high school students from the Ōmihara Gakuen High School, but only Kenjirō, Junji, Nobuo and Akio were members of the school’s boys’ basketball team just like Seishirō.
“Oh! I see that you have friends too!” said Harumi.
“They’re brave and beautiful with their smiles won’t be bad at all!” said Yōko.
“It sounds like your friends are very compassionate because they follow you at all times” said Chisa.
“Yep. These friends were very nice to my fellow schoolmates in my class and my fellow teammates in my team. I hope that you’re going to see them in action once we’re on training” said Seishirō.
“Yes, we will, Seishirō-kun!” said Harumi, Yōko and Chisa.
“If I remember correctly, Seishirō-senpai, you must be taller than Harunobu. I can’t wait to see you grow one inch to another because you’re good enough to be flexible” said Akihiro.
“And you’re very famous in school as well!” said Shinya.
“That’s true, guys. I’m a small forward and power forward in my team, but when it comes to my appearance, I’m the top man in my class, which is section 3-3” said Seishirō.
“Whoa! That’s awesome!” said Akihiro and Shinya.
“You’re really looking good, Seishirō!” said Hiroyasu.
“Everyone knows that you’re very brave to make your friends feel comfortable to follow you” said Taketoshi.
“Yes, I am. I hope that you’re going to watch out for my team because we’ll be adding new members soon” said Seishirō.
“Sure, we will!” said Akihiro, Shinya, Hiroyasu and Taketoshi.
“Now, Emiri-san, I think that we should settle a friendly match between your group and my group to see which the two of us are good. Are you ready to challenge me?” said Seishirō.
“Why, yes, I am! I’m ready with my team!” said Emiri.
“Yeah, we’re friends of Emiri and we’re going to defeat you!” said the members of Ganetazuki.
“Then, let’s head into my court for this exhibition match! I’m not going to get easy on you!” said Seishirō.
“Okay!” said Emiri and the members of Ganetazuki.
Emiri, her close friends and the members of Ganetazuki have entered to the basketball court of the home of Seishirō, Seishirō and his friends would assemble their own team, which is composed of him, Kenjirō, Junji, Nobuo and Akio. On the other hand, Emiri had assembled her own team, composed of herself, Kurumi, Yuzuki, Natsuko and Kumiko.

“The rule for this is who makes 21 points wins the match. You’re okay with this?” said Seishirō.
“Yeah! I feel happy that you saw me playing during the ball games tournament, but I hope that you won’t slip up when I battle you” said Emiri.
“Okay, then. Suit yourself because this one will be better than nothing!” said Seishirō.
“You got it!” said Emiri.
Tomoyo would stand up to announce in front of both Team Shimoda and Ganetazuki. “I’m going to be the referee for this match. So, may the best team wins!”
“Okay!” said the members of Team Shimoda and Ganetazuki.
“Here we go!” said Tomoyo as she releases the ball from her hands, which triggers both Junji and Kurumi to jump together to see who the best between the two of them is. Junji tips the ball first, which the ball sends flying to the hands of Nobuo to get their possession first.
Nobuo would clash against Emiri in the free throw line as the former dribbles like he’s an athlete.
“Do you think that you can stop me?” asked Nobuo.
“Well, I haven’t seen you when you’re playing in a real game, but let’s see because I’m not hesitated to lose this clash” said Emiri.
“Okay, then” said Nobuo as he performs the crossover more on Emiri before going for the spin move. Emiri had to block Nobuo’s way before trying to intercept him with the defense. As the close friends of Emiri have cheered for her, which allows Emiri to go on a tight defense against Nobuo.
“How’s that, Nobuo-senpai? There’s no way you can get past me!” said Emiri.
“Shoot! I can’t believe that she’s looked like Aki Kawashima! I have to reverse this right now!” said Nobu as he steps back before passing the ball to Seishirō.
“Ah, no good! He’s passing the ball to Seishirō!” said Emiri.
Seishirō would perform the crossover move on Kumiko before going to shoot the ball with the finger roll move.
Yuzuki tries to block Seishirō’s finger roll move, but the latter was too fast to fake it before releasing the ball. “There’s no way you can block my shot!” The ball would drive into the basket to score the first two points for Team Shimoda [Team Shimoda 2, Ganetazuki 0]
“Wow! That guy was so fast!” said Harumi.
“I can’t believe that he can make easy shots like this!” said Yōko.
“I would expect to see him doing that shot, but he hasn’t reached his time to use a special move” said Chisa.
“Well, I hope that he will be pulling his tricks to make his opponents shocked, but in this matchup, I believe that Emiri isn’t afraid of it” said Takako.
“Yes, he was, Takako-san” said Harumi.
“I hope that she won’t be downed and out for sure” said Yōko.
“There’s no way she will be wiped out for just a second” said Chisa.
“Yeah” said Takako.
It was Ganetazuki’s turn to play their possession. Natsuko would clash against Kenjirō as the former performs the between the legs move on the latter before trying to do the accelerating drive to get past Kenjirō.
“I don’t want to let you get past me!” said Kenjirō.
“Oh, yeah? How about this?!” exclaimed Natsuko as she performs the fake drive to get past Kenjirō before passing the ball to Yuzuki. As Yuzuki shines her way by driving past Akio, she’s now heading to the paint and try to score for Ganetazuki, however, Seishirō comes out to block that shot.
“You can’t do this!” said Seishirō as he successfully blocks Yuzuki’s shot and the ball would send flying before being caught by Emiri. “What the?!”
“Emiri-san!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
“So, you came here to say your possession?” asked Seishirō.
“Yep. I don’t care if you want to hurt my friends with that shot, but I’m going to show you the real deal!” said Emiri as she runs in stealth before doing the between the legs move on Seishirō. Seishirō tries to stop Emiri’s pattern, but Emiri had nonetheless gained the upper hand by doing the behind the back move. Then, Emiri drives past Seishirō quickly.
“What?!” shouted Seishirō.
Everyone gasps in surprise when they see Emiri driving past Seishirō with her own drive. Seishirō turns around to see Emiri shooting the ball with the floater to tie the game. [Team Shimoda 2, Ganetazuki 2]
“Alright! Emiri makes the first two points for us!” said Takako.
“She’s always coming out in surprise!” said Tomoyo.
“I believe that she’s doing it like the ball games tournament” said Akihiro.
“Yep. She always performs in a beat to make sure that she’ll dazzle the way the others did” said Shinya.
“I’m so glad that she’s pulling it off! It made me shocked to see that drive and finish” said Harumi.
“Hopefully, she will help her team win” said Yōko.
“Because that’s what she’ll do to make her shine” said Chisa.
“Yeah!” said Takako and the close friends of Emiri.
The next possession comes when Kenjirō battles against Natsuko in the perimeter. When Kenjirō dazzles past Natsuko, he passes the ball to Akio, who came from the post. Akio would battle against Yuzuki for size.
“Let’s see if you’re worthy to stop this!” said Akio as he performs the behind the back move on Yuzuki, but Yuzuki wasn’t being fierce after all. Yuzuki would catch up to stop Akio from getting her way. Akio had slipped up before he’s trying to get into another direction, which allows Yuzuki getting the opportunity to steal the ball. However, Akio doesn’t want to have that happened as he performs the fake before trying to shoot the ball with the hook shot.
