I always go with False Swipe / Spore attacks first and then trap with wobbuffet to catch those running pokes

My pokemon has a tendency to fall asleep 24/7, I don't know why the trainers feels that Sleep status ailment is so good... The 25% chance to be fully paralyzed have a tendency to strike in 3-4 times in a row as well. I'm pretty lucky with Burn though... It doesn't afflict my pokemon as often as sleep and paralyze :/

nah. i just need it so i can get mesprite, and my umbreon will learn it later

Umbreon sucks, get a Crobat instead :/

Sleep is broken D: I hate it, much more than paralysis.
Still looking from the competitive point of view, you should have something to take on status or heal it :3

Yeah, I usually buy around 30-40 Paralyze Heal before any Electric gym.

Why do everyone like Umbreon so much? Vaporeon still beats it...

You can't/shouldn't compare Umbreon to Vaporeon (or any of the eeveelutions for that matter)
They all have their own way to be used ^^

Umbreon is a tank with the crappiest attack, special attack i've seen and it doesn't have any moves that increase defence and/or special defence and it doesn't have any powerful moves either to support for it's crappy offensive stats... Even a Shuckle would be a better tank than an Umbreon...

Umbreon is by no means supposed to be offensive.
Wish support/stall works best for it. It gets Heall Bell too to help your team with any status.
Immediate healing is an option with Moon Light but not very favorable because of it's low PP.
It gets Taunt / Yawn as well. Taunt may not seems useful on such a slow pokemon but it outspeeds a few of the other walls/tanks just by enough to taunt them to hell (lol @ Blissey)
It's pretty much a one trick pony. It doesn't have many options but can be very annoying in the right hands/right team.

If you wish to go sort of offensive with it, Curse/Payback does a fine job when it's counters are down.

It feels like I'm the only one who doesn't put the effort into breeding pokemon. I suppose that you're right with what you're saying, but what about Crystal/Gold/Silver? The generation it began to exist in. Guess why I personally felt that it was useless.

Well..it's just I used by be quite the breeder and WiFi battler :3
As for the 2nd Gen, Umbreon was indeed not that great, even less option than it has now
It still had the annoying Mean Look/Baton Pass which kept it from being completely useless I guess. And it has some nice defenses/Hp.
It just got better after each new Generation. (Like pretty much everything else xD)

Kinda, that's why I always prefered Vaporeon. In 1st generation when only 3 Eeveelutions existed I didn't like Jolteon and Flareon went on Attack instead of Special when it had Special attacks. So I grabbed Vaporeon. Also liked its looks and cry

I like that there's more moves. The bad thing is that everything is becoming too multiplayer fixated.

What do you mean by that? Like, Pokemon becoming to much about battling?

In the 1st generation you had to get 4 evolutions through trading and the other 2 starters through trading.

Nowadays it's more than that. Pal park and complete bullshit like that could've been transformed into more singleplayer content instead of multiplayer. For example in Black 2 you get challenge mode and in White 2 you get easy mode (or what they're called) and then if you bought White 2 instead of Black 2 you had to trade that kind of shit as well since Easy mode doesn't even deserve to exist since pokemon games are easy to begin with. Simply give both options to both games instead of doing all the trade bullshit.

I couldn't agree more. In pokemon games nowadays they indeed put to much emphasis on getting everything using trading and stuff. It's so annoying >_>
