Actually, if you have been carefully reading, every main heroine routes (plus Meguri) has a varying degree of that backlash, only in that route is the most direct while others are indirect and can be interpreted simple as changes in circumstances.

True. I had the most direct one in Kanae's in mind when I typed my post, but yeah all of them revolved around the supernatural element.

Thanks for the explanations & suggestions! I guess I'll try to find 妹のおかげでモテすぎてヤバい and see if the style fits me, since everyone seems to agree about Kanae's cuteness. The game's genre subtext (目的の女の子以外は眼中になし! 振って!振って!振りまくる!ADV / Only have eyes for the girl you aim for! Reject! Reject! Keep rejecting!) is a little scary for my poor fragile heart but... I should be able to do one route at least, right? Though I suppose the mentioned little sister is probably either the last in the list or worse, locked until all are cleared. We'll see.

Finished Karigurashi Renai. This wacky game is quite unique. Takuma moved back to the town where he had spent his childhood but found that his house was no longer habitable. Luckily his four osananajimi came to the rescue by allowing him to stay at their places. The problem is, these girls are not normal.

There's Ayaka, the younger osananajimi, who seems normal at first, but she's actually a closet pervert. She's also living with a big family most of which are against letting Takuma stay, and they're all crazy in one way or another. And there's Kyou, who looks like a reliable onee-chan but in reality is a very lazy person who refuses to cook, clean the house or do laundry. Her room just looks no different than a garbage dump. And there's Hiyori who's the most intellectually challenged in the groups She tends to do stupid things or make stupid comments which often results in her own suffering. She also has a mother who tries to steal Takuma's innocence. And lastly, Rito is the classic tsundere who initially antagonizes Takuma but becomes very clingy later on. She displays her violent side from time to time when someone is seen getting closed to Takuma.

This is a comedy game with no actually story, just a constant stream of comedy from start to finish. The romance is there, somewhere, in the background. One can feel it but they shouldn't play the game for it because that isn't what this game is about. The romance is strongest in Rito's route but that makes the comedy quite weak, which in turn makes her route feel short and boring. In terms of what this game is trying to present I think Ayaka has the best route. The many distinct personalities in her family provide a lot of manzai material that will not bore. The good thing about this game is that there is no needless drama which writers shove into the plot to give some kinds of token climaxes. It stays true to being a comedy game from start to end. Sadly that's also a bad thing; because there's no story, if the comedy doesn't interest the readers then there's nothing left in the game to engage them. One more thing I'd complain about is the balance. There's so much laughing that the romance is very barely noticeable. The romance transition is swift and not well-paced, and you'll enter a heroine's route before you know it. And having 5-6 ero scenes per heroine is normal, but for this kind of game it's just too much, as it simply hasn't set the proper mood for ero scenes. There are other minor cons like displaying wrong character sprites or not having voice acting for minor characters, but I'll overlook that.

In conclusion, this is not a game for you if you want romance, but it's a top comedy game and for me it was really fun while it lasted.

A quick review cuz I'm going to start Atropos soon. I see that it requires DMM Player activation and I'm a little struggling with it right now. =\

I just tested it, and it should work without problems if you replace the original 時間停止と不可避な運命.exe with the cracked one from the torrent section. The only weird thing was that running the install.exe showed only question marks instead of the JP name, but it would let me install the VN normally nontheless (fortunately).

Thanks. I’m using the physical copy though. Now I got it to work.

About the ??? part, the installer refuses to show Japanese text even if you set everything in control panel to Japanese. You need either actual Japanese OS, or locale emulator. Anyway it shouldn’t prevent the installation of the game.

Eh, Ayaka's route humor is really particular though, and to be honest I hated most of her family. Be that the little sister spitting in the face, the little brother masturbating naked at every occasion, the mother who treats the protagonist like trash or the dad that wants to kill him. Ayaka's route was also pretty annoying with this insistence on brother/sister stuff that just... doesn't exist! Best route in my opinion is Hiyori by far, with a good balance of jokes and cute romantic moments, best heroine being Nanako because Toono Soyogi. Kyou's route was a little too heavy on the sex but that is her character, and I liked the conclusion that doesn't follow the classic pattern for heroines like her (更正). Rito was okay, but the humor pales in comparison to the other routes, and the romance is pretty standard moege fare.

