Which Is Better Airbus A380 Or Boeing 747

In My Opinion The Airbus A380 Is Better,Its New,Bigger,Higher Capacity,Stability And Comfort.

Boeing Is Trying To Keep Up The Fight With Airbus Over The Giant Planes War,With Their New Upgraded Version Of The Old Boeing 747-400,Which Is The Boeing 747-8.The Boeing 747-8 Is Longer Than The Airbus A380 Thats For Sure,Still The Airbus A380 Is Bigger^-^

So The Airbus Vs Boeing Wars Continue^-^

Between these two planes, the A380 is obviously more advanced and has better fuel economy, so it wins. But Boeing is taking a different approach with the 787. I think the 787 is a superior plane to the A380. It fits the needs of more air lines. The A380 is taking the idea of the hub and spoke system to the ultimate, but the 787 is embracing the new point to point (direct flights) that the modern travelers want.

Never been in both of planes, yet. The Airbus looks rather 'heavy' compared to 747, but that just from my point of view.
Recently, I started to have fear while flying, which is kinda strange, considering I did tried to join the Air Force to become a pilot.
A friend of my once told me that, the fear was from the fact that I'm not in control of the plane , and not the flying itself.

If I was given choice to choose which plane I rather be in, I would choose the good ol' B-17. They didn't built planes like they used to nowadays.

Hmm Even You Are Interested In Fighter Jets Eh,Btw That Is World War 2 An Age Long Past,The Good Old B-17 Flyingfortress Is No Longer A Part Of Today's Military Or Commercial Aviation,So You Will Have To Choose Something Else:P

Well,The Whalejet Airbus A380 Is A Full Double Deck SuperJumbo,While The 747 Is 1 And A Quarter Deck Jumbo,So Of Course It's Heavier,Way Much More Capacity,Wider Space,Enough To Put Hotel Rooms,Shower Rooms,Bars,Wide Space Relaxing Lounges/Halls,A Whole Duty Free Shop And Many More Depending On What Each Airline's A380 Customer Chooses To Install Inside Their A380^-^

You Must Fly On The Airbus A380 Alex. She Is Huge,She Is Smooth,She Is Awesome And She Is Very Quiet,Unlike The Boeing 747,The Airbus A380 Doesn't Take As Much Pressure And Turbulence As The Boeing 747 Does,She Is Very Solid And Stable With Very Minor Air Pressure And Turbulence Once In A Blue Moon^-^

Ever saw a plane that lost a tail stabilizer or half of it's wings and still managed to returned home from Germany to England, with only 2 out of 4 engine running? Nope? Neither do I. :P
But B-17 known to have many experiences almost similar like that. That's coz they're designed to be able to take damage and still complete their mission.

rudder1.gif

This B-17 had it's rudder and part of the tail removed by the propeller of another B-17.

tail1.gif

"Hang the Expense Again III" was seen heavily damaged, going down over France. The pilot, however, was able to bring it out of a dive and struggled back to his home field. The blast damage blew the tail gunner out of the aircraft but he survived the incident.

torn-in2.gif

The B-17 "All American" (414th Squadron, 97BG) flown by Lieutenant Kenneth R. Bragg, its tail section almost severed by a collision with an enemy fighter, flew 90 minutes back to its home base, landed safely and broke in two after landing.

The same B-17 as above, now on the ground.

Sorry for the off topic.

Sorry for the off topic.

It's Ok,Your Still On Topic,Despite Diverting From Commercial Aircraft To Military Aircraft,Its Still A Boeing Aircraft Nonetheless,It's Just That This Plane Is Very Ancient,Yes I Admit It Has A Very Good History Back In Those Ancient WWII Days.Military Aviation Was Never My Favourite^-^

Airbus A380 Updates

So Far Airbus Has Lived Up To Its Expectations With Only Minor Delays,All Airbus A380 Aircraft Promised For Delivery In 2011 Are All Safely Delivered And Now In Service^-^

