It's going to include :

• Plenty of new customisation options, as we already know.
• The "chara-synthesis" feature, which turned out to be a way to merge cards to create a new character (a bit disappointing to me).
• Lesbian sex and tentacle play (hurray!)
• Group action, including harem-style (many females) and gang-bang (many males) sex.
• Two new personalities : the adult and charming "voluptuous" type and the strong big-sisterly "faithful" type (mature types are EXACTLY what I wished for).
• And a BIG studio update (Studio NEO) with improved kinematic functions (IK?), all-purpose parenting system, long awaited UNDO/REDO commands, free positioning of shadow-casting lights, 3D sound support with spatially-enabled sound sources...

They're really stepping up their game, lately. This new DLC seems to be adding a lot of cool stuff, and I'm eager to see the official update on their website to get more details.

EDIT / ADDENDUM : They're also announcing a "Battle Arena" feature that allows you to create units of girls that would fight against each others (???). I don't really understand what it is, but since it comes as a pre-order bonus, and from the way they announce it, I feel like it's something allowing you to "battle" for cards with other players on Illusion Online (a mix of card sharing and card game).

And thanks to @EusthEnoptEron it is apparent that HS will continue to be an excellent (arguably superior) VR experience in its own right-- one taste of HoneySelectVR and the "gimmicky bullshit" argument flies out the window. There may be just too many constraints on room-scale immersion in VRK if the demo is anything to go by. But I'm keeping an open mind, it's their first shot at it after all.

You should wait for it before saying that : I expect VR Kanojo to be MUCH more impactful than what we currently have... This is simply a matter of interactivity / immersion (the girls in HS are not designed to react to your presence).
I have a (big fucking wall-of-text) message coming up for the VRK thread, so let's postpone this discussion, and continue it later on the dedicated thread.

Now, I'm with you : this new expack will be even better in VR. An upgraded studio with 3D sound and better IK, so you can pose girls having lesbian sex while you sip a brandy looking at them from your sofa ? Motion-controlled tentacle play ? Reverse gang-bang positions with 3+ girls drowning you in their lust that you will be able to enjoy fully immersed between buttcheeks ? Yes, please.

I'm pretty excited for all the extra main-game features, too, including that Voluptuous personality, which we should have had in the first place. That chara-synthesis sounds like the feature you see when combining parents for The Sims games, which actually might lead to some interesting results.
VR Kanojo is just another Real Kanojo waiting to happen, bah; enough with that, already.

They added bone customization IK system in HAIRS TOO! I wonder if they have the skirt part too? That was someone released by Joan9966 in HF(if I named him correct). Is Illusion stalking the modders here? I see a Yusha map in it and so it the Bikini Armor. Tentacle part, I see no other person as thrilled as Sin07. I am not interested in BattleArena or Main game. Studio is always the best part for me.

It's funny how there's completely different groups amongst the community, with totally different interests. To me, the big things are the new positions and personalities, and the new Studio is just icing on the cake.

It's great that Illusion can cater to all the subsets of their fanbase with this expansion, though. It was a bit sad that the latest DLC didn't bring anything interesting for the "Studio People" out there.

It's going to be a mess. Tons of new items and customisation options with new IDs. Plenty of new clothes that will need to be uncensored. A complete overhaul to the poser application mechanics and code. Modders are going to have a lot to do to fully support this expack.

But I'm sure it's going to be worth it. Honey Select is the most extensive and complete game Illusion ever released when it comes to customisation, and now that it features a better Studio and packs a little more kink and positions, it's going to be —and stay— the reference game for a pretty long time. We'll probably be playing it until the end of the year.

And Illusion seems to know it : their latest blog post means something like : "There's still a long road ahead / you still have plenty of time to play with your girls".

Yes. Mature personalities were truly lacking from the original game, and I'm really happy that they release those two.

On top of the "chara-synthesis" system, they added the feature I wished for : custom-made presets for face and bodies. Since we're often making the same kind of girl to match our fetishes (like, all your girls are voluptuous babes, Aastaroth's ones are smooth realistics cuties, etc...), having a way to "streamline" our creations will be really useful.

And to make it even better, they also added some kind of "colour coordination" system that allows you to select individual clothes and apply batch modifications to their colours. You'll be able to have your belt matching your shoes with a single click. That's super nice, too.

