Maybe the video itself is damaged, try getting it again from another source and try it on the PS3, if not, then use Format Factory to convert it to any of the following file types:
AVI
Motion JPEG (Linear PCM)
Motion JPEG (u-Law)
MP4 File Format
H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile (AAC LC)
DivX and VC-1 (WMV)6

Also try updating the system software version.
If it's a mp4 video it should be read well in the ps3, if it's not working as it should then you should reformat it to a mp4 version compatible with ps3, try with "Format Factory".

No, you maybe really need more RAM
Just install as any program, run setup.exe and follow the steps, if it doesn't runs or runs with problems, then you'll need more RAM, because 512 Mb is not enough RAM for these games
