The group of angry civilians barged into Musangbeku AKA Ecchi Priest's church. Whether it was because they suspected him to be helping the shikis or they just didn't like that he was to ecchi, they decided to kill him even though it was perfectly clear that he wasn't a shiki... There weren't a lot of villagers left, but since he was just a simple human they easily cornered him near the cross inside the church... He told them that he was on civilian side, but they just didn't care... 2 of the civilians held him from the sides so he couldn't move while Nanashi readied his aim and stabbed the wooden stake right through Musangbeku's heart nailing him ti the cross. And as they thought they don't need church anymore, they also set it on fire...