I thought it was fine as it was.

Quick comments on 妹のおかげでモテすぎてヤバい。 : As expected the fact that some heroines are charmed by the curse/blessing and not by the protagonist himself or his actions prevented me from enjoying some of the routes. It just feels wrong, especially in Maina and Aoba's case. The premise was pretty terrible from the start, basically our protagonist saw a girl once and decided that she will be his, all of that without even talking to her once! I understand the concept of love-at-first-sight, but come on, at least TRY to get to know her a little before you bet your whole life on it (he doesn't, jumped straight to confession the first chance he had). This is not a relationship, this is just pure desire and ego. Not to mention that he can easily change his mind and happily go on other routes...

Seeing the protagonist crushed after each rejection was also irritating, along with Meguri comforting him "you're suffering too...", yeah right. Kanae was okay, but I didn't find her that cute either, just... okay. The drama was a little blown out of proportions in her route, and the "link-everyone's-fate" thing was pretty hard to swallow. Meguri's route was pretty cute, even if a little too convenient. Genius little sister should really have read a little more about the ceremony before basically forcing it on the protagonist (given she has complete control over him). Sub heroine Yurika was a very cute character but she suffers from the "falls entirely because of the magic" thing, as well as the teacher. Not a terrible game, and worth playing for Meguri's route alone.

deep one is 13gb... i hope it worth it... saw the summary and find it quite appealing... almost pre-ordered them, but i better hold it off till i really sure it's worth the price.

i don't wanna experience buying another trash game.... kenseiki alpha ride & Kiss to Maou to Darjeeling
those 2 titles are my nightmare!

It seems we're on different wavelengths, but the curse in Kamiyaba's routes just feels wrong, that I agree with. =\

And I'm starting Atropos. The first part that the protag started pulling antics on impulse had me worried a bit, but looks like it won't be going that direction after all. Still hard to believe that he's forgiven quite easily though.
Animaksiat; it's okay. You can always rob some bank. =\

I was also somewhat interested in Deep One, but (as I always do now) after glancing over a walkthrough it became clear the game follows the "one route and branching bad ends" approach which also means no actual heroine route, and I lost all interest I had in it.
Currently the reviews are pretty bad on EGS. It doesn't necessarily mean the game itself is bad but some comments are pretty telling. Main reproach seems to be that only two of the four heroines actually have scenes in the game, and that the scenario is boring and predictable. Maybe try the extended (13gb) demo before buying?

Picked up Atropos because HCG's too good to ignore. It goes by pretty quick...4 hours or so for route split.

Needing DMM to activate...are platforms becoming mandatory the way forward?

Just finished Sakura's route in Atropos.
The good:
- Seeing Yuuma becoming motivated about something
- The hints of what the "standard" future would look like; according to Hakua nothing too bright, but better than some cliché death in future stuff (so far?).

The bad:
- The pacing: Nothing really progressed in their relationship between one "extreme" (for lack of a better term) to the other as it focused on Yuuma's motivation to study and that medical leg-thingy subject for Sakura's sake. But Sakura herself felt somehow being neglected (obviously) during those segments.
- The final drama about the Atropos watch. Was never hinted before and never mentioned afterwards. If I had to guess, I'd say it will - if at all - reappear in Hakua's route, but nontheless.
So yeah, it felt somewhat unfulfilling in general.

Just finished ろけらぶ - 同棲×後輩, and it was alright. I'd say it felt like a much-abridged and sex-focused Amakano route, which isn't a necessarily a bad thing. Hiwa, the heroine, reminded me of Koharu a lot because of her physique and personality, maybe that's why... The whole sewayaki and bouseiteki angle was a little off though, and maybe Hiwa's dedication to making the protagonist happy was cranked a little too high. The story is very sugary, but somewhat lacking in terms of daily life depictions. There are some ichaicha moments that don't involve sex, but not that many. The drama that happens near the end felt rushed and didn't make too much sense as to the "main antagonist"'s motivation, since the situations are nowhere near similar. It is resolved relatively quickly though. It was nice for once playing a Frontwing game that doesn't feature a super-donkan or oddball as a protagonist, he's not too brave or proactive and he doesn't hold a candle to Amakano's protagonist, but he's alright which is already a big progression in my book. I'll probably check out the other entries when they come out.

