Umm.... is E-5 that' hard. .

I just try E-4. My fleet: Nagato-Kongou-Yudachi-Yukikaze-Akagi-Kaga. 1st try, boss has 8 HP left. 2nd try, boss has 70 HP left. Need more damage >.<.

I've read a lot and from what I can deduce, if you have no Bisko you'll have a hard time, then if you have no Yamato/Musashi you'll have a hard time (actually most people have to end up sortie Yamato and Musashi, which is rather rare because they consume so much of your resource) Taihou is also recommended because of her tankiness, but Kaga will do. Now, even with all the above and half your fleet ringed (at around 11x or 12x level), you still get trolled in E5. So, to conclude, E5 is shit and a lot of Level 99+ admiral have gave up already. It is also recommended that you send normal node support (which is also quite rare, usually only recommend Boss support) I'm trying everything out given that I only have Musashi out of the 3 battleships people recommend, I'm trying whatever I can to even try to reach boss node. I'm getting closer and closer, as long as I can reach it, there is hope of chipping away til final form then I'll pour all resource in support expedition and things and just hope for the best. If you have information that you can enlighten me, please do, I need to know everything I can in hope to do this in Hard Mode.

Me too. I can't kill her >.<. The best that i can do is left her 8 HP.
Does boss E-4 need to be killed to destroy the HP bar?

All boss needs to be killed in order to clear the map, you can just kill boss and leave rest in tact and you'll still clear the map.

E-4 was really annoying. The boss has high HP and armor. Be sure to use AP-shells. Might want to use support expedition to give you a better chance.

Yuudachi is medium damage at pre-boss. Nothing special in day time. I enter night battle with 190 HP boss. I don't expect too much with this run because i don't use support expedition and my fleet isn't sparkle. I just want to decrease the HP bar. But in night battle, Nagato hit boss with 8x damage, Kongou hit with 14x damage and the bar is destroyed. I don't expect that Kongou can do that much damage since the others runs she can only do about 4x~6x damage. That's why i can't take screenshot that moment. ^^

Anyway I cleared E-4. I'll take 1~2 days restock and study how to deal with E-5 :D.

Just above average. Seems like will require support expedition on boss node for final kill. For now reaching boss node without a problem.

For those who are interested! This is my first E5 boss encounter after heavily modifying my fleet. Thanks to some amazing Level 102 Admiral where he shared his composition extensively. I'll thank him later once I completed E5. It was unfortunate that I cannot clear the boss, but I consider this major progress as 3 days ago I sortied over 7 times and never once did I made it to the boss, not even pre-boss node in fact. Now I can actually see where I'm going I'm really happy! This is also a fleet without needing to send any support expedition and sparkling my fleet. I reckon I could have done better in boss fight if I didn't have to retreat my Shigure and Yamashiro because Yamashiro was wan-pan by the Princess in Pre-boss, but it looks like progress have been made and I'm just happy!

I saw you use 2 CLT but you still reach boss. From your previous post, i think you use Surface Naval with Katori Kai holding Fleet Command Facility in the 1st fleet. Start with A-C-E right? Can you share your composition?
I still hesitate between Surface and Quick Respond since Quick Respond provide good air support for air superior at pre-boss but i'm afraid that my 2nd fleet can't handle. I will go with easy but the Aircraft Carrier Demon still has 96 FP so i need about 16x~17x FP or more. If i use Surface, then i have to level up Akitsumaru but even she's kai + few more lv, she's still easy to get heavy damage though.

It's shortage of LOS check. This composition might be severe because I don't have Ooyodo. I'm considering it while changing the equipment... I have no Armor-Piercing Shell, too. So I think about a method not to use BB.

My equipments and ships are too insufficient...

I went and tried it without Katori Kai, seems to work just as well since she rarely get hit. This is what composition I'm using.

I've heard that Kidou Butai (Quick Response) is actually not very good with E5 because the CVs just aren't very useful at all. I mean my Kaga doesn't even attack since she's equipped with 4 green for the Air Advantage. This seems to work like a charm because I just got back from lunch, did a sortie and then it was a clean kill at boss node. I went in with full fleet, I had 3 ships left for night battle and with 6 attacks (2 to sink the other ships and 4 on the actual boss) I was able to sink the 400 ish hp boss. I know this will be insane when I get to final form due to 350 BB Hime, but I think I'll be running boss support expedition then.