“He’s going to make that shot, Yuzuki!” said Kurumi.
“Oh no, you don’t!” said Yuzuki as he blocks the shot of Akio.
“Way to go, Yuzuki-san! You rock!” said Emiri, which makes Yuzuki smile. However, their celebration doesn’t last for a second when Seishirō grabs the ball quickly.
“The ball, Kumiko!” said Natsuko.
“Okay!” said Kumiko as she was able to intercept Seishirō by locking him down to prepare for a short close. Seishirō had to create a pattern to make his moves dazzle, but Kumiko is trying to stop Seishirō from doing it. When they go back and forth, Seishirō makes a getaway from doing the spin move before shooting the ball with the jump shot in the post and the ball drives to the basket. [Team Shimoda 4, Ganetazuki 2]
“That shot was so good” said Koharu.
“I can’t believe that he’s too strong” said Sayaka.
“A strong guy makes his way to score like he’s the boss” said Hiroyasu.
“I’m sure that he’s going to rally, but I have a feeling that Emiri has that too” said Itsuyo.
“Huh? How will you know?” asked Koharu.
“You’ll see what’s going to happen next” said Itsuyo.
“Oh, right” said Koharu.
“I had a strange feeling for it” said Sayaka.
“Yeah, me too” said Hiryoasu.
Natsuko dazzles past Kenjirō before passing the ball to Kumiko as Kumiko had to battle against Seishirō. Kumiko would step back from Seishirō, who was trying to get the ball from her. Then, Seishirō does the trick as he tips the ball from the hands of Kumiko, but Emiri was able to recover the ball.
“Huh?!” surprisingly said Seishirō.
“It’s that again!” said Kenjirō.
“I don’t mind if you’re going to use your tricks like this, Seishirō-san, but you don’t know that I have my mind to take you out” said Emiri.
“Well, then, I’m going to get it back right now!” said Seishirō as he’s going for the charge, but Emiri moves backward before dazzling in to perform the crossover move and the spin move on Seishirō.
“Whoa! What is this?!” shouted Akihiro.
“I don’t know, Akihiro-kun, but this sounds like Emiri doing the move that Natsumi did” said Tomoyo.
“Natsumi’s move?” strangely queried Shinya.
“I didn’t know that she is using that move quickly, Tomoyo” said Akihiro.
“Well, Emiri had to learn that move when she was watching one of Emiri’s games in the practice match against Jishukan High School” said Tomoyo while the scene changes to Emiri performing the jab step to power up her move in trying to get away from Seishirō. “Natsumi was very skilled shooter when it comes to her favorite spot, the paint, but as along as she’s from the outside, she had to make the combo move at the same time.” Emiri had to perform the combo move to get away from Seishirō, which she did before successfully taking out him with the dazzling drive.
“No one will expect to see that move even if someone is emulating that move” said Akihiro.
“Others have learned that move, but nonetheless, they paid it off” said Shinya. The scene changes to Emiri shooting the ball with the floater to tie the game again. [Team Shimoda 4, Ganetazuki 4]
“I can’t believe that she’s really looked like Natsumi-san” said Koharu.
“I would expect that she’s going to make that move if he wants to emulate the way Natsumi did” said Sayaka.
“Hopefully, this will give a good result for Emiri, but she had to help her teammates though” said Hiroyasu.
“Yeah, you’re right about that” said Tomoyo.
The next scene changes to Nobuo trying to get past Emiri, but the latter calls Yuzuki for the double team. Getting frightened from the double team, he passes the ball to Seishirō quickly before Seishirō had to drive past Kumiko with the quick drive. Then, Seishirō passes the ball to Junji, who successfully makes the shot with the clutch shot.
Ganetazuki would respond it by doing another strategy. Natsuko had to drive past Kenjirō before going to battle against Nobuo. Nobuo tries to grab the ball from Natsuko, but Natsuko was so fast that she gives him a mercy by doing the ankle breaker move on him. When Nobuo got stumbled to the ground, Natsuko would dash in and pass the ball to Yuzuki before shooting the ball with the pullup jumper.
Both teams would show their skills in different scenes such as Kenjirō doing the three-point shot and Emiri performing the between the legs move on two defenders, which were Seishirō and Akio. Then, Emiri would pass the ball to Yuzuki, who gets two points with the clutch shot. The next scene shows Emiri grabbing the ball from Nobuo before doing the fadeaway shot from the free throw line. Kenjirō had to do the bank shot after getting away from Natsuko while Kumiko does the finger roll move that Seishirō did earlier.
A few minutes later, Seishirō begins to make his special ability called the Stealth Play where he had to block any opponent’s shot from any direction. However, both Natsuko and Emiri have defended themselves from that ability as they do their own ability, based on Satomi’s style of play, which is the Eight Wings, a style of play that used to evade the effect of one opponent’s abilities through their mind. The match becomes intense after ten minutes where both teams have competed for the best between them. When it reaches the fifteenth minute, Team Shimoda is still leading, but by one point, with the score, 18-17.
“We can’t let them win, girls! We still have our guts to show up!” said Emiri.
“Yeah!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
“Now, let’s make sure that we will walk away with the win!” said Emiri.
“Okay!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
Natsuko performs the crossover move on Kenjirō before dashing him away with the drive. Then, she passes the ball to Yuzuki, who does the ball handling play. Yuzuki would play mind games on Akio by doing a trick that was used by Satomi. Yuzuki performs the stealth move before moving through the right, so that Akio can’t catch her.
Yuzuki would end up going to the paint before doing the up and under move. However, Seishirō comes out once again to block that shot.
“Get that shot out of here! You don’t have the techniques to use that move!” said Seishirō while Yuzuki gasps in horror.
“No! He blocks Yuzuki’s shot!” said Chisa.
“You got to be kidding me!” said Harumi.
“There’s no way he had to do that move to stop any move that is related to Satomi” said Yuriko.
“Yeah, that guy is too fast to block any shot that came a different direction” said Taketoshi.
“I hope that it’s all come to an end” said Yōko.
“Yeah” said Yuriko, Taketoshi, Haru and Chisa, who were all worrying.
However, Kurumi grabs the ball in a heave before shouting at Seishirō. “It’s not over yet!”
“What?!” shouted Seishirō.
“We’re not going to give up!” said Natsuko.
“And we’re going to stop you from your ability!” said Emiri.
“Hmph! It doesn’t matter, girls! My team will gonna win!” said Seishirō as he charges in, trying to steal the ball from Kurumi, but Kurumi swiftly gets out of it with a dodge.
“You think so?” asked Kurumi while Seishirō was speechless. Kurumi would pass the ball to Natsuko, who came from the outside. After which, Natsuko would shoot the ball with the three-point shot.
“Don’t let her score, Akio-kun!” said Seishirō.
“You bet!” said Akio as he runs like a stallion, trying to block Natsuko. “You’re going down!”
“Or is it?” queried Natsuko as she goes for the fake before shooting the ball with the three-point shot and the ball drives through the basket. Natsuko grins while saying, “Bullesye!” [Ganetazuki 20, Team Shimoda 18]
“Alright! Natsuko did the three!” said Takako.
