Let's Create a VN!!!

soo I added a little more to the story~
ummmm yeah, I'm letting the guy be lose until everything is fixed, so that his background will fit easily into what's happening.
soo once there's a full one-way story going on, I'll try to edit lots of the backgrounds for the other characters, since all of that will play a major role with other stuff~
If I'm going with the p1-12 that samy gave, that will be the marker for chapters. ummm what happens with each will be based on scene and event blocks. There will be a minimum for each, but they'll increase towards the end.
lol it would be perfect if part of this game you could walk around~ that would greatly work out~
ummm there might be special puzzles, idk. If I do make them, we'll make them based on a difficulty setting maybe, or an option to auto-solve them. We would have to make it where items are obtainable and the main character is free to go somewhere sometime. In that case, I would prefer to guide them to the items instead of looping the story til they get it x-x.
Sooo even if they do get it early, they would have to wait til all places are visited until they get the next major scene~
something like that maybe. Not to bore them to death, just stretching and making the most of what'll happen :3

actually... gathering items will be a special part in the game :3 There will be different ways you have to get them too~ or maybe certain days?

Ehh actually i wasnt quite finished when i posted the pt stuff xD That was what i had atm~ You can change it how you wish~

We are an amateur group, I do not think we need to add a feature so complex.
 
Hmm complexity isnt particularly bad as long as it is possible for us to do so~
 
I'd feel better doing the best we can as far as the story~ then I'm sure the others will do their best :runhappy:

The scenario is important, but i think that the most critical part is the VN mechanics, are you going to make it a simple game of choice, or will you create a more interactive system. All this needs a lot of scripting/debugging.
 
If you more money give could for the project, then could we it make...~
 
No...actually all you need is your brain, actionscript is easy and perfect for games. I can prepare a tutorial about it since i'm too busy with my studies to help with the VN. All we need is a super-motivated team that is ready to undergo several hours of proof-reading and debugging, we need a leader, someone to rule them all.
 
If people put a lot of effort into something then it will have to leave some impression of it ;p

Were already a pretty motivated team :goodtea: Not like any of us are expecting much from this except for enjoying ourselves during this process~

Nanashii, I was talking about a leader for the scripting team, which is the core of this work, i'm a lazy guy, i am and i will never be interested in leadership. Sammy, it's true everybody is doing this for fun, i'm just proposing a strategy that we might use to make this project successful. I'm thinking about dividing the work. Step by step, first we will discuss the scenario and find people with basic programming/CGing knowledge, then the coins will assign the tasks as he wish. I am but a simple man.
 
Hmm look at the front page ;p We already divided the work xD There are two people working on the script to try and keep it from just being one person's perspective and get more ideas i suppose?

[MENTION=36260]x.wire[/MENTION]; thanks for the idea. actionscript is indeed good. but it can't handle bitmap very well. to do that, i need to use another library, such as starling. i chose ren'py because,

it's even more simple than actionscript
I hate the bulky UI of Flash
Flashdevelop is good but somehow didn't comfortable. usually i use that though.
I hate swf file that reach 100+ MB
even flash is multi platform, it's quite hard to port to device like iOS and Android. iOS didn't support flash, and android, even if it's support flash, in Jelly Beans they remove it and the performance isn't quite good either. but in Renpy you can port it quite easily
and last, I'm a leader, and i know what to do. we indeed do this for fun, so no pressure at all. I know we all busy irl, so no deadline for this. hmm and probably could you become a beta tester wire?
 
of course... the main point of this VN is an awesome story~
 
depending on how many people like it, the project might undergo another version with another group~ :goodtea:
it would have more functionality that adds something to the story maybe.
but anyway~ ideas are still been made and thought through. The story will take as much time to make as it would for someone to read the whole thing. (maybe more~) trying to jump a little too far might cause the writing to not be as good as it can~
we might have several versions of entire stories before we actually start writing the characters' words.
I'm hoping i'll have enough time in december to workout the story~ then samy and i would start builing scenes and I think deca will help us build the actual content or words. (maybe we'll have dedicated stuff~)
then we'll have to read each other's work and make changes until it fits per chapter. With that, we can give it to the others to prepare~

no pressure is good~ considering that we're doing this just for fun :P
 
Haha, don't take what i said in a serious manner, i didn't read the first page, so it's my fault. Anyways, i understand what you did there by using ren'py, i was just thinking that using an easier language, with a quick learning curve will really speed up the debugging process, since everybody is going to try out the game, and eventually point out the bugs. I love the idea about getting it into the android business, but isn't iOS a bit to expensive? Last time i checked their sdk was exclusive to devs with an apple developper account, and it seems that you have to pay a fee to get your game in the apple store. Oh, and for jelly bean, flash sure runs slow on it, but only on the unofficial leaked version, i actually have a modded touchwiz 5 (from the sgs3) with some changes in the conf. but everything runs smoothly.
At last, thank you for offering ne the beta-test part, i will think about it.

I dont think people will mind too much words will they? Considering how the selling point of this isnt really ecchi... Though i ddo think that dialogue would cut down the number of words somewhat? Though well attempt to retain the story~
Backgrounds... mostly neko's work? ;p
I have a few in mind who i want to show this to but theyre not really... on the forum :/ Also depends on whether theyre busy or not...

Hello, there seems to be something wrong with the file you uploaded. The game works fine, but it doesn't play music. I use dameon tools lite and prompt "unable to mount image. Cue sheet: line 1-file not accessible." Could you please re-upload it?
