Haha I've noticed that a good number of magic girl shows or movies to the shows tend to have dark/darker stories.

Yes, in the Pretty Cure/PreCure movies (not the All Stars specials) the writers seem to take a more serious tone to the stories. But in the DokiDoki movie, they really dug deep into trauma and angst.

Not as deep as Puella Magi Madoka Magica, of course. ;)

Re-watching select episodes of Happiness Charge PreCure.

Not the best season, but it has some bright spots. Good characterization, artwork reminiscent of Heartcatch PreCure. A fun watch, overall.

Hime is a gem! :)

Started Kyoukai no kanata seems pretty good but I just can't stand that guys fetish for glasses but that's just my personal opinion. Other than that the MC is pretty funny and knows how to reply. The plot itself is pretty bad for know (Fell half asleep a a point:yawn:) but it's starting to get better. Definitely give it a try if you can survive the classic and boring plot twists for 4~5 episodes :)

One of the most interesting examples of character development is Hime/Cure Princess.

She starts out as a

scared, shy loser, who doesn't believe in herself,

in episode 1, but slowly

develops a wonderful sense of self worth.

In contrast, by episode 34, she

has blossomed into a confident, powerful heroine, fully the equal of the other PreCure.

It's a good life's lesson to watch Hime's

growth as a person

throughout the series.