Finished Ruri route myself. I need a break...

I think that final drama with the Watch is supposed to be something of a sucker punch to the reader, that there's literally no hint or sign of it outside of one "sayonara". I knew that sh*t would go wrong right at those words, and it really went to heck.
...and in Ruri route's explanation of Yuuma's fate is pretty dark around the end. Before it went there it started with a dialogue on what time stop is...which I didn't quite comprehend (or even bothered to).

It's that thing with Kanae all over again...

Done with Noa route. Rushed the lattter half or so of it because I saw sh*t hitting the fan from that distance. Granted, the drama was in the end very much overblown. Not a big fan of it nonetheless.

The specter looming over the protagonist got dealt with in some of the simplest mean to do so, and it worked to perfection in this route...

What coincidence, I just finished he route as well :D. I agree, even I saw in what shape drama would be coming. Overall, I thought the route wasn't too bad. I also quite liked Sakura's and Ruri's support role in the route. Maybe that's me, but I was kinda glad they kept the "drama" - despite the not so favorable situation - on the "funny" side if that makes any sense *lol*.
I also assume that due to how her route focused an another aspect generally, we saw no glimpse of the "standard future" nor the drawback of the Atopos watch mentioned in Sakura's route.
At the final drama, Hakua revealed that the watch has an upper usage limit, I think 100 times or so?. So after using it for the 100th time, the user would become trapped in the time-stopped world/dimension(?) with no way of return

Done with Kanon route. Onwards to Sakura myself. She's never wasted in other routes thus far.

I didn't rush very much (though I went at a rather brisk pace) because it's relatively benign overall as it's mostly about Kanon's time-stop sci-fi novel she writes. Only a (big) misunderstanding to clear up near the end (with the help from a stern sermon from Sakura showing how rock-solid his head can be followed by a time stop shenanigans), and Kanon's hunch about the watch was spot-on (the only reference to the watch's drawbacks). Although, surprise party cliche brace (personally hate 'em; they make my stomach turn for some reason).

Having been to Ruri's route first and with your info, beginning of Sakura's route I can see why it would be brought up,must partly because the naughty brocon. Also, it went deeper than that in Ruri's route with regards to the watch's backfiring.

As for Noa...it was such a perfect storm on how things came together during the last drama part...most of the story is just showoffs though so it's even less fulfilling...

Reread doubtful...

Anyone tried demo of "Amazing Grace" by Cabbage Soft?
I was intrigued by the plot... Looks like moe, but it seems like one else time trip feature?

I didn't play Hoshi Koi Tinkle by that company, but would be glad if someone decides to give me an advice, what I can expect from them. Thanks.

And, as I can see, that game is about Bible, art paintings from different centuries, and also ancient myphology...

Trial hook

Done with the four defauly heroines routes on Atropos (and two full chapters into Hakua route)...come to think of it, I haven't read with this much fervor for months if not over a year...it's not exactly a pleasant read either, but more only for the ero.

Sakura's route got so much Sakura view...it shows both her brocon and later on how far gone the MC have become. The watch's limit turned out to be the only thing that snapped him out of it, regardless of whether you know of it or not. Granted, they only had sex and not dating, or so it went...

Take Noa ---> Kanon ---> Sakura ---> Ruri, in this order, for minimum spoilers. You will pretty much see certain things coming from a mile away if you're like me and do Ruri first.

Kanon's story is the most readable to me so far...guess I'm pretty militant about drama...

Done with Hakua route.

Hakua is his cousin.
She is his first love.
A Happy End without doubt.

Stupid haiku aside, it goes into what Hakua really is and what caused all the mess.

The mess is completely cleaned up and left without a trace by the end. A very happy ending by the mandate of heavens, which apparently transcend Fates themselves. Sakura is VERY scary this time around.
Still not worth re-reading though.

