What things you usually do when you get depressed?

When I was in College, going through my "sensitive-ponytailed-boy" phase, I almost raised depression (paradoxically) into an art-form. Lotsa wine ... lotsa depressing music on the stereo. I would become a recluse. No contact with family or friends. A good friend will kick you in the butt and tell you to "get over yourself", but every time I end up picking myself up, test the waters, then dive in.
Even though our problems may be meaningless in the grand scheme of things, it's still a terrible yet beautiful world surrounding us. Just one step in front of the other, then slowly raise your head ... the spirit will follow.
Remember to laugh and breathe.

I usually watch japanese fetish porn, read hentai manga, or watch (real) idol performances to release stress and forget that im human.
 
Try to remember that I am not alone and that I do have people that care about me. Although, I still don't have a special girl, that it is not the end of the world. Then I watch a comedy special on Netflix.
 
All the comments here are good and helpful, however, if you still feel about being depressed, I advise for you to seek mental therapy/consultation. Depression is not easy to cure illness. Also as some of our fellow friends said here, it determines how we are going to continue with our lives, so seeking medical attention is the best way to fight against depression.

I am hoping that you get to fight this one, my friend. Life is precious, not even sure if we get to live another life after this, but it's definitely worth to live your life to the fullest and to witness how us humans will go far along the way. Cheers.
 
Hello, I usually read and paint because reading helps me switch my attention to something else for a while and then I can go back to the problem at hand sometime later and try and solve it. And I paint because it helps with creativity and when you are in a sticky situation like what you said you need creativity to try and find a solution. Also when I paint I can feel productive because usually I give my paintings as gifts afterwards and they give joy to other people. I am usually down when I feel that I am not needed and alone so for me being needed is a key against depression.
 
Always go into good routine to reduce stress and other negative impacts on my mental state.

That way I can reduce and sometimes minimize the amount of negative feedback cycle if I fall into that state of mind. If I can, I would try and interrupt and do something to create a positive feedback cycle to get out of it, if it gets too much.

there is nothing a man cant do so take a short break a reset urself and make aims for ur near future and hard work on it
