Games I've played recently are Hatsukoi 1/1, Senmomo, Kamiyaba, and Amenity's Life. Most of them are disappointing at best. =\

Depends. I haven't seen the new cards yet, so I don't know quite what they can do, or how they will interact with other sets.

When someone suggests you go get a product from more than 10 years ago, you know there's a problem with this industry. =\

Frankly 90% of today's VN are saddening. The scenario, to be precise. More often than not they gave a theme or a plot device to the story but failed to explore it enough to even make it remotely meaningful. It's just there for the sake of being there to annoy me. Even if it's not there it wouldn't make much of a different. Character interaction is also non-existent. Wonder if the writers really worked together or even talked to one another. I already miss the good old funny slice of life like D.C.II or Koisora where characters have perfect chemistry.

Yeah once upon a time they were generic, in a good sense. But then some idiot came up with the bright idea that they had to add some gimmick to stand out. It became an obligation that a game had to have a gimmick in order to sell. Now the market is bloated with that kinds of games and it isn't a competition of quality anymore. Ironically, if anyone dares to make a true generic game right now, it would stand out among the rest.

Isn't D.C. kinda old? Can you read Japanese? If you can you might have more options.
