very true :P I'm going to mess with ppl a bit~ try not to lose the thought here~ lol

In the internet today, people can use obtain and use almost any information they want. A person could easily say they're a girl of guy, provide pictures, social accounts, numbers, video chats, etc. Non of that can be taken literally as confirming their identity.
some examples:

pictures:
I could either find a picture of the person i want to be and photoshop it, or use one of someone else that was uniquely taken by me.
Pictures also give the impression of personality in addition to words.

accounts:
any information can be used to make an account without truly knowing the person's real identity. They can say they're a guy on one forum, and say they're a girl on another. There's also no true way to verify the person's age. Generally a terms of use requires you to use real identity, but most people don't since it's within their rights currently. People often like to express themselves as who they want to be seen as. There is no barriers in a place like AS. Barriers like appearance, voice, race, gender, knowledge level, and so forth. So even if I said who I am, it's up to others whether or no to believe me. A guy can say he's 18 when he looks and is really 27 talking to a 16 year old girl. (it can and does happen). A person can give you a facebook link, but you don't really know if that person is accessing another's account. :P This is typically done with ppl in a relationship.

video chats: this one is a bit hard to understand and explain, but exploiting a video chat can be done. In other words, you can be seeing one person, but talking to another. It may be down via sharing an account, or special live video editing, or physical changes to hide identity. conversations can be shared, and way of speech can be copied so you think it's the same person.

Something interesting I want to say about gender:
Due to history, people have a common stereotype of gender characteristics of what they call feminine or masculine. You can probably name a few things that girls "typically do" which today, is changing. The common thinking is "if it talks like a duck, sounds like a duck, walks like a duck, it must be a duck?" the answer is no. Not considering biological differences, there is no differences of what girls and guys can do. They are 98% the same (or close to that number~).

That being said~ people usually try to decide whether or not someone is a guy or girl, simply because we are made to think that way. We treat people differently based on their looks, gender, voice, height, interests, etc. People say not to judge a book by its cover, but it's a process in the brain that is necessary and happens all the time when we meet people. Most of the time we have subconscious thoughts that cannot be brought to the front. In other words, you cannot really see how your brain figures out something, or why it knows something.

sooooo I hope no one's brain exploded or suddenly became scarred~ :P

Yes, females are under-represented here...
