A question: Episode 12 certainly seemed to end the series, but I see sources that say it's a 13 episode series. Is there one more regular episode to go, or does that refer to the unaired OVA due out this spring?

Yep, The Amphisbaena story was pretty good. At the halfway point, Strike the Blood shows great promise. Next week, Labyrinth of the Blue Witch 1.

Okay, that finishes the first season, covering the first 3 of 12 (so far) light novels. I know it's way early, the season just ended, and the DVD isn't even out yet, but does anyone know if a second season is being planned?

It's a clever, well done show, and there's plenty of material for future seasons. I'd like to see further anime adaptations of it.