“She’s not down and haven’t given up!” said Harumi.
“She won’t be denied this time!” said Yōko.
“Nice shot, Natsuko-san!” said Chisa.
“Thanks, girls!” said Natsuko while giving her fellow members of Ganetazuki a thumbs-up.
“And now, Ganetazuki is up by two!” said Tomoyo.
“They’re currently one point away from winning the match!” said Koharu.
“Yeah! This time, they won’t give up no matter what!” said Akihiro.
“You’re right about that, Akihiro-kun. Soon, Emiri will be happy to make his new group proud if they’ll pay it off one more time. Don’t you agree?” said Shinya.
“Yeah!” said Tomoyo, Koharu and Akihiro.
Seishirō gets the ball from Junji before speaking to Emiri and her friends from Ganetazuki. “I don’t want to lose this match, girls, but since this is a friendly match, we’ll have to make it fair and square. You get it?”
“Of course, Seishirō-senpai! I won’t let you down!” said Emiri.
“Then, here comes my possession!” said Seishirō as he and his teammates would rally through the other side of the court while Emiri calls her teammates to catch them up.
“We got a lot of things to do, girls! Let’s stop them!” said Emiri.
“Okay, Emiri-sama!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
Seishirō passes the ball to Nobuo, which triggers Emiri to guard him. However, Nobuo was so fast that he was dodging out of Emiri’s way before doing the run and dash move.
“He’s about to perform the jab step, Kumiko-san!” said Emiri.
“Don’t worry about this, girl. I will make sure that he won’t score” said Kumiko.
“Okay!” said Emiri. As Nobuo stops by at the post, he’s about to do the jab step move when Kumiko catches him.
“There’s no way to score, Nobuo!” said Kumiko.
“Darn it! She caught me!” said Nobuo.
“Just let her go with your move!” said Seishirō.
“Use your speed!” said Kenjirō.
Nobuo finally nods his head to agree with Kenjirō and Seishirō while speaking to them. “Got it!” Nobuo would be faster than he was as was going for the ankle breaker move.
“I’m not afraid of this!” said Kumiko as she was able to counter Nobuo with the tighter defense.
“Don’t let him make a move, Kumiko-san!” said Natsuko.
“Just don’t lose your defense on him!” said Emiri.
“Okay!” said Kumiko while doing a better tight on guarding against Nobuo. Nobuo would step back before he’s going to drive past Kumiko.
“Now, let the ball loose!” said Natsuko and Emiri.
“You bet, girls!” said Kumiko with a wink on her left eye before shouting at Nobuo. “Hey! Take this!” And with that shout, Kumiko jabs the ball from the hands of Nobuo to let it loose before the ball would be rolling a little.
“The ball!” said the players of Team Shimoda and Ganetazuki.
“Don’t let the ball go out of bounds!” said Tomoyo.
“Just get it before it’s too late!” said Harumi.
“Okay!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Emiri, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
Natsuko would go first to reach the ball, but Kenjirō and Seishirō come out to catch up on her. Emiri would dash her way in to get the ball and pass it to Natsuko.
“Now, run!” said Emiri.
Natsuko nods her head to agree with Emiri before saying to her. “Right!” Natsuko would run through the other side of the court before being chased by Kenjirō and Seishirō.
“I don’t want to let her shoot, Seishirō-kun! She’s going for the win!” said Kenjirō.
“Then, it’s time to turn the tables right now!” said Seishirō.
“Yeah!” said Kenjirō and he and Seishirō finally reach at Natsuko before going to scare her.
“Ha! There’s no way you can shoot, Natsuko!” said Seishirō.
“Yeah! Give up now or else!” said Kenjirō.
“Oh no! Natsuko had been trapped!” said Harumi.
“You got to dazzle!” said Takako.
“Of course!” said Natsuko as she performs the behind the back move on both Kenjirō and Seishirō and before they know it, Natsuko steps back before passing the ball to Emiri.
“Crap!” said Kenjirō.
“She nailed the coffin for a pass!” said Seishirō.
“Nice pass, Natsuko-san!” said Emiri.
“Thanks!” said Natsuko.
“It’s not over yet!” said Seishirō as he tries to stop Emiri from going for the win. However, Emiri runs away quickly just like Satomi did.
“I’m not going to lose the ball to you this time, Seishirō-senpai! Just show your skill and let’s see what happens next!” said Emiri as he’s now dribbling the ball before doing the combo move on Seishirō.
“My Stealth Play can’t be stopped, Emiri-san! I’m not going to let you win!” said Seishirō.
“Then, you’re going to move it or lose it! Just watch and learn!” said Emiri as she drives past Seishirō with the accelerating drive before making it to the paint and shoot the ball with the floater and the match is over with Ganetazuki getting the win. The final score is 22 to 18.
“And that’s a wrap!” said Akihiro.
“Ganetazuki wins the match!” said Takako.
“What a great finish by my girl Emiri-san!” said Tomoyo.
“She’s not giving up now!” said Shinya.
“Told them that she’s the leader of a new group!” said Koharu.
“Yeah!” said Takako, Harumi, Yōko, Chisa and the close friends of Emiri.
After the match is over, Emiri and Seishirō meet with each other at the bench where they have to remove their sweat with their towels.
“Wow. You have opened a can to make me surprise, Emiri-san. I didn’t know that you’re emulating Satomi-san” said Seishirō.
“Yep. I learned some of her moves to make sure that I’ll be flexible” said Emiri.
“It was really indeed a good fight, Emiri-san, but I thought that you’re going to be part of the varsity team” said Seishirō.
“Well, I didn’t join the varsity team because I ain’t good, compared to Satomi and her other teammates” said Emiri.
“Oh, what a shame. I didn’t know that you didn’t play for them” said Seishirō.
“Yeah. However, I’m supporting Satomi and her teammates for them to make progress!” said Emiri.
“I see. I really like your pride and generous attitude, girl. I believe that you’re going to make them proud with your support” said Seishirō.
“Yeah, Seishirō-san! I want to make sure that Satomi and her teammates will work hard as they’ll eventually become champions of the prefectural basketball tournament one day” said Emiri.
“Good for you, Emiri-san! I really like it!” said Seishirō.
“Hey, Emiri-san!” said Tomoyo as she and the other close friends of Emiri have arrived.
“Oh, everyone! You’re here! I didn’t know that you see us” said Emiri.
“Well, nothing to be honest, Emiri-san, but I want to say that you’re awesome today!” said Tomoyo.
“Wow! That’s a kind word that you said it to me, Tomoyo-san! Thank you very much!” said Emiri.
“You’re welcome!” said Tomoyo.
“Since you did a great job in defeating Seishirō and his team, I believe that you’re very confident for your new group to step up like the way the Bravehearts of Toyohashi did” said Koharu.
“I’m happy for you, Emiri-san!” said Sayaka.
“Your group have been going great today!” said Akihiro.
“No doubt about that!” said Shinya.
“Thanks, guys! I have been gratified right now that my new group had been shining like it’s nothing, but I felt delightful about the performance of our team. One day, we’ll be able to shine just like Aqours and we’ll create our future for sure. Right, girls?”
