A quick cry for help in a department i don't understand. I downloaded all three parts of Nuru Puri from this site, and now i can't get them to work. Any words of wisdom? I'm using 7zip to open the files btw.

any error screenshot? what problem you're facing?

The main one I keep getting is 'unexpected end of archive', but there's also the rather blatant issue that I'm not entirely sure how to make this stuff work. I did the alteration to my language and region, that did squat.

I think the download had somehow failed. check the filesize of the archive with the original files uploaded.

I assume they are in .zip or .rar? If you can't even unpack the files then it's a good bet that your compression program is the problem.
I'd try using Winrar or something instead for the starters.
Also, make sure file names aren't gibberish.

Well, the files can be unpacked, there;s even a file saying setup, but it seems EVERy file is divided.

Well, even the games text seems to have been seperated. Explaining this really isn't my strongpoint

Hey, I'm kinda new to this forum idea and don't really know whether to "Quick Reply" or "Reply to Thread". I figure I'll grasp it soon enough though.

I already made a reply using the "Reply to Thread" option, and here is what I basically said-

If you are using Windows 7, search for a program called "Snipping Tool". It will let you take a picture of your computer screen.

Send us a picture of the error, and maybe a picture of the files you're trying to extract.
I'll do my best to help you ^_^

You can either PM me (I already PMed you) or post on this thread again, but it would probably be better to PM me instead of keeping this thread up at top, if I can fix your problem that is.

Ok, THIS is the folder for part 1 <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=wkfk1x" target="_blank"><img src="http://i46.tinypic.com/wkfk1x.png" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

Opening that, gives me this <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=35k96pg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i50.tinypic.com/35k96pg.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

Opening the top file gives me these two options <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=mcb390" target="_blank"><img src="http://i47.tinypic.com/mcb390.png" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

opening that mdf files swamps me with this <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=2rxgqh5" target="_blank"><img src="http://i47.tinypic.com/2rxgqh5.png" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

....ah damn i did that wrong

it's okay man xD If you want to put images in a forum post though, click on the image button then paste the URL :P
It makes it look alot prettier

Alright, I have a quick question: Are you trying to extract all the files inside the .mdf? If you are, that could very well be the problem.

Try moving that file to your desktop or the like and open it with this program http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html

It doesn't even give me the option to extract. Clicking on the mdf opens it, which gives me a dump of other files

Before I show you how to open the file in Clonedrive, I'll give you a brief explanation of what an .mdf file is.
.mdf files are compressed CD or DVD images, basically being the virtual equivalent of a physical CD.

These files are made when someone makes a virtual copy of a DVD they have. Even though they can be opened with programs like 7-zip, it won't do you much good- You're going to want to use it like a regular CD or DVD. This is what Clonedrive essentially does.

First, install Virtual Clone Drive. Once that is done, drag the .mdf and .mds file to your desktop or any folder.

Once you have done that, right click on the .mdf file and hit "Open With" on the right click menu. Then hit "Choose default program". (It might not have the "Choose Default Option" choice and just jump straight to the window, that's fine.)

Once you do that, a window like this one should pop up.

Make sure the "Always use this selected program to open this kind of file" box is checked, then hit browse.

Find out where your copy of Clone Drive is installed, either in Program Files or Program Files (x86).
It should be under /Elaborate Bytes/Virtualclone Drive

Open the program's folder and select the executable.

Hit done, and then hit okay.

From now on, whenever you double click on .mdf files, they will act as if you just put a CD or DVD in your drive.
This also works with .iso files, another kind of similar file to .mdf. These work without all of the complex "Open With" stuff though! Just double click and you're ready to go.

Editing this for your "Clicking on it opens it" thing. Extract the 7zip file it's inside first, then open it. Try dragging it out after that. If not, right clicking on any file 7zip works with will give you a 7zip menu that has an option to just extract it's contents.

Hope I'm being helpful here D: PM me with your results!

Daemon Tools will work, though I don't like it to much. Bundled with their stupid spyware. (Used to, not sure now. Though Mountspace doesn't exactly appeal to me, especially since you really can't turn it 'Off'. At least when you turn it off, it collects anonymous data.)

You should be able to double click on the file and it will open in daemon tools. If not, try doing what I explained with Clonedrive except with daemon tools. Make sure you get the .mdf and .mds out of the 7zip by themselves!

Also, I remember you mentioning another error you got from 7-zip at one point. If you could go into detail about that, I'd appreciate it.

I think I'll try this in the morning. If there's anything mor eyou can offer me, please do say

A-hardie , I have one other suggestion. If you're having trouble extracting the .mdf, then you should try downloading the game again from somewhere else, if you can. Try to find a torrent of it, or a different packager.

If you want me to help you out tomorrow, shoot me a PM again, and I'll help out. Good Night ^_^

Smart man, smart man ;)

Just look at my little mini tutorial to figure out how to mount mdf's with it

my daemon tools isn't that bad, what's the problem?
