maybe, I bought them on TOM few months ago I remember like a warning message saying that tora coins have an expiration date at the end of December so I was kind of aware I have to spend them before the expiration date.
It's a pain in the ass buying tora coins without TOM at least for me, it was so simple just using my credit card (yeah I know it was more expensive but practical) so I'm kinda fucked right now.

learned the hard lesson where the artist can just change the payment tier system and all the back number that u have bought were no longer accessible, even if it was highest tier.