“Yeah, we agree, Emiri-sama!” said the members of Ganetazuki.
“Now, let’s head into the dining area, so that we’ll eat some pizza! My mother had ordered it earlier while you guys hang out for some fresh air” said Seishirō.
“Okay!” said Emiri, her close friends and the members of Ganetazuki as they leave the basketball court together with Seishirō and his friends for their midday snack of pizza. Emiri and her friends have finally created their group known as Ganetazuki, which will represent Toyohashi, they’ll be served as the group to be associated to Emiri. With Ganetazuki being formed, they’ll be ready to shine together and help their friends and allies to show who they are as they’ll create their future one day when they’ll grow up soon.

In the previous update, Emiri Hiraki, Kurumi Aoyama and Yuzuki Yukimura had contemplated their future when they’re planning to build their own group that will represent for Emiri and her circle of friends. And now, it’s time for them to create their own group. So, today’s update will finally witness the formation of Ganetazuki. Ganetazuki will be the group that will represent for Emiri and her circle of friends and they have been resembled to Aqours from Love Live! Sunshine!! This group will not only represent for Emiri, but they’re also gonna be friends with the Bravehearts of Toyohashi. Also, they’re going to have a basketball match against Seishirō Shimoda and the Ōmihara Gakuen High School boys’ basketball team. Will Emiri and Ganetazuki proved that they’re building a good teamwork or Seishirō may spoil Ganetazuki's first day? It’s almost the beginning of new classes in Ōmihara Gakuen and it’s going to be a new beginning for Emiri and her close friends as she will create her new group that will serve as a group to gleam and shine for their future to be made.
It was afternoon at the home of Emiri where Emiri and her close friends have sat at the living room alongside Kurumi Aoyama, Yuzuki Yukimura and the others that have been closed to Emiri, Kurumi and Yuzuki. They were Natsuko Yonezawa, Takako Egawa, Kumiko Asakawa, Harumi Fukusawa, Yōko Komori and Chisa Maeda.
“The reason why we’re here is because we’ll be forming a brand new group that will represent our community that will give us pride, courage and honor” said Emiri.
“I believe that it’s going to be very big since you’re now a member of the Bravehearts of Toyohashi” said Kurumi.
“And everything will change in Toyohashi forever once we’ll represent our very own group to bless and shine for them” said Yuzuki.
“You got that right, girls!” said Emiri.
“Have you introduced them to us, Emiri-san?” asked Tomoyo.
“Oh! Silly me. I forgot to introduce them to you, Tomoyo-san” said Emiri before formally introduce her allies to her friends. “Everyone, these are my new friends that we’re going to assemble for our own group. Say your names and your section.”
“We got it!” said Kurumi, Yuzuki, Natsuko, Takako, Kumiko, Harumi, Yōko and Chisa as they’re going to introduce themselves.
“Kurumi Aoyama. Second year high school student.”
“Yuzuki Yukimura. Second year high school student.”
“Natsuko Yonezawa. First year high school student.”
“Takako Egawa. First year high school student.”
“Kumiko Asakawa. First year high school student.”
“Harumi Fukusawa. Third year high school student.”
“Yōko Komori. Third year high school student.”
“And Chisa Maeda. Third year high school student.”
“And these are my friends of mine. They were Tomoyo Matsukawa, Koharu Ōno, Sayaka Tanikawa, Itsuyo Nishizaki, Yuriko Shinozaki, Akihiro Mito, Shinya Akasaka, Hiroyasu Iwata and Taketoshi Hondo.”
“Hi!” said the close friends of Emiri.
“Hi!” said Kurumi, Yuzuki, Natsuko, Takako, Kumiko, Harumi, Yōko and Chisa.
“Wow! You girls are cool!” said Tomoyo.
“I can’t believe that they’re more beautiful that I have ever seen!” said Koharu.
“They’re surely good to see them smile!” said Sayaka.
“They even looked like Aqours!” said Akihiro.
“But with their difference based on their appearance!” said Shinya.
“That’s right, guys! These new friends will be teaming up with me to assemble our very own group, which I will name it ‘Ganetazuki’!” said Emiri. Ganetazuki comes from ‘ganetto’ from garnet in Japanese and ‘azuki-iro’ from maroon in Japanese.
“Ganetazuki. That sounds like a good name to me” said Natsuko.
“It’s great to represent the colors of our hometown” said Takako.
“Nothing can beat the colors with our own!” said Kumiko.
“Yep. You’re right about that, girls! And so, our goal is to shine like the other girl groups, which includes Aqours, the group that my friend Dia Kurosawa came from” said Emiri.
“Well, I’m hyped that we’ll be working together as a team!” said Harumi.
“Yeah! I can’t wait to see what you’re planning for our group to shine!” said Yōko.
“I hope that something is eccentric and fancier too!” said Chisa.
“Uh… I haven’t planned on that yet, Chisa-san, but fortunately, we’re going to do something for today” said Emiri.
“What today’s activity will be?” asked Kurumi.
“It’s going to be basketball” said Emiri.
“Basketball? I know that sport when we were in both elementary school and middle school days” said Kurumi.
“Yeah, that sport was very popular in Aichi, even in Shizuoka” said Yuzuki.
“That’s right, my friend. Emiri was good in playing basketball because she was always playing that sport with her other friends” said Tomoyo.
“Even with Harunobu and the other bravehearts too” said Koharu.
“Since then, Emiri had been interested in that sport, even though archery is her favorite sport” said Sayaka.
“Which was inherited by her father” said Itsuyo.
“Her father was always burning with his moves that won’t be stopped” said Yuriko.
“Wow! You had a great dad, Emiri! My father used to be working as a clerk in a city hall. He had been tough ever since college” said Natsuko.
“My father is a lifeguard. He had to guard the people in the beach” said Takako.
“My father was used to be a teacher because he teaches the students in our school. I wonder if he’ll end up being our adviser for this year” said Kumiko.
“Yeah, we better watch out at the start of our new school year, Kumiko!” said Kurumi.
“It’ll be different than you have seen in your middle school days, but I hope that you’ll be surprised when you make it on the first day of school” said Yuzuki.
“Yeah!” said Natsuko, Takako and Kumiko.
“Now, as I was saying, basketball is one of the popular sports in Toyohashi and in the entire Aichi Prefecture alongside baseball and soccer, but also there were individual sporting activities have been popular such as archery, swimming and cycling” said Emiri.
“Everyone knows that in Ōmihara Gakuen, they were some skilled athletes that played for that school’s basketball program. In the boys’ basketball team, they were good and athletic ones such as Keizō Sonoda, Hiroshi Horie, Tomoyuki Miyazawa and Shigeyoshi Miyauchi while notable members of the girls’ basketball team were Natsuki Imaizumi, Kyoko Miyamae, Tomiko Komori and Ayako Hayata” said Tomoyo.
“Since then, they were contending for the prefectural tournaments every year, but they weren’t able to reach it to the top after their successful finish so far was in the fourth round” said Akihiro.
“Fortunately, though, the Ōmihara Gakuen will still keep its confidence no matter what because they’re ready to be prospered like the past players did” said Shinya.
