I don't know, the PSV/PS4 port of popular moege isn't that rare of an occurrence (at least I see them when I boot up the JP PS Store but maybe I'm being targeted?), and that means no fapping material at all, contrary to the Steam version than can be patched. There must still be a public for those. I mean if all you want is the porn might as well watch some hentai OVA or something, no?

Eushully does't really make dating simulation though, they're tactics/crafting games at heart and the ecchi scenes just come naturally as one progresses through those gameplay elements, they're not really something you need to strive for.
As for Alicesoft, most of their simulation games are filled with NTR content so... not for me.

I'd like to note that while Eushully isn't a dating sim you still need to put some effort to unlock many side off stories and h scene (which most of the time includes confusing puzzles) yet it feels worth it as your efforts are real and not as superficial as just picking some options but having to grind, collect items, defeat bosses, pick the right option especially in the 戦女神 series (which is a masterpiece for me)

I'm with kzel on this one. simulation games (for me) is just too bothersome like the early cation series (haven't played it though but i heard that the very first one doesn't even gives you hints for what unlocks what)
But I loved the simulation aspects of the early xCation! There were some hints for some of the events, but you HAD to pay attention to every tiny bit of dialogue or daily life scene. Notice the heroine talking about something? Try to boost up this particular area, or buy the items she talks about beforehand, and see if there's any change. Most of the time, not, but for the few that there is, it's so rewarding. I really like when games entice players to actually read the text (no surprise I love investigation novels like Ace Attorney and Danganronpa), and not just dumbly click to advance the story and get the happy harem ending without even getting to know any of the heroines.

what about 新妻LOVELY×CATION? it's the only cation series i've ever played and i really liked it (though the stats thing really confuses me what unlocks what), have you played it? I heard that the whole stats things gets nerfed before this one but is it still relevant to unlock special scenes? also Yuki best girl

aside from peoples that often post in this corner... many people play those genre just for the moe-chara fap materials, as proof 90% of them always asked for savedata in the day the game was release.

...wonder if they even know Japanese because these almost never come translated...

Can't remember why exactly would I opt to read instead of just get savedata though......

I believe there's a fundamental difference between the majority of people who hang around the download section of this site and beg for savedata at the first occasion, and people actually willing to fork over $100 for a visual novel. Not saying there's not some overlap between the two, but I imagine the two populations are quite apart. I can't say I've actually spent that much money on these game, but for those that I did, I know it was certainly not just for the art or the porn. Although when you consider the amounts some people spend on gacha porn games on DMM, $100 is like a drop of water in a bucket.

Niiduma is a little particular because on top of the usual item and stat requirement, hibiki-works introduced a RANDOM element in the order of home-events, and some of these events need to be seen before a certain date to unlock some of the (h or not) scenes. Meaning you NEED to savescum to get the right home-events before a certain date. I know I managed to complete Yuki (best girl indeed) on my own on normal taking tons of notes, but for the other two (especially Aiko) I think I resorted to a walkthrough for some of the more obscure requirements. If I remember right the stats don't really matter too much once married, it's the items/conversations/wedding level that matters most.

The only thing noticeable about the stats is that high endurance will results in a short extra during certain h scene other than that i dont know what the stats does. Yes, the random events are quite hard to time but its also supposedly require certain affection level. my highest affection level for Yuki was 9. I think ur supposed to engage in certain h to get 10 affection?

Going off my memory of the game from two years ago so, maybe not 100% accurate, but here goes. Bonus H-scene extensions with the correct stats has been a staple of the xCation series from the very beginning, usually the three that matter are : Endurance , for second round/amount; Agility, for your partner's enjoyment; and Affection, usually enabling some "unsafe" behavior, not so much in Niiduma where it's the norm but for the games involving students. Affection is usually directly linked to the total of every other stat, although I believe there is some weighting depending on the heroine (Yuki may favor knowledge and culture over sports?). Looking back at my saves it seems I only managed to get Yuki to affection 9 on Normal, but had it at 10 by early December on Easy. I'm pretty sure 9 was enough to unlock everything (CG & scenes pages filled), maybe I missed a bonus here and there but contrary to the other games it's not easy to check other than reading the whole scenes.

remember the rain events? if you decided to go out during the rain a stranger going to sell you adult items and (maybe) it will unlock something? I can't get Yuki to do the h with her school maid outfit, perhaps this event will max her affection? In any case i dont know what to feel when they ended the cation series, i mean 如月真綾の誘惑 is good and all but its a nukige and なちゅらるばけーしょん for me is just below standard for a hibiki game, i mean i like inaka settings and all but its story and romance development is so bland and despite the 2 different personalities of the heroine for me they're too generic

also, i just finished tomefure. for me it's the funniest eroge i've ever played (previously that title goes to あえて無視するキミとの未来), the art is ok (the lack of variations for the standup cg is disturbing) and the story is... unique. it kinda makes me go deep and think about the concept of tomefure system itself. some might not like how it turned out but for me its quite a good end

I think for Yuki's maid event you actually need level 10 on top of the item requirements. At least the scene starts fine at level 10 but at 9 the protagonist says it's not the time yet.

