『I guess people are too lazy to flip a few pages and read the setting of the game then :/』

Hard to call it lazy when his first posts indicate that he isn't going to post the premise, and there is nothing I saw indicating he did otherwise. He finally relents and posts it buried in the middle of the thread. :/
Nobody's going to see it like that.

Ignis; my desire to be efficient also suggests that it would be a great idea if it were possible to make a position of "current MG host", where the holder of the title could get some basic moderator tools for their MG threads, or for the MG section. This would help fix things like when posts suddenly need to be deleted because people said things they shouldn't, locking threads when they are over, etc. Though I realize this is probably too much trouble to implement, I thought I would mention it anyways. :)

Fear kind of created this thread without asking what me for the description of my game... :/

Also I agree with your idea, but some people may have trouble with such powers if they have never used it.
Or they may not want the mod powers at all.

There area select few that would do good with it, but generally speaking, the idea only sounds good on paper.
But then again, I could be wrong :)

Idea: edit it into your first post on the thread, and perhaps get fear to put it in his as well. That way it should be more exposure :)

And yeah the idea is an optimal (or close to optimal) solution assuming you have optimal people, I suppose. It falls apart when you have idiots at the helm (note this is not directed at anyone, I'm just saying it is inevitable :P).
If the implementation of the site was set up in a way that it was easy to create a new class of moderators with some select powers (mainly to alter/remove posts, sticky/close threads, and maybe the ability to make threads with posting permissions), then it would be ideal, otherwise not. A potential safety is that you only have someone with these powers if they are already deemed competent to hold an MG, so you don't expect them to self destruct (which at worst should just make persons annoyed).

『Well, I feel that it would sure be useful though... And there will also be no need to mention mods each time you need their help around the thread. But on the other hand, such need rarely arises so it might just be more of a pain to create that position...』

Which is why it is almost certainly more bother than it's worth, unless one of the people capable of implementing it is bored. :P

『Well, of course, since making "current host" position would at least still mean that there will be still a need to mention mods to change the one who has this position each time the game ends and new one is started... And I'm sure this should be more of a pain then simply coming to stick/unstick/close/etc a few times.』

So you were the one to start this; allow me to formally thank you for doing so.
Because of it, I've learned a lot about myself, and have gain a daughter in the process.
So thank you :)

hey what about me? or am i a nobody....:foreveralone:

Hmm too bad there nothing to turn off nsfw ads or something =w= Or is there?

You could try selectively blocking adds, depending on your blocker, by looking at what sites are sending them and using a wildcard (*) to block their content.

For instance if you have the standard Add Block Plus plugin, you can right click on the page and select "inspect element", where then hovering over things will show you where they are coming from. Then you can use a wildcard to block all traffic from that site (for me on loading this page with adds, I would block ck.juicyads.com/* ).

There are some downsides as you yourself and some others have explored, yes, and my main qualm with the idea that I can think of off the top of my head is the fact that the host changes every cycle, which means that the people having (limited) jurisdiction over the section will need to be reassigned after each cycle. Still, it's not an idea I'd completely rule out. It's possible. For now, I'll bring the matter up to the other admins first and weigh our options; we'll get back to you if we agree on it.

As for NSFW ads being where they shouldn't, maybe you guys could take screenshots and PM them to me with some details (like where and when you saw them) the next time they appear? That'd help us weed out misplaced ads, if any.

Cool cool Ignus. Just don't bother yourselves too much with my musings. :>

As for the NSFW adds, they appear to be showing up in all threads in the MG section. It must be some default when making a new sub forum.

Hmm i meant an option here to not have nsfw ads though i guess they probably cover the most? xD

Ain't practically possible. The codes and serving 'territory' for SFW and NSFW ads differ from each other; therefore, the easiest way to separate the two is to confine NSFW ads to certain sections only.

Spot on. I'd neglected to exclude the new section from having NSFW ads after I created it. I believe Checkmate fixed it while I was away earlier, though, so everything should be in order now. Hit us up if any of you see more NSFW ads where they shouldn't belong.