“That’s very nice. I never thought that their basketball program had been in a good shape since they have changed their system long time ago” said Harumi.
“It’s a matter of time that they’ll finally make it to the top as soon as they’re tough enough to defeat their opponents on the way” said Yōko.
“Once they see their eyes, they spark like they should be. They’ll bring the sparkles to burst without hesitation” said Chisa.
“Yeah, we agree” said Emiri, Tomoyo, Akihiro and Shinya.
“It’s going to be different this year because not only both Seishirō Shimoda and Harunobu Hoshikawa have been captain and ace respectively…” said Tomoyo.
“…but they’ll welcome their new faces once their season will begin!” said Shinya.
“Oh, can we see them?” asked Harumi.
“I wanna take a look for myself!” said Yōko.
“Yeah! I can’t wait to share it, Emiri-san!” said Chisa.
“Well, unfortunately, our leader Harunobu said that he didn’t reveal the new faces yet because there will be no training until the end of the month” said Emiri.
Harumi, Yōko and Chisa groan when Emiri said that there’s no training for the Ōmihara Gakuen High School boys’ basketball team. “Aw, man.”
“However, he said that he’ll announce it once they’ll recruit some new faces during the club registration week” said Emiri.
“Wow. What a relief” said Harumi.
“Al least that the announcement was not bad” said Yōko.
“Yeah, I agree” said Chisa.
“The club registration week will be held from April 19 to 23, which will be three weeks from now, so don’t be surprised to see them when they have found some new players to show up” said Akihiro.
“Oh, okay, we understand” said Harumi, Yōko and Chisa.
“What about the other sports?” asked Harumi.
“Are they good just like basketball?” addedly queried Yōko.
“Can they make it to the top too?” squealy asked Chisa.
“Yes, they do, but they’re very versatile with different kinds of skills that they have for them to be strong” said Sayaka.
“In volleyball, they were competing in the same level as the other schools in Toyohashi” said Koharu.
“In baseball, they have rebuilt their roster after losing about 9 senpais who were graduated recently” said Hiroyasu.
“In soccer, they look forward in making it to the quarterfinals after they did that 15 years ago” said Itsuyo.
“For the individual sports, some have achieved such as swimmers and badminton players” said Yuriko.
“Just like one of our good friends named Kojiro Takatsuka, who was very good in swimming with his eyes can gleam like a dolphin” said Taketoshi.
“Ah, I get it now!” said Harumi.
“That sounds like they’re good athletes to me” said Yōko.
“They can’t be stopped because they’re formidable and hustle too” said Chisa.
“Yeah!” said Koharu, Sayaka, Itsuyo, Yuriko, Hiroyasu and Taketoshi.
“We believe that your sharing is true, Emiri and friends. I know that they’re very competitive when it comes to competitions like the prefectural tournaments, but it seems that one day, they’ll find a light to win” said Natsuko.
“The sporting program of Ōmihara Gakuen have been developed for many years without losing the spirit of sportsmanship” said Takako.
“It’s very interesting to say that athletes have to be strong in order to reach their goal” said Kumiko.
“As soon as they’ll be going to the top, they’re going to succeed no matter what it takes” said Kurumi.
“Because their destiny is the hope that they won’t lost forever” said Yuzuki.
Emiri smiles on her face while speaking to her fellow friends. “I agree with that, girls. Of course, there’s going to be a hope that will make Ōmihara Gakuen more competitive and more serious on their season because it’s their time to shine.”
“Yeah!” said Kurumi, Yuzuki, Natsuko, Takako, Kumiko, Harumi, Yōko and Chisa.
“Now, we should find a good spot to play basketball. Do you have anything good to find a court like that?” said Emiri.
“Well, there’s a small basketball court that was located in Seishirō’s home where he trained there when he didn’t have a training” said Kurumi.
“Maybe we can pay him a visit and use his court for just an hour. How’s that sound?” said Yuzuki.
“That’s a good idea, Yuzuki-san!” said Emiri.
“Then, what are you waiting for? We should go Seishirō’s home to play basketball there!” said Yuzuki.
“Yeah!” said Emiri, her close friends and the members of Ganetazuki as they’re going to the home of Seishirō Shimoda to play basketball in that place’s basketball court.
At the home of Seishirō Shimoda, which is located in Futagawa, Emiri, her close friends and the members of Ganetazuki meet Seishirō Shimoda, a third year high school student from the Ōmihara Gakuen High School and the captain of the school’s boys’ basketball team.
“So, you must be Emiri Hiraki, the friend of Harunobu, right?” asked Seishirō.
“Yes, I am, Seishirō-senpai. I came here because I want to borrow your court for an hour” said Emiri.
“We came from Ganetazuki, the group that will be blessing for the Bravehearts of Toyohashi and our hometown” said Kurumi.
“Hopefully, you’ll accept our proposal to use your court for today” said Yuzuki.
“Well, I guess that I’m going to accept it, girls” said Seishirō.
“Hooray!” said Emiri and Kurumi and Yuzuki.
“Now that I allowed you to use my court, I’ll be happy to play with you because I haven’t seen you play basketball since the ball games tournament that we used in Ōmihara Gakuen” said Seishirō.
“Uh… you saw us playing basketball?” confused Emiri.
“Yep. I saw you and your classmates playing basketball against a group of students from a different section. I like you and Satomi playing like that, especially to Aki Kawashima too!” said Seishirō.
“Wow! I’m surprised about that, Seishirō-senpai. I really think that you’re observing one of my friends that have been part of the girls’ basketball team because Satomi was really a stealth shooter” said Emiri.
“Yep. That’s true, Emiri-san” said Seishirō.
“Are you going to call your friends to play?” asked Tomoyo.
“Uh… yes, I have. In fact, I have invited some of my close friends to come around just for the preparations for the opening day” said Seishirō while showing his fellow schoolmates, composed of Kenjirō Takayanagi, Junji Tamayama, Michihisa Takamori, Nobuo Hayasaka, Akio Kitamura and Shinjirō Fujita. They were all third year high school students from the Ōmihara Gakuen High School, but only Kenjirō, Junji, Nobuo and Akio were members of the school’s boys’ basketball team just like Seishirō.
“Oh! I see that you have friends too!” said Harumi.
“They’re brave and beautiful with their smiles won’t be bad at all!” said Yōko.
“It sounds like your friends are very compassionate because they follow you at all times” said Chisa.
“Yep. These friends were very nice to my fellow schoolmates in my class and my fellow teammates in my team. I hope that you’re going to see them in action once we’re on training” said Seishirō.
“Yes, we will, Seishirō-kun!” said Harumi, Yōko and Chisa.
“If I remember correctly, Seishirō-senpai, you must be taller than Harunobu. I can’t wait to see you grow one inch to another because you’re good enough to be flexible” said Akihiro.
“And you’re very famous in school as well!” said Shinya.
“That’s true, guys. I’m a small forward and power forward in my team, but when it comes to my appearance, I’m the top man in my class, which is section 3-3” said Seishirō.
“Whoa! That’s awesome!” said Akihiro and Shinya.
“You’re really looking good, Seishirō!” said Hiroyasu.
