It's not perfect but personally I think i would rate it higher than Marina but that's because it corresponds more to the kind of content i want but not every NTS lovers will like it for sure (specially the ones seeking reporting or reclaiming or who think NTS is only that)

Some of my favorite works were from rascou and Venus before. Ntrpg I always keep coming back for. Prefer longer stories and not instant smut, preferably with character development and slow corruption.

I think apart from the last one I played all those back in the day. Has it been a bad few years for ntr? Think most of those are '14 to 16. I'm looking for stuff after 19 till the present.

Game wise, I agree that NTR is dying, at least major studios. Their outputs are slowing down, their content is getting dull and derivative and they just aren't making enough money to keep the business running. A lot of big developers and publishers have either downsized or close shop altogether. It is def a multi-factorial problem.

For a lack of a better word, indie-wise/small circles and amateur wise we do get 2-3 games a year that still stand out, I think that is comparable to the past, no? ( I don't mean major studios)

The biggest problem is the flood of r-tards with no standards and "normies" flooding the hobby and by extension "weeb" communities in general. This combined with the ease of access now to make your own game, and thus it sells like hot cakes. Just go to F95, I have never seen a collection of such idiots on my time on the internet all congregating in one place. Obviously not all the users, but an overwhelming majority for sure.

Some of the old creators too have probably just gotten older also so they take it slow, or retire or want to change subject matter. Take Rascou for example. I'll use his his mom NTR game you referenced, it has some of the best slow burn NTR writing ever in my opinion, coupled with really hard mini-game. I'd love it if he would go back to it and make it have more of a definitive ending, but he seems to have outgrown it, or at the very least not interested in it right now and is focusing on other much different projects. We also can't forget payment processors

tldr; a mixture of: payment processors, money not being what is used to be, studios and publishers closing, ease of access of tools, a flood of idiots and normies, having to self-censor in some cases, artists just moving on, too much competition in some regard, everyone having a monthly subscription, etc... it makes the perfect storm.

I agree with everything you've written. I personally blame the customers as the main culprits for the current state of things. I found a couple of comments in Sad Panda that summarize my feelings:

I really don't get it... It's a gallery with extra steps in one of the worst way possible, because there's pretty much no connection between gameplay and content, aside from the vague changing of the reactions of the girls as the videos happen. However, there's no proper passage of time or anything. The videos basically come in as you buy them, if I remember right, so if you just cheat up the money, you can get them as easily as going in the store, buying the 1st set, going out, viewing it, going back in, picking up the next set, repeat until no more videos.

As for the gallery itself. Nothing special, but eh, I dunno why, but I like this artist's janky style, whoever they are. So I quite appreciate having the CGs up here.

I read your review of the last Anim TeamMM's and it seems even they are throwing the towel with unfinished scenarios and reused CGs (I haven't played the game. I'm not gonna waste my time with it, so I trust your word). Their previous games had been underwhelming in terms of story, but at least they excelled in quality production. Now, not even that it seems. And regardless I'm sure people will keep buying their games and making a big fuss here and everywhere else every time a new game gets announced. And I'm sure the quality of their games will keep sinking and sinking.

I put myself in the developer's shoes, releasing some mediocre or straight up trashy game... and people throw their money at me. I'm sure I'll be thinking something like: "Hey!! They like this trash!! Let's give them more trash!" and trash is exactly what they're giving us.

In case you never visit this forum again, in case you never post anything else again, I want to say that your guide for Yukari 2 will forever be part of my bookmarked bar HAHAHA. I got into the NTR genre just before the COVID-19 pandemic and your Yukari 2 guide got me through (as you mentioned) one of the best NTR VN's I've ever played. Not to mention your post on the best NTR games (Tsuma no Biniku, Summer Salt, Kabe 2, etc.)

At this point, Boy Hero Ken will remain an unfinished masterpiece. Personally, one of those works like Jin's Tachibana (in my opinion, more than Tachibana) that we will look back on for years as what could have been.

Still, part of me hopes that Rascou will make another game. One day, maybe Rascou makes another ss game. I hope that VENUS continues to make good games. I hope that some new developer comes and breathes new life into the NTR genre.

I'm definitely not quitting the forum, on the contrary, I think I'll be more active from now on. This place could be a nice place to vent my frustration with the state of the genre as of late. Hope you can put up with me. And I think I'll start right now with a title I've been looking forward to, but after playing the trial I'm starting to lose hope already.

I'm talking about Saimin Seishidou -Secret Lesson- the trial has been released already and the game will be released next month. I only have played a couple of the sex scenes from the trial, and I'm already getting disappointed by them.

I've already talked about it in another post in this thread, about how I don't like Mind Control in general, but, Aiue Oka's Saimin Seishidou series is a big exception for me. The way the MC bends reality just enough (with some exceptions) to make sex lessons a normal extra school activity gives room to lots of hot sex play like exhibitionism, voyeur, netorare, netorase... etc... But then again that comes with most Mind Control scenarios.

IMHO what makes this series excel is the interchanges between MC as the sexual counselor and the girls. as he guides them through the "lesson". It's pretty hot watching him acting the part while all he's doing is enjoying all the hot pussy he can get as he creampie girls left and right. It's pretty hot seeing him corrupting these girls through his "guidance" as he teaches them to embrace the pleasure as they turn into hungry nymphos for his cock. It's also hot seeing him counseling the boyfriends watching, and even filming the whole thing as he guides them on how it should be done when their turn comes.

Unfortunately in the game, the counseling part of this series based on sexual counseling is gone (at least from what I've seen so far). The counseling part in the game consists of: "I'm putting my dick in"... "I'm gonna move"... "I'm gonna cum"... END... The rest of the scene is just a description of the girl's pussy getting fucked, things we're already seeing happening in the CG, and the girl moaning and telling how good it feels.

The sex scenes don't have that unique feeling of Aiue Oka's work, which is maybe not surprising since the writer is someone else that have written quite a few other hypnosis games, including Saimin Gakushuu -Secret Desire- which was criticized by the fans. The sex scenes feel so generic, I'm pretty sure if I change the names and a few words here and there, and interchange the text with any other scene in any other of the writer's previous works it'll make no difference at all. The main point here is that: It doesn't feel like Saimin Seishidou. I want to see the MC talking to the girls, guiding them through the sex, as he fuck the shit out of them, like in the original manga.

I hope I just chose the wrong scenes and other scenes are not like that, but I'm not too optimistic about it.
