I kinda disagree with your policy of 'Seeding is due to complete on Monday as a measure against transloading.'
Don't misunderstand, I was not waiting for this particular game and you have a right to act however you like. But this behavior is too childish... in the end, what's your gain? Some stupid self-satisfaction of 'I put a thousand peers on hold for three days because I wished so"?
Sorry, too stupid and illogical for me. Deleting torrent from my client and waiting tilll someone else reuploads it (you don't really believe everyone will honor no-reuploading condition?).
Be serious. If you want to share the game - share it. If you want to hoard it all to yourself - do not share it at all. If you want some credit - insert a txt file or description into iso. Currently sharing it in such a half-assed way is too stupid
p.s. heh. all those 5000 peers's feelings will seriously harm your karma. Not that I care about it, just having fun thinking about it
Simply because they do not honor no-reuploading, I offered that they can copy but only after 2 weeks, and the answer was no. So we will take all the peers first so they are left with less, or better, none.
Putting a txt file / description into iso is useless because they will just remove it and put in their own.
You are free to download from someone else, and you will certainly get it later than downloading from us.
I believe that provide a game with 3-5 days of delayed seeding is better than having everyone wait for 10-14 days as before.
For the karma, we are the ONLY source of several games out there. It is explicit enough we tell everyone the seeding will be completed on a certain date.
You get to know
1. We will start seeding the game on X date
2. We will finish seeding the game on Y date
Which we believe is far better than wasting time, sitting in front of Share/Nyaa/PD/freenet all-day for weeks to come, hoping a game will come out, and then the same on when will it finish. It is less stress for everyone.
You can suggest any workable way we are listening. You may not accept our way right now but you will eventually once we monopolize the scene. Not happy with that scenario? They can always buy their own game and release. Then we will copy their release within 5 minutes, and they will be begging us NOT to copy. If they treat us this way surely we can do the same. Fair enough.