“Everyone knows that you’re very brave to make your friends feel comfortable to follow you” said Taketoshi.
“Yes, I am. I hope that you’re going to watch out for my team because we’ll be adding new members soon” said Seishirō.
“Sure, we will!” said Akihiro, Shinya, Hiroyasu and Taketoshi.
“Now, Emiri-san, I think that we should settle a friendly match between your group and my group to see which the two of us are good. Are you ready to challenge me?” said Seishirō.
“Why, yes, I am! I’m ready with my team!” said Emiri.
“Yeah, we’re friends of Emiri and we’re going to defeat you!” said the members of Ganetazuki.
“Then, let’s head into my court for this exhibition match! I’m not going to get easy on you!” said Seishirō.
“Okay!” said Emiri and the members of Ganetazuki.
Emiri, her close friends and the members of Ganetazuki have entered to the basketball court of the home of Seishirō, Seishirō and his friends would assemble their own team, which is composed of him, Kenjirō, Junji, Nobuo and Akio. On the other hand, Emiri had assembled her own team, composed of herself, Kurumi, Yuzuki, Natsuko and Kumiko.
Team Shimoda: Kenjirō Takayanagi (PG), Nobuo Hayasaka (SG), Seishirō Shimoda (SF), Akio Kitamura (PF), Junji Tamayama (C)
Ganetazuki: Natsuko Yonezawa (PG), Emiri Hiraki (SG), Kumiko Asakawa (SF), Yuzuki Yukimura (PF), Kurumi Aoyama (C)
“The rule for this is who makes 21 points wins the match. You’re okay with this?” said Seishirō.
“Yeah! I feel happy that you saw me playing during the ball games tournament, but I hope that you won’t slip up when I battle you” said Emiri.
“Okay, then. Suit yourself because this one will be better than nothing!” said Seishirō.
“You got it!” said Emiri.
Tomoyo would stand up to announce in front of both Team Shimoda and Ganetazuki. “I’m going to be the referee for this match. So, may the best team wins!”
“Okay!” said the members of Team Shimoda and Ganetazuki.
“Here we go!” said Tomoyo as she releases the ball from her hands, which triggers both Junji and Kurumi to jump together to see who the best between the two of them is. Junji tips the ball first, which the ball sends flying to the hands of Nobuo to get their possession first.
Nobuo would clash against Emiri in the free throw line as the former dribbles like he’s an athlete.
“Do you think that you can stop me?” asked Nobuo.
“Well, I haven’t seen you when you’re playing in a real game, but let’s see because I’m not hesitated to lose this clash” said Emiri.
“Okay, then” said Nobuo as he performs the crossover more on Emiri before going for the spin move. Emiri had to block Nobuo’s way before trying to intercept him with the defense. As the close friends of Emiri have cheered for her, which allows Emiri to go on a tight defense against Nobuo.
“How’s that, Nobuo-senpai? There’s no way you can get past me!” said Emiri.
“Shoot! I can’t believe that she’s looked like Aki Kawashima! I have to reverse this right now!” said Nobu as he steps back before passing the ball to Seishirō.
“Ah, no good! He’s passing the ball to Seishirō!” said Emiri.
Seishirō would perform the crossover move on Kumiko before going to shoot the ball with the finger roll move.
Yuzuki tries to block Seishirō’s finger roll move, but the latter was too fast to fake it before releasing the ball. “There’s no way you can block my shot!” The ball would drive into the basket to score the first two points for Team Shimoda [Team Shimoda 2, Ganetazuki 0]
“Wow! That guy was so fast!” said Harumi.
“I can’t believe that he can make easy shots like this!” said Yōko.
“I would expect to see him doing that shot, but he hasn’t reached his time to use a special move” said Chisa.
“Well, I hope that he will be pulling his tricks to make his opponents shocked, but in this matchup, I believe that Emiri isn’t afraid of it” said Takako.
“Yes, he was, Takako-san” said Harumi.
“I hope that she won’t be downed and out for sure” said Yōko.
“There’s no way she will be wiped out for just a second” said Chisa.
“Yeah” said Takako.
It was Ganetazuki’s turn to play their possession. Natsuko would clash against Kenjirō as the former performs the between the legs move on the latter before trying to do the accelerating drive to get past Kenjirō.
“I don’t want to let you get past me!” said Kenjirō.
“Oh, yeah? How about this?!” exclaimed Natsuko as she performs the fake drive to get past Kenjirō before passing the ball to Yuzuki. As Yuzuki shines her way by driving past Akio, she’s now heading to the paint and try to score for Ganetazuki, however, Seishirō comes out to block that shot.
“You can’t do this!” said Seishirō as he successfully blocks Yuzuki’s shot and the ball would send flying before being caught by Emiri. “What the?!”
“Emiri-san!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
“So, you came here to say your possession?” asked Seishirō.
“Yep. I don’t care if you want to hurt my friends with that shot, but I’m going to show you the real deal!” said Emiri as she runs in stealth before doing the between the legs move on Seishirō. Seishirō tries to stop Emiri’s pattern, but Emiri had nonetheless gained the upper hand by doing the behind the back move. Then, Emiri drives past Seishirō quickly.
“What?!” shouted Seishirō.
Everyone gasps in surprise when they see Emiri driving past Seishirō with her own drive. Seishirō turns around to see Emiri shooting the ball with the floater to tie the game. [Team Shimoda 2, Ganetazuki 2]
“Alright! Emiri makes the first two points for us!” said Takako.
“She’s always coming out in surprise!” said Tomoyo.
“I believe that she’s doing it like the ball games tournament” said Akihiro.
“Yep. She always performs in a beat to make sure that she’ll dazzle the way the others did” said Shinya.
“I’m so glad that she’s pulling it off! It made me shocked to see that drive and finish” said Harumi.
“Hopefully, she will help her team win” said Yōko.
“Because that’s what she’ll do to make her shine” said Chisa.
“Yeah!” said Takako and the close friends of Emiri.
The next possession comes when Kenjirō battles against Natsuko in the perimeter. When Kenjirō dazzles past Natsuko, he passes the ball to Akio, who came from the post. Akio would battle against Yuzuki for size.
“Let’s see if you’re worthy to stop this!” said Akio as he performs the behind the back move on Yuzuki, but Yuzuki wasn’t being fierce after all. Yuzuki would catch up to stop Akio from getting her way. Akio had slipped up before he’s trying to get into another direction, which allows Yuzuki getting the opportunity to steal the ball. However, Akio doesn’t want to have that happened as he performs the fake before trying to shoot the ball with the hook shot.
“He’s going to make that shot, Yuzuki!” said Kurumi.
“Oh no, you don’t!” said Yuzuki as he blocks the shot of Akio.
“Way to go, Yuzuki-san! You rock!” said Emiri, which makes Yuzuki smile. However, their celebration doesn’t last for a second when Seishirō grabs the ball quickly.
“The ball, Kumiko!” said Natsuko.
“Okay!” said Kumiko as she was able to intercept Seishirō by locking him down to prepare for a short close. Seishirō had to create a pattern to make his moves dazzle, but Kumiko is trying to stop Seishirō from doing it. When they go back and forth, Seishirō makes a getaway from doing the spin move before shooting the ball with the jump shot in the post and the ball drives to the basket. [Team Shimoda 4, Ganetazuki 2]
“That shot was so good” said Koharu.
