Over my dead body! j/ks Well someone in the VN group already claimed her through bloody war so I will have to step back. Doesn't apply for outsiders so have fun!
This anime is a breath of fresh air, finally a form of media that has a realistic (well semi-realistic) scene about hacking!! In just about every movie or media, hackers look like idiots that just bang on the keyboard...... Well atleast what the hacker here is saying realistic things.
I personally am hoping for a nice Mayuri X Makise service scene of any sort, one that involves lots of yuri and maybe some..... gel-bananas!!
hmm.. john titor somehow existed in bbs in early 2000s based on what i read on the net ~. somehow this anime had a basis of the mention character ~ . . .
interesting... i wonder what would happen next? . . .~ ?
^ Most of S;G concepts are based on real life (of course exaggerated), should have included who John titor is back in my posts.
This show handles moe and other fan pandering elements extremely well (ie. they're not interfering with the narrative.) It just works.
the major turning point that came about was the Jellyman thing. It happening to a banana is bad enough, but to a person... I believe this is Steins's equivalent of the New-Gen murders in Chaos;Head. Something part of a conspiracy, gruesome to look at, pushing the plot in a new direction. But more scattered through space and time, of course. And of course, Rintaro KYOUMA only sees it as a method to take over the world. Rock on, you crazy scientist.
By now it is obvious what role Suzuha plays. That pose with intentions of killing Kurisu? She doesn't know about fireworks and mistaking it as bombing and mentions that Kurisu doesn't know something yet. Going back to hints back in the previous episodes, remember she greets everyone with 'sup' which others don't get it cause it is not the 'in greetings' used in this timeline.
One big difference in this episode when compared to the VN that may make a difference later on is the level of access required to access SERN's system.
Anime:
User access: Some emails
With IBN 5100: Access to all jellyman's report
VN:
User access: Some emails
Admin access: Access to all jellyman's report
With IBN 5100: ??
Note that in the VN, Daru was busy trying to get admin access into SERN's system instead of working on IBN 5100(since he does not have the knowledge on how to use it and AFAIR, Okabe asked him to get admin access as a priority). Not going to say much on what will happen later on but might help to keep this in mind.
Dropping info on Kerr Black Holes to save time.
A “spinning” black hole is called a Kerr black hole; it is described by only two physical properties: mass and angular momentum. The Schwarzschild black hole, which has zero angular momentum, is a special case of the Kerr black hole. The amount of angular momentum a black hole may carry is limited by the black hole’s mass; the maximum magnitude of the angular momentum is proportional to the mass.
A Kerr black hole’s gravitational field has an axis of symmetry that can be thought of as an axis of rotation. The angular momentum vector is in the direction of this axis. The gravitational field is also mirror-symmetric about an equatorial plane that contains the black hole’s center. The angular momentum vector is perpendicular to the equatorial plane. As the angular momentum goes to zero, the gravitational field becomes spherically-symmetric.
Kerr black holes were postulated by the theorist, Roy Kerr in the 1960s. He postulated that a rotating star could collapse into a black hole with a rotating ring of neutrons at its center rather than the usual singularity. Kerr believed that since there wasn’t a singularity at the center, one might be able to travel through the black hole without being crushed by the singularity. Another theoretically possible scenario is that a person could enter the Kerr black hole and exit through a white hole on the other side (a white hole would actually push everything away from it using some form of exotic matter with negative energy), and, in this way, one could travel through spacetime.
While white holes may be theoretically possible, there is absolutely no evidence to support their existence. Many theorists do not believe there is any way to pass through a black hole and that even if it were possible, one would be torn apart by the enormous tidal forces well before reaching the singularity.
We didn't go much in terms of plot, but I don't really mind as I enjoy the fast-paced back and forth banter between the characters for the time being, like when they're deciding the name. I agree with Mayushii, Delorean Mail is definitely the best name of them all. Also, they're really setting up the foundations for when it hits the fan later on, especially with Okarin's trippy dream sequence. Definitely will be important later.
Other observations:
- Okarin laughing like a mad scientist in front of all the electricity. The laugh is just perfect.
- I really should take off my shipping goggles when I'm seeing lines like "Don't put something weird inside my heart"
- "Stop making a yuri field and prepare the D-mail" Seriously, the dialogues in this series are just golden.
- Also really like the serious part where Okarin drops all the mad scientist delusions and really consider the real impact of the things happening around him, especially when he shows that he really cares for Mayushii.
- Yeah, it's pretty much confirmed that Suzuha is from the future, lines like "nothing from the past, no" is a dead giveaway.
- And the weird girl with much more plot involvement this episode is Moeka. Also, not surprised at all that FaceBook is behind a mass time travel related conspiracy.
