Though I know a lot of you will miss reading it, Hermit crab (http://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ129935.html) is a really good game. It doesn't have much gameplay involved and has a heavy story and NTR elements. Type NTR B-1 if you follow the categories. The game is very text heavy, opts for character development before entering the NTR phase, and lacks a text skip function so people looking for a quick fap title will be disappointed. That said, I hope someone will give this game a shot and translate the story for us. From what I've seen, it's quite a sad experience. I've already got 喪失の日々～睡眠薬編～ and it wasn't too bad. I'm not actually into shota that much, but a big part of me not liking shota NTR is simply due to me not really liking it when the protag is NTRed by some cocky brat significantly younger than him. In this case at least, the protag and the other guy are the same age so it's not as big an issue. If I can get hold of the other two anywhere, I'll probably try them.

I downloaded the mediafire link from ntr but I get a runtime error whenever I try to mount the .cue file in daemon tools. See attached. Thanks for the third game though. Do you know where I can find the torrent he linked that has the second game? It seems he's linked a bunch of torrents.

Is the same error i got, the game got "mounted" right, explore inside the disc files, copy all files on any folder and install it with the file "st_menu.exe"

I bought some items to help me learn but time constraints and ability really are working against me.

Join the club. Personally I've been threatening to learn japanese for years, but keep finding other stuff to steal my time. But if you've got the time and the willpower there are plenty of resources out there to help you, even if you aren't paying for lessons. Hell, you can even find amateur lessons posted on youtube, though in the end nothing beats having a professional tutor teaching you the language. Of course, learning to speak japanese is an effort but is actually the easy part. Even I have a basic understanding of the spoken language assimilated ofter years of listening to anime/eroge in the original tongue. It's the writing that's the really difficult stuff, or the 'Moon Runes' as the netizens are wont to call them. You can study it as your second language for years and be fluent in conversational japanese, yet still only have a fraction of the kanji mastered. There as many kanji as their are words in the english language, perhaps even more. Well I don't want to scare you off if I haven't already. just be sure you're going to be getting the use out of it, if want to understand all the anime/manga/eroge you want without waiting on the pleasure of translators (if they ever bother) and have a passion for any of these genres then you might get your efforts worth. More so if you are planning to spend any time in Japan itself, but just be warned it is not easy.

If you're waiting for stuff to be translated, well only anime is translated consistently. Everything else depends on finding translators interested and willing to do the work for little more than personal gratification. As I said, it's a lot easier finding people who can translate spoken japanese (like in anime), than written (meaning manga, visual novels, light novels, etc), so only a select amount gets done. Still, a lot more manga get translated in recent years, and to a lesser extent light novels as well. Anything reasonable popular has a good chance of getting done. But visual novels are different. Those are on a different scale, especially the full length major productions that contain 30-40 hours worth of material that needs to be translated, plus you need a programmer to patch the game to replace japanese text with english. A work like that can take years to translate, if they don't give up halfway. And even for short works of under ten hours, it's still something that you'll dedicate months of effort too.
Needless to say, the number of groups will to do this are few and only do the stuff they are interested in. So far we haven't seen any group of visual novel translators that cares to translate NTR games, not ever. So no, there are no proper NTR games translated and sitting back hoping to see one in english is an exercise in futility for sure.

On the other hand, since you seem new to this you might not know that their are programs to extract the text from games like this and run it through a machine translator. If you search for AGTH, ITH and Translation Aggregator along with tutorials on how to use them, it's possible to play visual novels without speaking japanese. Still takes some effort, since machine translations are hardly a proper translation and may seem like gibberish to people unaccustomed to deciphering them, but it's quite possible once you get used to it. Most of us tend to go that route, with only a couple of the people who have posted here knowing the language. So it's really up to you. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavours. :)

I suppose if I looked at it this way, kanji is like english words that make up sentences so there has to be a technique to pronouncing them and even if I don't learn them all I can at least figure them out faster if I can learn it's basic structure. And that would be the problem as far as I understand it, kanji's basic structure. There probably is none LOL! I suppose I could always date a Japanese woman who could teach me ... but yah I'll have to pick my options and go from there.

I remember a game was getting translated once a long time ago by a group of fans ... was that FSN? I don't know if it was ever finished but I remember many people waiting ever so patiently for it to be completed and there was quite the buzz about it too. I long since lost that link to that site and never found it again ... but that was because I forgot all about it until now! LOL!

The sheer number of kanji is bad enough, but what's worse is that each kanji can hold several different meanings depending on the context, so it can get very complex. Well, so long as you don't need to read people's names there are 2136 that people are expected to have learnt by the time they have graduated from high school. There are another 983 used in people's names as well, but so long as you know all of those you'd be able to manage with modern, everyday japanese reading. But uncommonly used kanji make up a list that can stretch up to as many 50,000 including the most obscure, but even most born and raised japanese wouldn't know more than a fraction of those. The pain of knowing a little about the subject is that it only served to restrain your motivation even further.

If you're talking about the project to translate Fate Stay Night, then you really don't know much about this. Yes, that one was translated years ago. You can get it from mirror moon and use it to patch a japanese copy of the game with ease. And it is awesome, so I highly recommend you try it. Other great VN that have been translated into english are Muv-luv + Muv-luv Alternative which might be even better than FSN depending on your tastes, and the equally excellent Steins;Gate has an unofficial english patch knocking around somewhere, and if you want to buy it an english language version is scheduled to be released by Jast at the end of march. There are several great VN available in english, it's just proper NTR games that don't get much love in that regard.

That is daunting. Well I was envisioning a trip to Japan at least once in my life time so I really should learn a bit of the lingo if I am going to go there.

And yes I was talking about the Fate Stay Night translation. I remember reading about it years ago but never found out if it was ever finished. I'm glad it was and maybe I'll endeavor to buy that game but last time I looked it was quite expensive. This just goes to show how far out of the loop I am that FSN has been translated. I mentioned in another thread that I had downloaded and read the VN Planetarian because it was translated, liked it so much that I went and bought it. I think I still got the downloaded version somewhere on my computer so there was no reason to install it. I am glad some are being translated but it sucks that the NTR genre won't or is unlikely to be.

Muv Luv game was translated? That I did not know! Now I need to go and look for that too! I like the fact that some of these games get made into video's and I wish ones like Viper RSR, Maro no Ganjiwhatever ... damn I'm having a hard time remembering these names ... and other games that I liked would get made into video's. Some though, get made into non hentai versions (like FSN) which is fine by me but it would be nice if there were two, one family rated the other not so much. I'm dreaming though and know damn well it's not worth the extra effort or money to make two versions. But Princess Lover comes to mind for some reason ...