“I can’t believe that he’s too strong” said Sayaka.
“A strong guy makes his way to score like he’s the boss” said Hiroyasu.
“I’m sure that he’s going to rally, but I have a feeling that Emiri has that too” said Itsuyo.
“Huh? How will you know?” asked Koharu.
“You’ll see what’s going to happen next” said Itsuyo.
“Oh, right” said Koharu.
“I had a strange feeling for it” said Sayaka.
“Yeah, me too” said Hiryoasu.
Natsuko dazzles past Kenjirō before passing the ball to Kumiko as Kumiko had to battle against Seishirō. Kumiko would step back from Seishirō, who was trying to get the ball from her. Then, Seishirō does the trick as he tips the ball from the hands of Kumiko, but Emiri was able to recover the ball.
“Huh?!” surprisingly said Seishirō.
“It’s that again!” said Kenjirō.
“I don’t mind if you’re going to use your tricks like this, Seishirō-san, but you don’t know that I have my mind to take you out” said Emiri.
“Well, then, I’m going to get it back right now!” said Seishirō as he’s going for the charge, but Emiri moves backward before dazzling in to perform the crossover move and the spin move on Seishirō.
“Whoa! What is this?!” shouted Akihiro.
“I don’t know, Akihiro-kun, but this sounds like Emiri doing the move that Natsumi did” said Tomoyo.
“Natsumi’s move?” strangely queried Shinya.
“I didn’t know that she is using that move quickly, Tomoyo” said Akihiro.
“Well, Emiri had to learn that move when she was watching one of Emiri’s games in the practice match against Jishukan High School” said Tomoyo while the scene changes to Emiri performing the jab step to power up her move in trying to get away from Seishirō. “Natsumi was very skilled shooter when it comes to her favorite spot, the paint, but as along as she’s from the outside, she had to make the combo move at the same time.” Emiri had to perform the combo move to get away from Seishirō, which she did before successfully taking out him with the dazzling drive.
“No one will expect to see that move even if someone is emulating that move” said Akihiro.
“Others have learned that move, but nonetheless, they paid it off” said Shinya. The scene changes to Emiri shooting the ball with the floater to tie the game again. [Team Shimoda 4, Ganetazuki 4]
“I can’t believe that she’s really looked like Natsumi-san” said Koharu.
“I would expect that she’s going to make that move if he wants to emulate the way Natsumi did” said Sayaka.
“Hopefully, this will give a good result for Emiri, but she had to help her teammates though” said Hiroyasu.
“Yeah, you’re right about that” said Tomoyo.
The next scene changes to Nobuo trying to get past Emiri, but the latter calls Yuzuki for the double team. Getting frightened from the double team, he passes the ball to Seishirō quickly before Seishirō had to drive past Kumiko with the quick drive. Then, Seishirō passes the ball to Junji, who successfully makes the shot with the clutch shot.
Ganetazuki would respond it by doing another strategy. Natsuko had to drive past Kenjirō before going to battle against Nobuo. Nobuo tries to grab the ball from Natsuko, but Natsuko was so fast that she gives him a mercy by doing the ankle breaker move on him. When Nobuo got stumbled to the ground, Natsuko would dash in and pass the ball to Yuzuki before shooting the ball with the pullup jumper.
Both teams would show their skills in different scenes such as Kenjirō doing the three-point shot and Emiri performing the between the legs move on two defenders, which were Seishirō and Akio. Then, Emiri would pass the ball to Yuzuki, who gets two points with the clutch shot. The next scene shows Emiri grabbing the ball from Nobuo before doing the fadeaway shot from the free throw line. Kenjirō had to do the bank shot after getting away from Natsuko while Kumiko does the finger roll move that Seishirō did earlier.
A few minutes later, Seishirō begins to make his special ability called the Stealth Play where he had to block any opponent’s shot from any direction. However, both Natsuko and Emiri have defended themselves from that ability as they do their own ability, based on Satomi’s style of play, which is the Eight Wings, a style of play that used to evade the effect of one opponent’s abilities through their mind. The match becomes intense after ten minutes where both teams have competed for the best between them. When it reaches the fifteenth minute, Team Shimoda is still leading, but by one point, with the score, 18-17.
“We can’t let them win, girls! We still have our guts to show up!” said Emiri.
“Yeah!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
“Now, let’s make sure that we will walk away with the win!” said Emiri.
“Okay!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
Natsuko performs the crossover move on Kenjirō before dashing him away with the drive. Then, she passes the ball to Yuzuki, who does the ball handling play. Yuzuki would play mind games on Akio by doing a trick that was used by Satomi. Yuzuki performs the stealth move before moving through the right, so that Akio can’t catch her.
Yuzuki would end up going to the paint before doing the up and under move. However, Seishirō comes out once again to block that shot.
“Get that shot out of here! You don’t have the techniques to use that move!” said Seishirō while Yuzuki gasps in horror.
“No! He blocks Yuzuki’s shot!” said Chisa.
“You got to be kidding me!” said Harumi.
“There’s no way he had to do that move to stop any move that is related to Satomi” said Yuriko.
“Yeah, that guy is too fast to block any shot that came a different direction” said Taketoshi.
“I hope that it’s all come to an end” said Yōko.
“Yeah” said Yuriko, Taketoshi, Haru and Chisa, who were all worrying.
However, Kurumi grabs the ball in a heave before shouting at Seishirō. “It’s not over yet!”
“What?!” shouted Seishirō.
“We’re not going to give up!” said Natsuko.
“And we’re going to stop you from your ability!” said Emiri.
“Hmph! It doesn’t matter, girls! My team will gonna win!” said Seishirō as he charges in, trying to steal the ball from Kurumi, but Kurumi swiftly gets out of it with a dodge.
“You think so?” asked Kurumi while Seishirō was speechless. Kurumi would pass the ball to Natsuko, who came from the outside. After which, Natsuko would shoot the ball with the three-point shot.
“Don’t let her score, Akio-kun!” said Seishirō.
“You bet!” said Akio as he runs like a stallion, trying to block Natsuko. “You’re going down!”
“Or is it?” queried Natsuko as she goes for the fake before shooting the ball with the three-point shot and the ball drives through the basket. Natsuko grins while saying, “Bullesye!” [Ganetazuki 20, Team Shimoda 18]
“Alright! Natsuko did the three!” said Takako.
“She’s not down and haven’t given up!” said Harumi.
“She won’t be denied this time!” said Yōko.
“Nice shot, Natsuko-san!” said Chisa.
“Thanks, girls!” said Natsuko while giving her fellow members of Ganetazuki a thumbs-up.
“And now, Ganetazuki is up by two!” said Tomoyo.
“They’re currently one point away from winning the match!” said Koharu.
“Yeah! This time, they won’t give up no matter what!” said Akihiro.
“You’re right about that, Akihiro-kun. Soon, Emiri will be happy to make his new group proud if they’ll pay it off one more time. Don’t you agree?” said Shinya.
“Yeah!” said Tomoyo, Koharu and Akihiro.