I love Okabe's ridiculous English especially the odd references like the grassy plains of Arkansas and dry riverbed of the Mississippi.
Definitely the most tense and plot-heavy ep this week. The transition is really effective here, and not at all jarring. Because the serious elements and an ominous note were always present in the lighter epis, and there was still some banter and comedy in this one. The proportions changed, that's all. And the transition between darker and lighter scenes - and even within scenes, as was the case with the flood of mails to Okarin at the end - flows smoothly and believably.
I really feel they've parceled out the secrets just right. They us enough to appear to be playing fair, and answered each question with two new ones. Great way to keep an audience hooked.
We got more blushing Kurisu, which is never enough. Along with Daru's prod at her knowledge of what a "tsundere" is and denying that she knew what is was, was HNNNNNNGGGGHHHH.
They starts actually changing the past. Almost. Winning the lottery is a decently falsifiable time travel changer, but Mayuri's idea of world peace through Upa has its merits. With every timeline that Hououin Kyouma goes through, Kurisu becomes stronger and stronger, until... opps wrong series :P.
The atmosphere turned very dark as Okarin was grappling with the sudden realization that he has the ability to retain his memories despite changing the past, able to bypass divergent timelines. The scenes where Okarin and Kurisu were alone were very sweet, and having all the members contact him to give indirect support was very touching. Okarin being messiah? MADNESS! But he is a 'god' after all~
More game bgms are used these two episodes, signifying the change in mood now.
Apparently they still continue sending d mail to the past ~ The Mad Scientist claimed that he has the Reading Steins, able to retain his memory when shifting world lines ~ .
Shining Finger after shifting the world line was never introduce to the lab.
Ruka became the Lab Member 006 ~ sending d-mail to her mom pager on what to eat? veggies for girl, meat for boys.. ~ to grant her/his wish. though the according to mad scientist. failed ~ . being attracted to
its funny though i like daru saying he's not a pervert but a pervert gentlemen when having arguments with Kurisu~ .
Oh did they get the money from the Lotto 6?
another dose of tutturu ~ makes my day great ~ . .
Yuri field extended. Instead of being Okarin's harem, it is more like Mayushi's yuri harem. Makise's orz pose and Daru's perverted antics were hilarious.
Steins;Gate just keeps getting better and better every week. Excellent episode. I liked how Okarin was genuinely worried that the D-mail Moeka sent seemed to have erased Moeka from existence, and then how Okarin was relieved that she still existed, but never came to the lab in the first place. It shows how human he is despite his eccentric personality. I won't trust her that she sent the message she said, note the IBN also disappeared. Even though the plot is starting to move now in a quicker pace, the dialogue is still golden. I laughed hard at some of the comments Daru made. And surprise, Ruka wants to be a girl so they send a D-mail to his mom's pager 17 years in the past. It seems Ruka indeed turned into a girl but Okarin doesn't seem to noticed since she's still flat-chested.
Whitefox reused old footage for the timer, it should have been 148,920 seconds.
The anime producer apparently had made a mistake back in episode 5.In the original Visual Novel,Okarin and friends learned the Jellyman experiments not by using IBN5100,instead it was Daru who hacked through SERN higher-ups' account and got the Jellyman reports from them. The IBN5100 was supposed to be used as a tool to crack the special programming language in SERN's database which can only be interpreted by IBN5100.(This will become important in the latter half of the series). Now with the disappearance of the IBN, it caused a paradox. In the anime version, they used the IBN to find the jellyman reports, Z-project and leading to the motivation to developing the D-mails. Without the IBN, they won't even sent D-mails back in the first place hence the paradox now. The VN avoided the paradox since they didn't use the IBN to discover the reports.
i see ~ different countries - different mechanics ~ ..
that's too bad~ at least they should offer prize or consolation even you missed one for the effort on manual labor of thinking and choosing numbers that might win in the lotto. . .
i didn't hear tutturu ~☆ thingy but feyris nyan nyan saves my day...
sending d-mail to the past triggered the butterfly effect~ IBN 5100 like the banana is gone~ .. the concept of it its really scary `.`. ~
Feyris nyan nyan was became a lab member ~ sending a d-mail to the past resulted the loss of anime good in akihabara ~
missing amane suzuha on the scene ~ i wonder she'll be a member as well ~ .
there are lot of laughable scene on this episode. daru okabe and feyris at the may queen. okabe and kurisu when kurisu was crying at the lab. and the okabe, at feyris residence on the phone asking kurisu to activate the Phone Microwave ~.
Hi, ramori. It seems that they fixed the game crashing bug. Would you update it when its available in your timezone? Many thanks. 崖っぷち女冒険者 to v24.11.17
