While I found SMC to be decent, it lacks the character development found in the manga. It seems to make the assumption the viewer is familiar with the characters.

I recently bought the Monster Girl Encyclopedia Vol 1 at Books A Million. It's a Hardcover 240 page book featuring 100 Monster Girls with detailed information on each one. Highly recommended if you like Monster Girls.