Seishirō gets the ball from Junji before speaking to Emiri and her friends from Ganetazuki. “I don’t want to lose this match, girls, but since this is a friendly match, we’ll have to make it fair and square. You get it?”
“Of course, Seishirō-senpai! I won’t let you down!” said Emiri.
“Then, here comes my possession!” said Seishirō as he and his teammates would rally through the other side of the court while Emiri calls her teammates to catch them up.
“We got a lot of things to do, girls! Let’s stop them!” said Emiri.
“Okay, Emiri-sama!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
Seishirō passes the ball to Nobuo, which triggers Emiri to guard him. However, Nobuo was so fast that he was dodging out of Emiri’s way before doing the run and dash move.
“He’s about to perform the jab step, Kumiko-san!” said Emiri.
“Don’t worry about this, girl. I will make sure that he won’t score” said Kumiko.
“Okay!” said Emiri. As Nobuo stops by at the post, he’s about to do the jab step move when Kumiko catches him.
“There’s no way to score, Nobuo!” said Kumiko.
“Darn it! She caught me!” said Nobuo.
“Just let her go with your move!” said Seishirō.
“Use your speed!” said Kenjirō.
Nobuo finally nods his head to agree with Kenjirō and Seishirō while speaking to them. “Got it!” Nobuo would be faster than he was as was going for the ankle breaker move.
“I’m not afraid of this!” said Kumiko as she was able to counter Nobuo with the tighter defense.
“Don’t let him make a move, Kumiko-san!” said Natsuko.
“Just don’t lose your defense on him!” said Emiri.
“Okay!” said Kumiko while doing a better tight on guarding against Nobuo. Nobuo would step back before he’s going to drive past Kumiko.
“Now, let the ball loose!” said Natsuko and Emiri.
“You bet, girls!” said Kumiko with a wink on her left eye before shouting at Nobuo. “Hey! Take this!” And with that shout, Kumiko jabs the ball from the hands of Nobuo to let it loose before the ball would be rolling a little.
“The ball!” said the players of Team Shimoda and Ganetazuki.
“Don’t let the ball go out of bounds!” said Tomoyo.
“Just get it before it’s too late!” said Harumi.
“Okay!” said Natsuko, Kumiko, Emiri, Yuzuki and Kurumi.
Natsuko would go first to reach the ball, but Kenjirō and Seishirō come out to catch up on her. Emiri would dash her way in to get the ball and pass it to Natsuko.
“Now, run!” said Emiri.
Natsuko nods her head to agree with Emiri before saying to her. “Right!” Natsuko would run through the other side of the court before being chased by Kenjirō and Seishirō.
“I don’t want to let her shoot, Seishirō-kun! She’s going for the win!” said Kenjirō.
“Then, it’s time to turn the tables right now!” said Seishirō.
“Yeah!” said Kenjirō and he and Seishirō finally reach at Natsuko before going to scare her.
“Ha! There’s no way you can shoot, Natsuko!” said Seishirō.
“Yeah! Give up now or else!” said Kenjirō.
“Oh no! Natsuko had been trapped!” said Harumi.
“You got to dazzle!” said Takako.
“Of course!” said Natsuko as she performs the behind the back move on both Kenjirō and Seishirō and before they know it, Natsuko steps back before passing the ball to Emiri.
“Crap!” said Kenjirō.
“She nailed the coffin for a pass!” said Seishirō.
“Nice pass, Natsuko-san!” said Emiri.
“Thanks!” said Natsuko.
“It’s not over yet!” said Seishirō as he tries to stop Emiri from going for the win. However, Emiri runs away quickly just like Satomi did.
“I’m not going to lose the ball to you this time, Seishirō-senpai! Just show your skill and let’s see what happens next!” said Emiri as he’s now dribbling the ball before doing the combo move on Seishirō.
“My Stealth Play can’t be stopped, Emiri-san! I’m not going to let you win!” said Seishirō.
“Then, you’re going to move it or lose it! Just watch and learn!” said Emiri as she drives past Seishirō with the accelerating drive before making it to the paint and shoot the ball with the floater and the match is over with Ganetazuki getting the win. The final score is 22 to 18.
“And that’s a wrap!” said Akihiro.
“Ganetazuki wins the match!” said Takako.
“What a great finish by my girl Emiri-san!” said Tomoyo.
“She’s not giving up now!” said Shinya.
“Told them that she’s the leader of a new group!” said Koharu.
“Yeah!” said Takako, Harumi, Yōko, Chisa and the close friends of Emiri.
After the match is over, Emiri and Seishirō meet with each other at the bench where they have to remove their sweat with their towels.
“Wow. You have opened a can to make me surprise, Emiri-san. I didn’t know that you’re emulating Satomi-san” said Seishirō.
“Yep. I learned some of her moves to make sure that I’ll be flexible” said Emiri.
“It was really indeed a good fight, Emiri-san, but I thought that you’re going to be part of the varsity team” said Seishirō.
“Well, I didn’t join the varsity team because I ain’t good, compared to Satomi and her other teammates” said Emiri.
“Oh, what a shame. I didn’t know that you didn’t play for them” said Seishirō.
“Yeah. However, I’m supporting Satomi and her teammates for them to make progress!” said Emiri.
“I see. I really like your pride and generous attitude, girl. I believe that you’re going to make them proud with your support” said Seishirō.
“Yeah, Seishirō-san! I want to make sure that Satomi and her teammates will work hard as they’ll eventually become champions of the prefectural basketball tournament one day” said Emiri.
“Good for you, Emiri-san! I really like it!” said Seishirō.
“Hey, Emiri-san!” said Tomoyo as she and the other close friends of Emiri have arrived.
“Oh, everyone! You’re here! I didn’t know that you see us” said Emiri.
“Well, nothing to be honest, Emiri-san, but I want to say that you’re awesome today!” said Tomoyo.
“Wow! That’s a kind word that you said it to me, Tomoyo-san! Thank you very much!” said Emiri.
“You’re welcome!” said Tomoyo.
“Since you did a great job in defeating Seishirō and his team, I believe that you’re very confident for your new group to step up like the way the Bravehearts of Toyohashi did” said Koharu.
“I’m happy for you, Emiri-san!” said Sayaka.
“Your group have been going great today!” said Akihiro.
“No doubt about that!” said Shinya.
“Thanks, guys! I have been gratified right now that my new group had been shining like it’s nothing, but I felt delightful about the performance of our team. One day, we’ll be able to shine just like Aqours and we’ll create our future for sure. Right, girls?”
“Yeah, we agree, Emiri-sama!” said the members of Ganetazuki.
“Now, let’s head into the dining area, so that we’ll eat some pizza! My mother had ordered it earlier while you guys hang out for some fresh air” said Seishirō.
“Okay!” said Emiri, her close friends and the members of Ganetazuki as they leave the basketball court together with Seishirō and his friends for their midday snack of pizza. Emiri and her friends have finally created their group known as Ganetazuki, which will represent Toyohashi, they’ll be served as the group to be associated to Emiri. With Ganetazuki being formed, they’ll be ready to shine together and help their friends and allies to show who they are as they’ll create their future one day when they’ll grow up soon.
