The people who made contact with them can be anything. Demons, kitsune's, etc... Just have to have a good story as to how your character made contact with said guardian and how he/she made a contract to command said guardian.

But in terms of being rare, I'd say quite. Since not too many people still know magic in that world. But not like 1 in the 1 milion.

For eg a guardian is still alive, but the owner is dead
what will happen?

If the guardian is still alive but the owner dies it'll go rogue.

No one really knows, but at least a good 100 I'd say. And you are indeed right with that.

A character can be anything, but for guardians I would suggest the artist named: Shirogane Usagi.
I used all his designs for the guardians.

Also, I'll be putting up info about the EX-guardians later today.