26 Airbus A380's Delivered In 2011,So Much Better Compared To 2010 When They Only Delivered 18 Airbus A380's^-^

Now Its Time For The Airbus A380 Deliveries And Services In 2012^-^

Well,To Start Off Most Of The Slots At Airbus For The Airbus A380's This Year Are Mainly For Emirates(EK),As They Receive More,The Airline's Demand For The Whalejets Goes Higher,They Expect A Total Of 44 Airbus A380's In Their Fleet By Q3-Q4 2013,Due To That Fact,Qatar Airways Gets Delayed For Their Airbus A380 Services To 2013 Originally Promised For 2012,Thai Airways Barely Makes It Into The 2012 Slots With 1 To 2 Slots At Max For The Thai Airways Airbus A380's This Year,Malaysia Airlines So Far There Are Already 3 Malaysia Airlines Airbus A380's In Production For The 2012 Slots With 4th Slot Due To Arrive In Convoy To Toulouse France Sometime Sooner Or Later This Year.Malaysia Airlines,Thai Airways And Qatar Airways Are The New Launch Customers For 2012,So That Makes Qatar Airways The Only Customer For 2012 Delayed To 2013.All The 5 Remaining Singapore Airlines(SIA) Airbus A380's For Delivery This Year Are Complete,All Of Them Will Delivered To Singapore Airlines This Year^-^

Emirates(EK) Is Expanding Their Airbus A380 Growth Plan Even Higher,Most Of The Asia Hubs Are Their Main Targets This Year,Despite Malaysia Airlines Getting Their 1st Airbus A380 In April To Jun 2012,Malaysia's Airbus A380 Service Experience Starts Now In The New Year With The Emirates Airbus A380.Emirates Is Going To Hub Malaysia As A Permanent Airbus A380 Service Destination,Bangkok Thailand Has Already Been The Emirates Airbus A380 Hub For 2 To 3 Years Already,Emirates Airbus A380's Will Also Hub Tokyo Japan In July 2012,It Won't Be Long Before Emirates Makes Singapore One Of Their Airbus A380 Hubs As Well,Singapore Already Has Qantas And Lufthansa As A Permanent Airbus A380 Hub Partners As Well As Their Own Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 That Serves Singapore. So This Makes Emirates Airbus A380's And Malaysia's Own Malaysia Airlines Airbus A380's Permanent Airbus A380 Hubs In Malaysia^-^

Airbuses are great planes... only if the pilots are that great and know how to take advantage of the FBW technologies it offers. Technical specs wise... The A380 is indeed a massive aircraft... however not many airports can support this type effectively (And that starts at the runway and gates)

Otoh, the 747 can be handled by practically any international airport class airport because the 747 has been around for that long, not to mention that the 747 is truly a classic to many avation enthusiasts, mechanics and pilots.

On my side of things, I'd choose the MD-11 any day...

Hmm after reading that idk what to choose x.x Usually my parents go for the cheapest ticket :/

Heh, there's always Russian Antov's that beat the size of the 747 and the A380 alone. And oh, in Russia, the plane flies you. :P

On the comfort side of things, the A380 is just superior in every aspect to the 747.

Quieter, more space in all cabins, newer facilities, Less obvious during turbulences, better airflow throughout, and better fuel economy.

Its size is also a downside though, unloading passengers takes longer than other planes, some smaller airports doesn't support its size etc. And another issue I can think of is whether there's enough passengers to take advantage of its fuel economy :x (especially during non-peak seasons/periods)

Also, I hardly see any 747s anymore, it's usually just 777s~

Sorta... There's one thing that an Airbus can't beat in a Boeing: Versatility in most airports. And comfort, AYFKM? Really, there's no comfort in Commercial air travel these days.

Quieter, more space in all cabins, newer facilities, Less obvious during turbulences, better airflow throughout, and better fuel economy.

The 747-8 is going to do what the airbus A380 tried to do: Fuel efficiency. The 744's already had winglets on them and more composite materials on it. And no, turbulence is still evident, it's just up to the pilot to divert away from the turbulence. Try being on an A340 with a typhoon right in front of you :P

Also, I hardly see any 747s anymore, it's usually just 777s~

Guess how much it is to maintain 4 engines verus 2 engines? And don't forget, the last major revision boeing did to their 747's was back in the mid 80's when they finalized the 747-400 (aka 744) series with upgraded avionics and winglets, really.

