Eh, to be honest I bought that one DLC in particular largely to fill out the experience out in the Eastern steppes. I have been playing Catholics in Lombardy and Bavaria lately, so I haven't anything to say about the nomads over there yet. As for the rest of the game itself I'd say that it's fun, though I am certainly not the best qualified to speak from a 'professional CK2 player' point of view since I love abusing the Ruler Designer and console. I do dumb things like playing female rulers and marrying historical characters in regular marriages (which would be pretty much be a dead end gameplay-wise), playing nuns, turning the whole realm into a virtuous utopia of perfect humans, ruling a socialist kingdom, tolerating heretics and heathens, etc.

I'd say wait for the Steam sale and get the CK2 Collection edition, it'll come bundled with a lot of the DLC on the cheap.