Kurumi's route is actually pretty satisfying after all the sh*t needed to even get access to it..because you actually get to rid yourself of that accursed watch...just because you fell for the secondary choice very normal girl...

As I'm done with Atropos and I haven't have this kind of fervor for such a long time I think this warrants a separate post.

A time stop game that crushes the dream of time stop pervs. Not that this particular time stop can be used for much more than peeping with its 5-minute limit and unable to touch anyone in their flesh (it brings them into the space where time is stopped), and to put the insult to injury Hakua keep nudging at Yuuma to use it that way almost every time the Watch was brought up only to get rebutted without fail (Actually, it was only used for that purpose exactly once while dating Ruri, discreetly taking off her swimwear). Actually, it isn't even much about time stop but more about fate (Atropos is the youngest of the Fates who cut the thread of fate), that messing with time will cause great changes to the (predetermined) future.

Why did Ruri forgive Yuuma so easily about trying to touch her breast? She is the daughter of a pharma bigwig who was stressed out by her soccer mom (who ended up planning to transfer her to an all-girls school) and she has found all sorts of stress relief in time stopping, going as far as to agreeing to be quiet about it which led to quite a few misadventures including sabotaging her cram school session to go to the pool. Yuuma stopped Ruri from bursting at her mother in anger after getting caught by her by stopping time which allowed her to calmly reconcile with her family (note: her father was on her side but he's oft absent and leave the house in his wife's care) and avert transferring school.

The Sakura accident: Sakura was expected to be a ballet dancer but was hit by a car at a crossing despite the signal for people to cross. Yuuma did not take as much injury but it did a number to his psyche from blaming himself for his sister's accident despite her best effort to convince him otherwise. It took a long time for Sakura to recover to a level where she could function (she cannot run with her damaged legs). This becomes the drive for Yuuma to go into medical research to get Sakura's legs back to normal. The accident's detail was brought up in Hakua's route.

Knowing that the Atropos watch has a 100-use limit gave Noa's route a full tube of buckshots into the plot almost at point-blank range - it was never brought up at all there where the usage was ampred up the most which make that particular aspect as if being pulled out Hakua's arse to create drama - it was only mentioned in Sakura's route right after she took it out and started spamming it after being neglected by her beloved brother and in Ruri's route was apparently to make that mandatory Sakura's use matter. It was extended for an additional 100 uses at the conclusion of Ruri's story, which it was used for its "intended purpose" right afterwards. There was nothing of note about the watch on Kanon's route, only that when offered to her to use near the end she relented, saying it such great power may carry serious repercussions when overused, which is actually spot-on, and Yuuma agrees, not using it anymore from then on. Should've asked "what's the catch", eh?

Things can exist given "significance". This is apparently what brought Yuuma back from the Limbo (concurrent with a competition between Ruri and Sakura to profess their love to Yuuma) and later on Hakua with her acquiantances and siblings doing their best to remember her. When Yuuma confessed that he needed Azusa (she's Clotho, another one of the Fates), she was allowed to exist not as a fate but as a human. Hakua was freed from her Atropos existence by bearing Yuuma's child (much to, hillariously, Sakura's fury, and on that topic Hakua is VERY scared of Sakura because she promised not to date Yuuma a long time ago only to do just that) and by the time that child was born all traces of her Atropos existence is gone. How nice!

What the hell is Hakua Hiiragi? The cousin part wasn't a lie as affirmed by Yuuma's mother (her only major appearance in Hakua's route and the entire game actually) and Sakura at various times. She was afflicted by an unusual sickness that will cut her life short and was hospitalized at around the same time as Sakura in the same hospital. Yuuma's ambition to become a researcher was not so much for Sakura's leg but for Hakua, his first love. Hakua was on the brink of death, as she declared she couldn't die just yet, time stopped moving, and she became Atropos by the mean of another Fate, Clotho, nearby, to keep existing to not cause any more damage to Yuuma (and Sakura)'s psyche. She could no longer interfere directly with their fates, only watching over them as their fates unfold. Apparently the Watch was a way for her to indirectly "nudge" the fate, in hope to avert a gloomy fate that awaits Yuuma.