Thank to Chaos overlord XIX for your informations. Airbus A380 Or Boeing 747 i like both but with me Airbus A380 is better. I have tried boeing 747 but Airbus A380 never. Everyone could tell me about your feeling when in A380. Thanks

Supremely Yes Indeed Nothing More Needs To Be Said^-^

Fuel Consumption Is Too High As Its An Old JumboJet Created In The 80's,Most Airlines Cannot Afford To Maintain And Use The Boeing 747-400's Anymore,Thats Why 777's Become Temporary Replacements,Singapore Airlines Has Already Put All Their Boeing 747-400's Out Of Comission For All Eternity,Singapore Airlines(SIA) Even Gave The Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400's A Memorial Video After All It's Years Of Good Services,Malaysia Airlines And Thai Airways Are Going To Do The Same Thing,As Of Right Now Only 1 Or 2 Of The Remaining Boeing 747-400's From Both Malaysia Airlines And Thai Airways Are Still In Use While The Other Malaysia Airlines Boeing 747-400's And Thai Airways Boeing 747-400's Are Already Put Into Permanent Retirement,Temporary Replacements Boeing 777's Have Been Deployed To Take Over The Routes,Malaysia Airlines And Thai Airways Are Waiting For Their SuperJumbo Airbus A380 WhaleJets To Arrive Soon This Year,Then Both Malaysia Airlines And Thai Airways Are Going To Put All Their Boeing 747-400's To Eternal Sleep^-^

Talking about the brand per se, I think that Airbus seems to be getting the upper hand between the two. Though I must agree that Boeing has been there for years now, though the recent fame goes to Airbus' side.

I had the chance to ride both and I must say that the efficiency and novel idea the A380s' pack is really nice and superb and probably one that is reserve for topnotch execution.

The US Air Force is considering of replacing the Air Force One with either 747-8 or A380.
How many of you hoping to see an Air Force One version of A380?
I for one believe that A380 would be a good choice for the next Air Force One, considering it size. More space mean more equipments can be install, since Air Force One also act as Mobile Command Centre in the event of an attack on the United States.
But since A380 is a foreign-made plane, chances of it to be choose as the next Air Force One is very slim.

Boeing 747 Updates

Well,Now There Is At Least 1 Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental In The Skies,Boeing Finally Delivers The 1st Boeing 747-8I To Lufthansa,I Don't Know How This Is Going To Turn Out In The Giant Plane Market War,There Are Only A Total Of 27 Boeing 747-8I's On Order,36 To Be Precise But 9 Are For Private Customers VIP Private Usage Therefore Those 9 Shall Not Be Counted^-^

While Airbus Has A Total Of 252 Airbus A380's On Order For The Giant Plane Industrial War,253 To Be Precise 1 Airbus A380 Is For VIP Private Usage That Rightfully Belongs To His Royal Highness Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal Of KSA,The One And Only Person In This World To Purchase His Own Private SuperJumbo Airbus A380 Whalejet^-^

252 Superjumbo Giant Airbus A380 WhaleJets VS 27 Jumbo Giant Boeing 747-8I Queen Of The Skies Doesn't Make Sense At All,It's A Total Complete Annihilation Loss To Boeing^-^

It Has Already Come To The Conclusion That Boeing Has Already Lost The Battle For The Best Civil Aviation Giant Plane War Since The 1st Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 Was Born In 2007.Look On The Bright Side,Back In The 90's To The Early 2000's Boeing Was Dominating With The Boeing 747-400's Boeing 777's Boeing 737's While Airbus Was In A Tight Situation Trying To Keep Up The Fight With The Airbus A340's Airbus A330's And Airbus A320's^-^

Now The Tables Have Been Turned,Its Boeing's Turn To Feel The Pressure,Loss And Tight Situations,Their Only Hope And Option To Catch Up Is To Deliver Lots Of Boeing 787 Dreamliners To Keep Them Fighting On,Now It's Only Fair That Airbus And EADS Rises To The Top And Gets The Supreme Highlight All The Fame Glory And Dominance,Because Airbus And EADS Have Earned It.In Technology Nothing Lasts Forever,There Will Be A Time To Rise And A Time To Fall^-^

Nonetheless Congratulations To Boeing On Their 1st Boeing 747-8I Delivery^-^

Hmm...is it just me or does something is missing in MAS decal?
It seem like MAS' Airbus lack red in it's color. The 'kite' look too bluey without it's red.

