Yes, DS9 was a fine show, as all Roddenberry created ST shows were. For example, let's face it, Enterprise sucked... royally.
One of the charms of DS9 was the ongoing storylines, which developed over several episodes. STTNG was, by comparison, for the most part, done in a story of the week format. The two shows tended to appeal to different audiences.