Yuuma's fate is as follows: He will become a researcher who move humanity to the next stage with his research into regenerative cells, that lost limbs can be regenerated and immortality was not far from sight. Although to he himself it will not be a happy one - He will marry Ruri, but it will be a marriage of convenience as she is the daughter of a big pharma corporation - a loveless marriage. That research will take so long that it almost do not matter to his goal of fixing Sakura's legs, as the lost time cannot be taken back. In a version told in the Limbo, it went down the path that said research will bring humanity to war. Knowing this, Hakua, as Atropos, decided to give Yuuma the Watch, in hope that this gloomy fate of her beloved little cousin can be averted by messing with time, changing the predetermined future.

Ruri: "It's that Limbo with Kanae all over again"

After Ruri resolved her family problem and a while of dealing with their feelings she and Yuuma started dating, they time-stopped their way into the cram school and fucked there. They went to the pool, stripped while time stopped, fucked again, got away by time stopping. Hakua suddenly says farewell along with the watch usage limit. Ruri, wanting to thank Hakua properly, decided to use the watch to get to her, but the one use by Sakura slipped their attention and they went into the Limbo. After they reached Kurose house, Yuuma ejected Ruri from the Limbo intending to shoulder the burden of disappearance alone. Ruri was ejected in front of Sakura who admitted that one unknown use took her brother into the Limbo. Deciding that it is not the time to grief, the duo found Noa and Kanon as Yuuma's disappearance from memories starting to have effect, the heroines managed to keep remembering him by repeating his name, found their way to the nurse Azusa, another acquaintance who also show signs of forgetting but managing to remember, for more about Yuuma and a little advice on existence. Meanwhile in the Limbo, Yuuma had a dialogue with Hakua on what time stop is and his fate. Suddenly the stopped Watch started to move. Snap to Ruri and Sakura professing their love to Yuuma, he appeared in front of them, Ruri rushed into hugging him followed by Noa to his right and Kanon to his left. Later, The lovers discussed their future, along with that the Watch was extended for an extra 100 uses, which was used at least once.

Sakura: "The neglected Brocon wants to stare at his dick in the Limbo, narrowly averted."

It begins with Sakura starting to use the Watch more and more to stare more at her brother's dick, get caught doing it, get broken into her room by time stop, fucked, make up, her brother neglected her (TBF, they just fucked but not dating) in his obsession to heal her leg, she started to overuse watch, limit revealed, talked down before it was too late, officially start dating, stopped by a love hotel, happy end. So focused on her brocon and the thirst to look at his dick that there was nothing much to say than that.

Noa: "Showoff..."

Noa became involved with an occult forum. She posted that she fell in love with a superpower man (not really superpower). Noa got saved by time-stopping onii-san yet again, and she eventually confessed her love when saved that way again, apologizing to Sakura for it. After a date at the pool a sinister force began to move against the timestopper in the form of a series of attacks which were all averted with the watch usage. At one point Sakura told Yuuma to find his happiness with Noa and not to worry about her leg so much which freed him from his past burdens. He was attacked in front of Noa's house one day dropping his watch. Noa picked up the watch and went to Kurose house in tears, Sakura, deducing what has happened immediately, asked for the watch and took Noa out. They found the first of assailants (the ones who were there and that caused Noa's confession) and Sakura "convinced" them with the Watch to talk of their employer, thanking them for their cooperations afterwards. The said employer turned out to be Azusa, who was the caretaker of the occult site Noa was on, going by the name "AZ" and using a picture of the hospital which Sakura recognized and was the other piece of evidence that brought her there. Azusa said that there are all sorts of people including former secret service and the likes on the lookout for supernatural powers. Sakura decided to contact Ruri, who then took the Watch into her custody. With Azusa's guidance they came to the mysterious assailants' hideout, Ruri dispatching two with the Watch, giving it back to Noa, telling her to go get her sweetheart while remarking that if anyone appears to harm her, hit back with superpower. The third assailant laid in ambush but was defeated with two Watch clicks. Azusa took care of the rest as the drama conclude. Yuuma and Noa decided to fuck in the park, and afterwards found himself going into occult, getting to know lots of people out of it.