Don't get me started on the xCation series of we'll never see the end of it. Yeah it's a shame that it ended, but I'm rather positive it's mostly due to Niiduma's catastrophic launch, earning it the nickname BugxCation (in large part due to the parent company forcing a new engine/DRM combo on the studio few months before release). That relegated hibiki-works to second rate projects, first with a bland Natural Vacation and then the insipid Oneechan no Yuuwaku was the last straw (good? what exactly was good apart from the art? it's the worse kind of nukige, with completely empty characters that only exist for sex). If you enjoyed Niiduma you should play the xCation series entirely, maybe skip PrettyxCation 1, and unless you're prepared for something natsy don't step anywhere near Yuni's route in LovelyxCation 1.
From the writer's explanation in the visual book, he intentionally made the protagonist a complete and total dick to make the contrast to Yuni's angelic personality that much apparent. Unless you enjoy playing a monster of a teenager taking advantage of a sweet girl don't play this route.
We talked about tomefure a few pages back. I didn't find it that funny, but that's very subjective. If you like that kind of humor give Asa Project games a try, the writer worked on a few of those, I personally recommend Hitotsu Tobashi Renai for those that he did collaborate on.

Ugh, personally it was way more annoying than funny for me.

Speaking of Asaproject, I'm not sure If I ever posted anything about it here but their lastest game かりぐらし恋愛 was pretty great. I remember posting some complains about スキとスキとでサンカク恋愛 here and saying how I found it as their worst game for a couple reasons, and this time it felt like they literally read my complains and fixed all those stuff.

Involving all heroines' families and letting MC stay with each of them was already a pretty good setting, but when you include AsaProject's humor and all the uniquess that each family have into that I just couldnt stop reading it even a second. Of course as always their heroine routes need a little more improvement and there were a couple annoying details here and there, but overall it was a huge quality jump from their last two games, Sankaku Ren'ai and Puramai wars. Hell I'd probably count this as their second best game if hitotsu tobashi didnt have Aori in it.

Apparently at their next game we are getting a teacher and a threesome route with twins so I'm definitely looking forward to it as well. Also the theme of their next game feels kinda similiar to Karigurashi so that is another plus for me.

On the other hand this month seems really dull tho, there is literally only one game to play, Tone work's new title 月の彼方で逢いましょう. Well its a pretty big title so its okay I suppose. Next month is pretty good so it kinda covers it anyway, We are going to get Koihime's Shoku part, Marmalade, Clochotte, 3rdeye, Asaproject's new games, Nukitashi2 and a couple other titles. 流星ワールドアクター seems interesting as well.

Also about Nukitashi, Did anyone here played it actually? I couldnt find any time to try but its a pretty big title and very popular for some reason, if anyone has played I'd like to some thoughts about it.

Karigurashi is up there for me as well as one of Asa Project's better games. The only complaint I have is everything Ayaka related (character, family, humor, protagonist behavior toward her, etc...). Best part of her route is her little sister branch. Out of curiosity what do you consider the best Asa Project game?

I played it. Well, not to the end but about two third of it. Not really looking forward to more.

Upcoming releases : will probably play 月の彼方で逢いましょう, will this be the first tonework's I manage to finish? Other than that, might try 黄昏のフォルクローレ (writer can make good things when they don't involve little sister rape), and Sugar*Style 恋人以上夫婦未満アフターストーリー!!, even though it's the fandisk for one of the worst SMEE games (and one I haven't even finished), it's still SMEE... maybe it will manage to fix the game, however unlikely as SMEE FDs tend to be super short.

the only things that piqued me for bought this game was yukito saori...

Well, the art off course and the seiyu and the itazura nee-chan images they created. off course, story wise its bad but for a nukige where you just mostly want to fap story doesn't really matter. take もっと!孕ませ!炎のおっぱい異世界エロ魔法学園!for example, the story in this nukige barely exist. it have a very plentiful and nice art (also seiyu) but i also find it infuriating that there's more text in this game than voices (the girls voiced dialogue though hot and obscene were very few compared to the annoying text monologue of the MC, like who the fck cares about what the MC, a dude think)

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind

i once played スキとスキとでサンカク恋愛 during my early days of japanese learning but dropped it due to my lack of understanding back than and now was kinda interested to played it again so tell me, how is it? what would you compare it with?
also regarding かりぐらし恋愛 i also dropped it when find out how the MC house burned and all and he kinda became isoro, is it really that good? was it only annoying at the beginning?

If I had to choose just one I'd probably choose 0kilo as their best one, but to be honest I'd like to go with "better / worse" type categorising for Asaproject since all better ones (0kilo, hitotsu tobashi renai and Karigurashi for me) are very close to each other so its really hard to choose one, and worse ones arent really that bad when you compare with other companies' games as well.

Also a little off topic but I'd be really glad if they milk their products a little more, like other companies. 0kilo and Hitoren definitely had potantial of it at least.

About Nukitashi, well to be honest it doesnt seem like my cup of tea so I didnt try it until now, and your comment felt like I did the right choice. I may give a try at some point but doesnt really expect anything now.

As I said above I wouldnt really recommend Sankaku Renai as the first asaproject game you'll read. The game itself isn't bad when you compare with other companies' games, but among Asaproject games its definitely one of the worse ones and wouldn't be a good start for it.

About Karigurashi and their other games, well I definitely recommend you to try 恋愛0キロメートル first. Asaproject is an unique company which has a humor of its own and pretty different than others so with 0kilo you'll able to see that if you like their style or not. Most of their games are the same style anyway so if you like 0kilo I'd recommend pretty much all of their games, If you dont no need to bother with any of their titles. Personally I enjoy them and read almost all of their games, they are not at masterpiece level but definitely funny and enjoyable for my tastes.

cool. to be honest i really liked love triangle romance (especially if u can get them both) and kinda having a hard time finding good ones that isn't just plain nukige with boring story, any you'd recommend?

no love for sakurako? also her seiyu voice is super duper ultra mega cute w

i don't recall a character named sakurako... or seiyu named like that?
could you enlight me, which one the character was?

People that actually read VNs and not just wack off & leave seem to be a rare breed indeed...and you came in making a loud bang...
