Zads signature practice

i think my thing is the blur, i dunno i love adding it around the character XD, and i just uploaded the newest one too, i tried using the burn and blur tool on the background i think it turned out well, at least the image not the text XD

You (and a lot of members here) seem to think that a signature is a: 'complex'/c4d background coupled with a character render at the edge or somewhere, and a text slapped onto them.
A (great) signature is one that stands out with a new formula or idea, this is were one's creativity kicks in.

But to be honest, they are better than my first attempts at signatures; back in 2008, I made my first one, and it was more less the same formula as above, albeit a bit worse. I remember using PS to put the render in front of the background, then I used MS Paint and Arial font for my username.

For superior signature ideas, please have inspiration from mine :D.

I agree with just about everything you said, other than I think your signature is junk.

Looks good ;) nice keep going ;)

thanks again dark, and i just need a background for my next signature XD

-Your signatures are a bit too diverse with the sizes. For a 500x300 pixel signature, use as much of the space as possible.
-Keep practicing with the rendering. I see squares where they shouldn't be, such as the curved parts.
-The background doesn't need to have complex designs. Simple solid color backgrounds work just as well.
-Use high quality images every single time. A high quality background won't synchronize well with a standard quality character image.
-Have some fun with it. Adding things, such as borders and odd designs, catch the eyes and may even improve your signature making skills.

Those are just the things I saw that needed a bit of touching up on. Practice makes perfect!

again thanks, just finished my new signature, deadman wonderland theme =D

the girl's character has not good quality also i think you used to mutch stork or outer glow? to the girl also i liked the transparency of tho other character :)

no idea what stork is, but i wanted to see what adding a red blur would do for it, turns out it ruined the hair, should have left it after the cut out cuz it looked decent after that alone >.<

zad38; well i left behind me the cropping tools such like magnetic lasso and the other tools. So i do the redering by my self with the eraser tool so this way it way more difficult and more painfull but the edge of the emage is so smooth and perfect that the time you spend to do the corping the image worth the pain :D

i use the pen tool then go over it with the eraser, or i shrink a pixel and delete, depends what turns out better tbh

Well i prefer the eraser and i put the magnify the image 1200% and with slowly steps i am erasing the background image around the character and i am trying not to los the black border line of the edge of the character and the background ;)

hmm, i was in at 1600% earlier when i was using the pen tool around shiro, it turned out nicely, but the i mucked it up trying to add the colour and blur effect, should have just left it...

the reason i dont like the eraser on gimp is it leaves a fade effect and i might have to go over 1 dot like 5 times to fully erase it >.<

yeap but some times this will work on advantage for mor smooth edge i am near at 70% of my redering Leo-Sama :) i will upload to see the progress :)

fair enough guess ill give the eraser a try in my next practice then =D

well cause i am too tired today i stop the redering here

take a look of the progress

here the PNG file