Malaysia Airlines Is Quite Controversial As The Airline Has Been Through A Lot Of Tight Situations,Recently A 2nd Merger Deal Attempt From Qantas To Merge With Malaysia Airlines Went Sore Again,The First Deal Was Discussed In 2008 When Qantas Attempted To Merge With Malaysia Airlines To Save The Airline Like How Air France Merged With KLM To Form Air France-KLM,Apparently Malaysia Airlines Is Reluctant And Refuses To Form Malaysia Airlines-Qantas As Qantas Is An Oceania Airline,Qantas Itself Is Not Doing So Well With All Its Losses Especially The Qantas Airbus A380 Problems And Fleet Groundings,Qantas Asked For Too Much Demands And Share Portions Which Malaysia Airlines Couldn't Accommodate,The 2nd Deal Recently This Year Qantas Tried To Persuade Malaysia Airlines To Merge Again In Hopes That Someday They Can Form A 3rd Airline Together Under The Malaysia Airlines-Qantas Alliance,That Too Went Sore Because Both Airlines Did Not Meet Each Others Requirements And Expectations On Both Sides,Then Malaysia Airlines Also Has Swap Share Problems With The Low Cost Airline Air Asia That Also Ended The Relationship Between Malaysia Airlines And Air Asia,So Now Malaysia Airlines Is Trying All Their Best To Come Up With A New Image New Colours And New Livery For The Airline And It Starts With The Malaysia Airlines Airbus A380.

Thats All I'm Going To Say As I Don't Like To Discuss About Controversial Airline Or Controversial Aircraft Situations Here,I'm Not Going To Discuss Further Because I Don't Want This Thread To Get Flooded With All Sorts Of Stupid Rubbish Unless The Members In This Forum Know How To Behave And Discuss Things On A Proper Level Without Jokes And Laughter,I Only Discuss All These Situations With The Members In Airliners Forum As The Members In Airliners Forum Are Well Behaved They Know How To Discuss Things Seriously On A Proper Level,Aircrafts And Airline's Are No Laughing Matters,These Flying Companies And Flying Machines Carry Human's Lives And Safety,Which Is Why Nobody Dares To Misbehave And Joke In The Air Unless They Want To Get Nailed And Pummeled By The Officers And Crews,I Only Do The Airbus A380 And Boeing 747 Highlights In This Thread.

I don't put much faith into some things that are 'Made In The USA' anymore, I think that a AirBus should become the new Air Force One. Why? Because there isn't much other choices, there's a sort of monopoly where the government is always forced to pick the usual planes. All that's different is the number or something simple. They need to go with what is more efficiant and safe, not with what is forced to be sold to them.

Uhmm... ya... you forgot to mention the issue that Airbus had with the RR trent 800 engines...

Someone Better Get His Facts Straight If He Wants To Play In This Thread,I Don't Remember The Rolls Royce Trent 800 Ever Being Associated And Mounted On The Airbus A380,However I Do Know The Rolls Royce Trent 900 Being Associated And Mounted On The Airbus A380.

http://www.rolls-royce.com/civil/products/largeaircraft/trent_900/

The Rolls Royce Trent 800 Belongs To The Boeing 777.

I think you missed my point here...

Shit happens. Each aircraft engineered has it's own niche market, has it's own advantages and has it's downsides. Bashing the A380 and 747 won't do much good because they were each designed to their own accord and needs as the manufacturer's customers saw it.

Thread's become some kind of bashing on what aircraft is better and which one is shitty when none of you have actually flown one or worked on such aircraft before.

Now if I was going to throw in another aircraft here in the ring, I'd be throwing in the MD-11. Why? Works great as a cargo aircraft given it's current market value. Sure this plane has it's own problems ranging from shitty handling, safety issues and performance issues from the initial batch, but hey? Why are all cargo airlines using it? Because they found the MD-11 satisfies what they need.

I Made This Thread Dedicated To My Favourite Airbus A380 Mostly And It's Rival The Boeing 747-8,I Can Accept Your Stupid Comments In This Thread,No Issues At All,But Why The Bloody Hell Are You Inserting The MD11,If You Want To Talk About The MD11 So Much Go And Create A Thread Of Your Own,Btw I Was Implying To Your Stupid Mistake Saying The Airbus A380 Uses The Boeing 777 Engine,I Have No Interest In Your Stupid Rambling Whatsoever.
