Thats a little bit unfair. The studio behind this hentai wanted to make a second episode but coudnt because they went bankrupt. The studio itself only produced 2 hentais in their lifetime. The production value of Ore wa Kanojo was brilliant and i would kill for a second episode. Too bad that will never happen.
I apologize. I think I should have been clearer by saying "company" rather than a studio. Yes Studio L is dead, though their end came in 2014 while "Ore wa Konojo" was made in 2011, but yea the absence of a second episode can be justified in any number of ways so I won't go there. But the studio, or rather the company, that I was actually referring to was
Marigold.
You see, this company is the big honcho. The mother company who even Lune Team Bitters report to. Now Marigold is the one that signs off on partnerships with hentai studios like L, T-Rex etc. to animate Team Bitter's work and they sell licenses on episode by episode basis. They never sell the rights to the whole game like they would have to if you they were partnering for an English translation of the whole game. They just sell what can be covered in 20 minutes.
This is important as it's heavily reflected on their
SoreDemo Tsuma series where the last episode came over 2 years after the second episode and was even termed as "OVA" instead of episode 3. That way hentai studios can buy an episode content when they are capable of affording one. Point being, if Marigold wanted, they can authorize a separate studio to finish or outright reboot the whole "Ore wa Kanojo" hentai. It's a good story and the game was commercially successful with a lot of fans hoping for the second episode as well. But for some reason they won't. I can't comprehend why either but I am guessing it's because they don't see any game sales boosting at the point even if they did continue.

Congratulations ANIM, you lifted yourself up in my books from the mediocrity that was Kabe no Muko 2. Well done and I hope Atelier Sakura takes notes. Just do me a favor, please don't drop the ball again. Still I do have one issue with the game, it's relatively small compared to Kabe 1. Please stick with at least medium sized games with solid content if long isn't an option so I can keep cleaning my gun for at least a few weeks.