Kanon: "Literary pursuit, with help from actual experience. Feat. time stop break-in."
Encounters with Kanon moved towards the novel she writes (which is of time-stop genre, "coincidentially"), she was so embarrassed about it that after much persuasion she will only let Yuuma read it. It turned out so good to him he pushed Kanon to show it to the circle of friends. A chance meeting with Azusa's publisher friend got Kanon into seriously writing novels. Kanon's fell sick from stress, and with one use of the Watch got her back on her feet. Yuuma decided to gather ideas for Kanon's novels in notes, which Kanon reads and noticed something was amiss. He asks Ruri for her cooperation in gathering time-stop ideas only to be caught phasing out by Kanon at the station. After a lecture about cheating from Sakura, Yuuma sought to right things by time-stopping his way to Kanon, and made her experience time-stop as a gesture of good faith, after which she agreed to reconcile and rekindled their love right then. They discussed the Watch and Yuuma decided not to use it again, Kanon reasoning that such great power may carry repercussions when overused. The completed novel gets published. They were happily together at the end.

Hakua: "Impregnate that first love of yours goddess to turn her back to mortal"
Yuuma kissed Hakua at the pool to see what the hell she really was, only to dredge up old memories that Hakua was his first love, with great difficulty and uncertainty whether it was even real or just dream. After a while of information-gathering he, with great difficulty, realized that it all was real professed his love with the words from childhood. They continued to date normally for a time. She was set to be erased from existence for falling in love with Yuuma for real. Yuuma says "screw you" to Clotho (Azusa) and turned back time with the Watch. Got Hakua back intact with child in womb (timeline merging?) along with Sakura's fury. VERY happy end as the child being born completely wipe all traces of Atropos from her. It is never told what happened to Hakua's illness that claimed her life.
Hakua may appear to be perverted, but she actually flusters very easily when she's on the receiving end of the things she doils out.

Kurumi: "Screw fate imma date that background girl"
In a version that Ruri's transferring school drama did not easily went by, Kurumi tries to depend on herself on exam with Yuuma cheering her on and the feeling started to build up within her heart. After getting a bit of advice from Kanon-senpai, she confessed her love to Yuuma and fucked, which screwed the fate up HARD that Hakua prematurely disappears (on a decent terms with Yuuma, him noting that he should remember her whenever he looks at clocks). They had a bright future ahead of them that way as they went around announcing their relationships to their surprise individuals (Kanon for Yuuma, Sakura [plus Noa] for Kurumi)

Azusa: "Love turns yet another goddess to mortal"
Azusa (as Clotho) muses about memory. At a chance meeting at the burger joint she asked for Yuuma's help with the hospital fair. He did help out with the Watch. She treated him to dinner than took him into a hotel where they fucked. As summer break rolled in Yuuma's mind was heavy with her thoughts as he found his new interest in regenerative cells. Eventually he faced up to his feelings after accompanying Sakura to her hospital appointment, going back and confessed to Azusa, who took him to a storehouse and fucked again. She mused to Atropos that even if they were not supposed to know each other, they could've been good friends, that they should discuss their "beloved Yuuma" over tea. Yuuma's need for Azusa sustains her existence as a normal human being as they met up at the hospital...

Final Verdict: As with things that involve time it turns messy real quick. Then again, it's probably my bias against things that makes my stomach turn... Good for the H. Not very much worth rereading for story...I guess it's too diluted to be either romance, serious attempt at science in time stop, or dialogue on fate.

That... seems like a lot to go through just for the H... It seems the company took the trend started in 妹のおかげでモテすぎてヤバい to new heights, blowing their setting to proportions that I would consider both unfitting for a charage and more importantly, distracting from the ichaicha with cute heroines. Is there any space left for dates and such in such a mess? I see neglect mentioned relatively often, that's never a good feeling to go through. As for the ero, I read that the scenes amount got cut to make room for 3 CGs per, and that each heroine has a mandatory solo scenes, was it enough?

