Some Drawing question

tabemono3; I agree with that. Layers ftw! :3
I use as many layers as my PC's RAM allows me (I reached the limit at around 130 layers or so).

130 layers.. how frequent do you use that much? I havent even reached 30.. and it gets confusing to tell what is in which layer although I've heard people using 300 layers or so..

redcat probaby uses folder layer(assuming because 130 is a lot). Same as layer but you group them for easier access. Instead of having all the layers on top or bottom of each other, you create a folder and put them inside and name it like skin color. Then inside you have skin base color, skin highlight, skin shadow etc. I use it for anything over 10 layers. It is a nice way to organize what you are doing and keep you on track.

rubbergum; Not so often. It's only for difficult scenes, like the ones with multiple characters (5 or more) which have detailed backgrounds which need to be editable for different light source (i.e morning vs day vs night). For simpler cg, I usually use less (around 30 layers or so). SAI limit is 256 layers, iirc (and my friend always complain about how often he hit that limit) :D

tabemono3; yep, you're right. I use folders (or layer set) to make life easier :3
For those who really like to mess around with hundreds of layers, Photoshop is better choice than SAI though...

Also, SAI is basically abandon-ware by now, so it is only in 32bit form. It has a limit for 256 layers currently, and others for max image size and such. It is a shame, since SAI should be able to handle massive files so much better than most other programs because it is so lightweight itself.
I really wish the developer would make a 64bit version to remove these limitations, especially since the program is so darn popular!

I'm sure if he continued working on it, people would keep buying it, and others would be willing to pay a little to upgrade to newer versions.

Though I already think it is pretty sad that people actually bother pirating SAI. The license is around $60. Where else are you going to find a price like that for one of the top-of-the-line softwares?

paying is quite difficult at some countries, setting the bank account etc.

Making a bank account is difficult in some places? I find that hard to believe, since in that case the banks would not be able to do business.

So I suppose in that vein it could be hard because there are no banks because they refuse to do business?
