Anime Sharing - Netorare General Discussion Thread

Personally I appreciate how Mikocon functions, a large majority of the traffic this site, torrents and even mikocon see have japanese IP addresses, which means most the people downloading these games aren't people like me in Canada who have no access to buying japanese eroge games (since Canada customs basically seizes all hentai material) - but rather the country these games are sold in - Japan. So I think its good that the company that make Marina have time to actually sell their products in the country they most need the sales.

What I find kinda freaky is how Flowertradewinds always knows if somebody is talking about mikocon lol...hes like some kinda nsa dude.

I have to say I am interested in knowing now how Kenji MET Marina, shes showing to be the kinda wild girl you wouldn't expect to settle down ...but then again I suppose I'm being judgemental, every girl has a past despite who she now. Still I feel what I've seen from the gaidens only solidifies my theory why Marina was so willing to try Kenji's fantasy in the first place based on her past.

Thank you for the appreciation.

This thread is in my subscription. Which I will see new replies while I post some stuff.
It also help me knows when someone post new games / leaks so that the staff can prepare for collision.

Doesn't need to be NSA. There is something called RSS, which tells you when something new pops up.

That's quite a retarded thing to do, I thought better of Canada... is there a ban on porn in Canada somewhat?

LOL no, actually a lot of porn is made in Canada (a lot of it comes from Vancouver) and eastern canada is considered to have the best full contact strip clubs in the world (debatable yes).

For some reason Canada Customs is really out to stop anime though, they think its obscene and promotes rape...ya don't ask. You can argue to have it released based on "creative expression" but then you have to argue how its creative lol. Ironically though it seems more to relate to the customs agent - for example I had Discipline Record of the Crusade "opened" by customs agent but it wasn't seize and yet Queens Blade was found to be offensive...go figure.

There was a much bigger story about this in Vancouver where a lesbian book store was having all their lesbian books seized by canada customs, apparently you can have gay pride parades down the middle of Vancouver and shown on tv but you can't read about it lol. It went to trial and the bookstore won and gave a scathing report about Canada Customs, but Canada Customs is kinda like the nsa in the sense don't answer to anybody but themselves...really needs to be overhauled to be honest.

The modern Inquisition, sort of.
Good to know, thanks :)

Better than venezuela, for a while there was something like that going on, but with "violent" videogames, thing is that no one really cared, like a police officer told me "who is going to work on that when there are hundreds of murders, kidnapings, thefts, etc going on?", now the problem is that the goverment controls all dollars, and unless you travel you can only use 300$ for the whole year =S, right now i have like 4$ i can use to buy things online

I was following what's going on in Venezuela from my country, and from there it's like watching an economic suicide in slow motion... so, good luck my friend, may the future be better than the current situation. :(

A ban on a Dire Straits song... wow.

Guys I need help, I got a laptop to replace my RIP PC by the time being until I get a new one, I'm trying some old games and they work fine but I'm trying some Anim, Team Atelier and some trials of upcoming VN but it doesn't shows the language and some times crashes.

A ban on a Dire Straits song... wow.

Its true but there was also the "canadian backlash" basically the general public said WTF - basically ONE person complained and it was the highlight of political correctness gone crazy. Heres the details via rolling stone:

Canadian broadcasters can go back to playing Dire Straits' 1985 hit, "Money For Nothing," the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) announced yesterday. The song was pulled from national playlists in January after a single listener complained about the use of the word "faggot" on Newfoundland radio station CHOZ-FM.

"Money For Nothing" was immediately deemed a breach of the Human Rights Clauses of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' (CAB) Code of Ethics and Equitable Portrayal Code. The decision caused public outrage in support of the classic song.

"It made us look silly in the eyes of the broadcast community around the world," writer/broadcaster Alan Cross, a 30-year veteran of the Canadian radio biz, tells Rolling Stone. "I talked to people from the U.S. and the U.K. and they were like, 'What's wrong with you people? Don't you get it? It's a joke. It's a satire. You didn't understand the context?'"

The new decision was based on what CBSC calls "considerable additional information" – such as learning that alternative versions of "Money For Nothing" have existed since 1985, proving "the band and the composer considered that there was a less offensive way of presenting the song to the public long ago" and the context in which the word is used demonstrates that "the composer's language appears not to have had an iota of malevolent or insulting intention."

The CBSC added that the time/age issue alone "will not save a challenged song" and that the Atlantic Regional Panel was "correct in its view of the inappropriateness of the word" for broadcast on Canadian airwaves.

Stations now have the option to play the original version or any one the alternative versions.

Cross wasn't surprised at the original decision or the amendment. "They have to be very careful that they're meeting the needs of all Canadians," he says. "When it comes to things like foul language and discriminatory language, it's really tough for the CBSC to rule in any direction but for the plaintiff.

"Every single incident is taken as an isolated case. So what happens when somebody complains about the Tragically Hip's 'At The Hundredth Meridian' with the F-bomb in it? What if somebody complains about the Who from 1978, 'Who Are You' with 'Who the fuck are you' in it? Under the rules, the CBSC would have to rule those songs unplayable on Canadian airwaves because of language."

Sigh...political correctness at its worse.

A few things to try

Control Panel > Clock, Language and Region > Region > Formats > Format > Japanese (Japan)
Control Panel > Clock, Language and Region > Region > Location > Home Location > Japan

Check if the Japanese language pack for windows is installed, which I assume it should be if other games worked.

Check if it works if you drag the Japanese language pack to the top (restart laptop after). Keep in mind you'll need to memorize how to change it back if you cant read Japanese.

does anyone here know how to play syuntada games in windows 10?
with normal words and everything

i still get the weird characters even after changing the everything to japanese

I got those games to work by following all of the steps I posted above too. Those ones required Japanese to be the default language in particular if I remember correctly.

Sorry man, but i can't help but chuckle at the group name of the leak.
Do they have grudge on you guys or something?
Anyway thank you for the DRM-free Marina 3

I saw some asian groups using Fakku's raws and them claiming those came from Mikocon.

Thannks guys, I'll try to see if the Japanese ime is added.

Edit:
My OS is Win8.
I did as you indicated, including switching regions.
However it doesn't shows any change and I got the same message error with gibberish and the only word I could recognize was "macro"

I have no idea then sorry. Last option would be running in administrator mode but it doesn't seem it would fix that.

Might be worth checking if your graphics card and direct x drivers are up to date too and updating them if need be.

Here's the latest Atelier Sakura min specs:
CPU Pentium4 or more
Or more memory 1GB (XP is 512MB or more)
Video card 1280 × 720 dots / 65536 colors or more / VRAM64MB more
DirectX 9.0c or more
Sound card WAVE sound source corresponding (.ogg)

I am still interested in Marina gaidens but I am not too excited for them since she is not married in the gaidens. One thing I noticed was that in main MArina games, Marina is always shaved completely but in 1st gaiden, it seems that she has pubic hair. Not too much but it looks like it is there. I wonder whether she will be shaved by ojisan at some point lol...
