i knew that problem with the cursor with pop-up. haha

is it not possible to make the base of the feather as the point? there was a VN that used a quill as a cursor and of course the pen end of it was the point so basically the normal mouse pointer would be upside down.

or better yet, you could use a key item in the story as the cursor if you want to scrap the feather. for example, the iconic hairpin of the lead character (which may be anything) and maybe used as a hint. usually people don't think anything of the cursor and just say "oh that's cute" or "cool cursor" but then further in the story they'll say "oh THAT's what's its for!".