I'm currently playing through ルリのかさね ~いもうと物語り~ after a long pause, and I'm quite sad that the plot point that made me stop in the first place doesn't seem to get ever addressed :
It is explained very early on that Ruri is not Kenji's sister but ... his niece. When Ruri and Kenji parents die in the ever convenient traffic accident, the story seems to hint that Ruri will be put into an orphanage because Kenji is still a high school kid with no resources but his fading family temple. And yet, they decide that they'll become siblings, and they do! Just like that, magic! No more social services visits, no problems from the law or government, nothing... Seems a little far fetched to me, but I don't know Japanese customs that well. Maybe the son of a shinto priest that will inherit the temple (albeit pretty unpopular) has enough influence to make that happen?
Anyway, second thing that is making me stop again, is the very opaque route selection of the game. Basically in the prologue you have an avalanche of seemingly unimportant choices that seem to share a theme (nice to Ruri/ klutz/ drunk/ whiner), and that's how you choose the route. That's fine as it is, but the tragic part is that if like me you're too nice to Ruri you may very well end up in the Ruri/Ruri route that majorly spoils the drama that happens in the Ruri route at multiple points, seriously lowering the impact that route would have had otherwise. I would really recommend a walkthrough to make sure to read the Ruri route FIRST. As usual with Nekonekosoft the ero is pretty much useless and the romance isn't good either but the rest (characters/story presentation/feelings) is as usual very much worth it. I'll probably take a few days to prepare my heart for Ruri route, and then go on to Yura. Ruri/ruri romance alternative was so forceful at the start that I don't feel like playing it, it shatters the characters the game took so much pain to build. Most likely will skip Ichiko because Tachibana Mao.

That... seems like a lot to go through just for the H...

Sadly...you are kinda on the mark there. There's just as many dates as there are H. The worse thing is that too often that you can sense spectres looming over you as you spend time with the heroines...it's fate, after all. The only time I feel that said burden is not there is with Kanon's story...for the main heroines anyway.

Those 3 by 3 scenes are pretty lengthy if you read through it though. I'd estimate something like at least well over 30-40 mins (hell, I'd put it on 45 or 50, but I'm just estimating) on default auto speed *each* so I'd say it's enough. The interesting choice here is that for the "friend" type heroines they change how they call each other during their first Hscenes. You probably wouldn't get their first name basis aftewards if you skip those.

A little late but I also finished Atropos. For me this is the most disappointing Hulotte game yet. I want to say Ikegami Akane single-handedly carries this whole game. Well the common route is okay, but it hits all the wrong notes after that. What a waste of all the cute heroines.

- The undesired effect of abusing the watch. Shouldn't that be the first and foremost thing one should be thinking and worrying about before playing with supernatural stuff like this? Yet this is only mentioned when it's convenient for plot progression.

- Hakua's teasing gets old and annoying quick.

- Ruri's route isn't even about Ruri. They were just out of ideas so they had to improvise something out of Hakua. I feel common route plot should actually go to her individual route instead, or they should at least make some truly good use of Yuuma's original fate.

- I personally dislike the messed up order of relationship progression. In this case, ero scenes which come before the confession. It's quite painful for me to read through certain routes for this.

- Kanon's first ero scene happens outdoors. Really?

- Hakua's route is pretty anticlimactic.

- On second thought, they're all pretty anticlimactic.

- For plot, just read Ruri and Hakua route and skip everything else.

- Can't say I like these less but longer ero scenes.

- My favorite heroines are Ruri and Noa (assuming all plots are disregarded). Best route goes to Kurumi, objectively. =\

Gonna pick something on my backlog. Starting Newton to Ringo no ki now.

You're not late, I haven't even started Atropos yet! Not sure if I will though.