VR Kanojo is just another Real Kanojo waiting to happen, bah; enough with that, already.

Except that it'll be a VR game. Which is a complete game changer.

You may be more of a Studio creator, so it doesn't really interest you, and you may have never tried a VR headset, so it's difficult for you to relate, but the very first time you'll "meet" one of the girls you created, standing in front of you like she was actually there, looking at you in the eyes with a smile on her face and a slight blush on her cheeks... your heart will skip a beat.

If you can, try to get someone to lend you a headset and play HS with it. You'll understand that even boring dates like the ones from SB Zero or silly scenes like those from Real Kanojo are going to feel completely different when you're in VR. This shit makes you go "doki-doki" over anything.

Yes, skirts, too. And it seems to me that we'll be able to perform IK/FK blending on selective parts of the skeleton. Possibly even enabling / disabling physics.

To me, the biggest selling point is not the features : it's the user-experience overhaul. New, nice, modern interface. Undo / Redo functions. Keybinds and shortcuts. From the look of it, the usability is going to be 100 better.

Positions and personalities aren't my interest cuz I never played the main game and spends more time on studio. If this new DLC didn't bring new stuff for studio user like me. I definitely add my own stuff in it and provide to studio creators. Improved studio UI that's I agree with you.

NEO Studio is to be *separate* software from the original studio and old scenes will not work on the former. I wonder what will this entail, especially for modders.

Welp, as a yuri enthusiast who runs an ongoing fantasy comic series and is mostly focused on the studio, this new expansion seems... A DREAM. To top things off, it will be released on my birthday

Seems like the best case scenario will happen, that is, a studio revamp much like the PPS>PSP expansion. All we studio users have been crying for is making it in, judging by the preview videos: 3 axis nodes, item binding, FK... When I saw the amount of nodes that model had on the hair, my jaw dropped. I'm pretty sure Illusion checks these places for feedback, and is well aware of the modding scene. Can't explain it otherwise.

So rejoice, certainly. And yes, transfering all the mods to the new studio will be a huge pain, although I suspect things like clothing and char customization won't be very much affected. But we could see a total revamp of the item system, which is the only thing not bound to the main game. In this regard, i hope they pick up the PlayClub system, in which a prepped file would be read right off the bat without need for pesky lists.

The new studio looks great !
We didn't see if they fix the boob physics when you try to "manipulate" it but I think it will be there.
Finally the item attachment returned and the possibility to have IK and FK system, lot of fun in perspective !

And well I'm really interested in the new battle mini-game, it just looks like one of those mobage trading card/rpg game. But if it's pvp, western people should not be able to play.

I hope this battle system has an offline mode. It would be cool if you select your warrior girls, and fight against random generated girls, and if you win you get them (after an H-Game over scene, of course lol).

Other than that, love the focus on warrior girls this has.

Not sure what to think about the studio, seems like it has HSPE functions but it will still miss the awesome shortcut plugin/shortcutHS.

yes, new positions are the biggest thing, which is why studio is better than the game. you have a finite amount of position in the game and it gets repetitive (even with new girls) which makes it boring. Eventually it's just like watch a porn. Where as in studio, you get all the options from the game and the freedom to create new positions & scenarios. As I said in the previous post, if illusion focused on a studio game with interactive posing instead of just set animations, I think that'll satisfy everyone and give the game a longer life span.

I doubt it, if you're using studio mods (which what the new studio looks like) you should be fine with your current pc. Doesn't look like there's any visual enhancements in the studio to warrant hardware upgrades.

it's not the best answer but i got your point of view.
In the studio you can create whatever u want and it's epic! but you lack the immersion u have in the normal game.
it's just a poser.
Yes, you can create animations...but they are dull and lack of life. u need to edit and manipulate so many things in order to make that "scene" of yours alive that it's killing the fun...
I used to play a lot of posers and i know what im saying....there is turn on, but turn off as well...

This game is Super!
But if i need to compare it to AG3 (im ag3 fan) this game lack some immersion, it's very hard to have feeling towards your models since you can't hand with them really, it's more like instance game (choose female, choose room, fuck, leave).
There is immersion activities like peeing and showering but it's instances and not real-time, that's the big diffrenece between AG3 to 'Honey Select'.

Besides that, This game is good at almost anyting, special for textures, char maker and boobs physics. too bad Illusion neglecting the "ass fans" here.
