Hmm it is? I'm not sure since I take out the battery pack from my laptop to prevent it from heating up. It's possible to also use alaptop stand too. Unless you had something else in mind Frank?

Quay: It's two times bad. The laptop fan will sucks up dust instead of cool air. So soft surface is bad bad.
