well omatsuri has something to do with yukata and kimono renders as well some fireworks? you can image somewhat the potential...

Hmm... Depending from what for a kind of 'matsuri' we're speak: Bunkamatsuri (文化祭 ,culture festival), Gakuen-sai (学園祭, school festival), Tabanata-sai (七夕祭) or Shin'nen-sai (新年祭, New Year festival)? At Tanabata-sai has it between July and Aug. (It's to region-to-region different with the date), where then this still for Aug./SOTM#44 fits - And yeah, yukata's/kimono's/hanabi's are involved...^_^

Ver.1.0: Did at this the light-ray fixed and blurred made the sun, and new the dusts given.

Ver.2.0: At this I did removed the black-thick lines, where then I did rounded/blurred edges made - And like at ver.1.0 the light-ray, sun and dust fixed.
SOTM42.v2_zpsebicgsyn.png

Ver.3.0: Well, this has me a bit longer took it to make every single element, that I get the camera-look.

I'm going to pretty much echo what DA said and pick the third version. I think it adds a nice and unique touch to the sig. It definitely feels much less bland now :) Just one thing, though: since you moved the girl closer to the centre and thus the sun glare thingy, the rays are now more visible on her face and somewhat obstructing her nose and mouth. This is just me, though, because personally, I tend to get bothered by effects overlaying the render's face. Feel free to disagree.

For your second version (if you're also considering using it), I think you need to clean up the remnants more. There's some green part bordering the left side of the signature. It looks like a remnant of cleaning up the background you had to add transparency. Or is that on purpose?

1st Actually I wanted already the 3rd verion use/re-post at Entry-section, but ASF was on my end until now dead, where then...

2nd: I may updatig the 3rd ver. - Btw it was a bit troublesome every single elements make, because on DeviantArt (and at other websites) doesn't gave a brush or pattern set in camera/photo-style. I did then 19 layers summoned for and then myself created the elements....xD

3rd: Hmm... Well, at the 2nd ver. I wanted this visual novel-intro-feeling give (and what you're at left side seeing, is directly the sun-ray of the render remained), where the character introduced will, well what you're at PVs seeing always. - I know, it's heavy it to proper explain, but I hope that you're understanding...xD

Yeah, there was a problem with the network, but everything should be fine now.

For camera-themed brushes, I don't know if they actually exist (I'm not a DeviantArt user myself), but brushes with a "tech" or "digital" feel are easy to find. I don't assume it'd be easy, but it shouldn't be too out of place either to mix 'n' match them to make something that looks like an active recording screen.

For your second version, I think I understand what you're trying to say, but I don't think you really accomplished what you set out to do (;・∀・) If you wanted to make a transition effect, I think it's better to do so within the signature itself. The green area looks like an unfinished border and is unconnected to the core of the signature. You could probably accomplish this by messing around with lighting and similar enhancement effects like sharpening, emphasising the main areas and taking away focus from the transition.

That wasn't the best explanation either, but I hope I managed to give you a picture of sorts.

Yeah, tech and digital (Did under this keywords in the search-bar of DeviantArt and at other related websites given, but...), but they having just geometrically lines, holo-graphy screens, hexagonal patterns and stuff - not in the digital-recording-look (only the circle in the middle of the siggy is from there) way. And 'n'...0.o???

Hmm... Well, I'll this next time so make, how you're me told have (ver. 2) - If we again so a SOTM event having will. But I do think that I with the 3rd ver. remain will, and see how it'll...^_^

I've come across a fair amount of brushes designed to fit in like shapes, but for shapes that are pre-constructed (like the recording screen that you want), I think you'd have a better luck looking for vector shapes than brushes. They're very common in professional marketplaces (i.e. paid resources) but they shouldn't be hard to find on free resource sites either.

Two free sites that I can remember off the top of my head are http://www.brusheezy.com/ and http://www.vectorportal.com/

As for that 'n' part, it means "and". As in "mix and match".

those have very nice staff... i download numerous times from them!
For Brusheezy, check out its sister sites linked at the footer as well. In this context, though, I guess only http://www.vecteezy.com/ would be a point of interest. There's also http://www.bestpsdfreebies.com/ though it doesn't seem to have as many free resources. It's not hard to find other such sites by just Googling around, anyway.

There are also tutorial resources, of course, though more often than not they're aimed at (paying) professionals (except for those on community sites like DeviantArt). The only one I can remember off the top of my head now is http://www.photoshopessentials.com/ though Adobe itself also has tutorials and even videos. It's probably easier to just Google what you want to do (e.g. "how to make <name of effect> in Photoshop") rather than looking at random tutorials, though.

Obviously, most such resources are intended for Photoshop. I realise GIMP users are often marginalised, but it can't be helped. On the positive side, if there's something GNU/Linux users do better than others, it's their community effort, as reflected in the very own plugin repository for GIMP. It also has a lot of things that can help you use Photoshop resources with GIMP.

well i have never used the GIMP but i am using most of the time PS 5.1 and the extra package with brushes (the official plug in for the 5.1 extended) And when i need i use Corel Draw X and sometimes in extreme condition the C4D. But i admit those site are very appealing!

So thanx Ignis ;) I will put those in good use!

I´m a GIMP user myself and so I would like to post some useful links to any other users who would like to add some brushes / patterns / fonts or read some tutorials for GIMP. Hope this can help.

Thank you.

Yeah, my GIMP comment was mainly directed at nanashi :) And you're welcome!

Thanks for the links! How could I have forgotten Obsidian Dawn? Other than gimper.net and the specialised DeviantArt link, though, both Obsidian Dawn and DaFont can be useful for Photoshop users as well. DaFont is also useful for anyone looking for custom fonts typefaces. It's also my personal favourite because it arranges the categories neatly.

And nice to see another GIMP user. Looks like nanashi isn't alone anymore. (Not that I'm one myself, but for my part, while I have my problems with Adobe and would sure like to ditch its products for good, I just can't get used to GIMP in lieu of Photoshop.)

Thanks Ignis for the extra source materials, I'll sure browsing through the different offers what the websites offering - And again, you're always a big help, you're for me the Admin of the Year, 2016^_^!

And I don't have problem with PS source materials, because GIMP can since his/her 2.4 ver. time also PS-prushes/patterns/etc. use...:goodtea:

I've only done simple stuff! But thanks for the kind words :)

I see, that's pretty nice. I knew GIMP users always had methods for using Photoshop resources like brushes and such, but I thought that required the use of additional components like a plugin or something similar. Good to know that it can now handle Photoshop resources on its own, though.

Lol, you're deserve that!

Ehmm... Lol, I downloading just the source patch, extract of the RAR or 7zip file, where then this to GIMP's folders add (in C disc): If about brushes are then in the brush folder, if about patterns are then in the pattern folder... - But if a blugin file is then I've it in GIMP install.

This image from neregate it's small than the one i have. And yeah i took that as basic image and i add additional effects mixing some renders with multiple effects and change the coloring. And also this one has some noise maybe was done in purpose? don't know but the bigger one has no noise on her.

But i believe that kitsune mask girl it's perfect for making a signature to render her.