Quick comments on recently (or less recently) read routes from:
The start felt a lot like Sumire from the game bearing her name, but a little less touching. Still, I liked the slow but steady gains in confidence that she shows in the beginning of her route, and it was rather interesting until the game decided that it needed a multiple years time skip and change her personality 180°. Second part is more about romance, if you can call it that... Super donkan protagonist that only realizes her feelings years after she started showing special attention to him didn't help : I mean come on, she drives him to work and back every day, helps at the temple for nothing, keeps poking at opportunities to get closer. And suddenly, he caves in, but she starts having doubts, breaks up only to come back running but a few days later, jumping into the arms of a protagonist who hasn't tried to chase after her at all in the meantime. Happy end!
A rather generic romance story with a slight touch of mystery, but I liked it. I especially enjoyed the little interludes with the two little demons at the end of each chapter, their hints at the story progression and red-herrings kept me guessing a bit more than if the story just flowed without them. The game's structure is a little atypical, front-loading all the drama in a very safe all-ages format in the first half, then switching to sukebe mode (for once, and surprisingly, not so much from the protagonist) in the after story. All in all a very simple game, perhaps sometimes pushing it a little too far, like when it doesn't even bother giving a name to anyone around the couple, even their friends with sprites.
Not much to say about this one, the heroine is cute but the "school idol perfect human being" setting wasn't really that necessary since it's not used at all. The protagonist is mister-serious which is good, but he's also mister super-sheltered-life-can't-do-anything which isn't that good. Most of the plot revolves around the fast-paced romance and a tiny little bit of drama with the old maid at the end. The art was pretty good, it is rather short and it didn't hit any wrong notes so good for a lonely evening.
As for the upcoming November releases, anyone expecting something in particular? I played a bit of the demo of 封緘のグラセスタ, the next Eushully title, but I can't say I really enjoyed the card battle-like mechanics as much as I enjoy their tactical RPGs. The story seems to be rather dark oriented, though I only played until the "capture". Eushully being Eushully, maybe the obligatory harem theme will be less insufferable with a darker outlook.

You're right - I would've left it had it not been for the illust.

- The undesired effect of abusing the watch. Shouldn't that be the first and foremost thing one should be thinking and worrying about before playing with supernatural stuff like this? Yet this is only mentioned when it's convenient for plot progression.
It's literally pulled outta Hakua'a arse when it's needed...apparently Kanon's the only one with enough intelligence to even think about it...so much for Yuuma's genius!

- Hakua's teasing gets old and annoying quick.
She loses all her cool when she's the one getting teased though (especially when her milk comes out)...that's good enough payback for me.

- Ruri's route isn't even about Ruri. They were just out of ideas so they had to improvise something out of Hakua. I feel common route plot should actually go to her individual route instead, or they should at least make some truly good use of Yuuma's original fate.
Given that the entire idea of the watch is to avert that fate to begin with...maybe it's a little too grand to work into the story and as a result the writers wrote themselves into a corner in that regard...

You count masturbation? Personally that's a no-count for me, but hey, individual choices.

- Kanon's first ero scene happens outdoors. Really?
Pretty weird coming from a girl of that personality, true...but it's not exactly a new phenomenon.

- Hakua's route is pretty anticlimactic.
- On second thought, they're all pretty anticlimactic.
It doesn't know what it wants to be, a drama or a feelgood story.

- For plot, just read Ruri and Hakua route and skip everything else.
Reading almost everything else only make them get point-blank buckshots to the plot anyway...

- Can't say I like these less but longer ero scenes.
That's upwards of 1 hour each and 10-20 mins for masturbation scenes on default auto speed...

- My favorite heroines are Ruri and Noa (assuming all plots are disregarded). Best route goes to Kurumi, objectively. =\

Kanon has most likeable personality followed by the normal Kurumi, rest, sadly, are onahole...Ruri to a lesser extent of that though.

So you find it satisfying to kick the fate to the curb too, huh? You mess the fate up so very hard that way.

Finally got around to IxSheTell to go along with the long WoWS grind...it's 5 common chapters+9 route chapters, and it goes by pretty quickly in all regards compared to other Hooksoft games. It's the tailend drama design again...two down three to go.

I love how Yoshino likes getting petted...and typhoon sex...

pingtoryan;
Nope, I was referring to Sakura and Azusa's route. I don't have anything against masturbation scenes.

kzel; Nothing. Just waiting for Shirokoi Sakura * Gram next month and Happiness! 2 in January. Until then only backlog for me. =\

Newton to Ringo no Ki has some interesting settings, but also has the most generic protag I've ever seen.
Also, only noticed now that this game has English localization lol.
