SUMMARY

A Hunter is one who travels the world doing all sorts of dangerous tasks. From capturing criminals to searching deep within uncharted lands for any lost treasures. Gon is a young boy whose father disappeared long ago, being a Hunter. He believes if he could also follow his father's path, he could one day reunite with him.

After becoming 12, Gon leaves his home and takes on the task of entering the Hunter exam, notorious for its low success rate and high probability of death to become an official Hunter. He befriends the revenge-driven Kurapica, the doctor-to-be Leorio and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua in the exam, with their friendship prevailing throughout the many trials and threats they come upon taking on the dangerous career of a Hunter.

Is SG's version better than their release?

you should maybe add info+linkcheckers directly in each first post, because they're quite unknown\hidden in your signature.

I'm using Coalgirls for the 720p WEBRips and the 1080p BDs. I'm using HorribleSubs for the 1080p WEBRips. And finally, I'm using SG for the 720p BDs.
Which one you want to get depends on your ability to wait months for the next BD releases. ;)

I think I'll go for SG's 720p BDs, hoping they won't stall for years..

Ok, uhm, earlier in this thread you said you have SG for the 720p BDs and Coalgirls for the 1080p BDs. Does that mean you have now switched to Coalgirls for 720p BDs, or is 1080p the only BD version available?

Considering the amount of episodes I'd prefer 720p as it would be of smaller file size.
