Rewatching select episodes of Fresh Pretty Cure.
An interesting Pretty Cure season, where the current team battles a modern version of Big Brother. George Orwell would have smiled at Fresh Pretty Cure. ;)
Where should i start with the Pretty Cure series ?
In theory, you could start in any season at all. The overall theme of Pretty Cure/Precure, is that a group of teenage girls are given great powers to fight a major villain who wants to destroy or rule all.
Each season is self contained, which means a new team is recruited to fight a new villain each season. It goes from origins to resolution. Next season, new girls, new powers, new threat, etc. Each season is done by different writers, artists, and producers, so each is distinctly different.
An interesting general detail, is that the bad guys are usually as well developed, story-wise, as the Cure teams.
That way, you can watch any season, without having to watch previous seasons for context.
Among my favorite seasons are Fresh Pretty Cure, Heartcatch Precure, and DokiDoki Precure, though I like them all.
Depending on your tastes,
In Fresh Pretty Cure, a villain from a parallel world collects the unhappiness of others, to awaken an infinite computer memory source that will allow him to rule all parallel worlds.
In HeartCatch Precure, the villain is turning planets into desert wastelands, and now it's Earth's turn.
In DokiDoki Precure, the villain spreads selfishness from planet to planet, taking control of worlds. The conflict spreads from a world almost lost, to Earth.
You might watch the first couple of episodes of these three, to see what best suits your fancy, but if I had to say which is the best one to watch first, I'd recommend HeartCatch Precure.
In HeartCatch Precure, the growth of Cure Blossom from shy and introverted, the "weakest Precure ever," to a strong focus of the team, is quite nice!

Thanks guys!
As is probably obvious, my favorite anime genre is Magical Girl. :)

If you're still undecided about which PreCure season to start with, here are the OPs for each of the three I mentioned, so you can compare their art and musical stylings.
Hope this helps! :)
Edit: Sorry guys, screwed up on DokiDoki. I've fixed it. :)
