Ohayo Mina-san :D

It's my first post ! I wanna share with you my opinion about Otome games. For the majority of people we start first by discovering the world of manga and then anime and we love them so much and start watching them a lot !
then we become picky ! according to the story that we may like 'BUT' those anime storys pursuit a specific line made by the author... I don't now if it happens to you but sometimes I wish that the story could follow the way that I wanted probably because I find it more intersing so I think Otome games give us in some way the oppertunity to write our own story .That how I see it and it's more intersing like that ^.^

PS: apologise if I'm not posting this in the right place and for my bad english ^.^

I love them because.....BISHOUNEN~ x3 I like a lot of the plots too though ^^ They're plain fun to play when you've got some time (or not) XD

I like otome games for its shiny illustrations (like Kuro to Kin) and cute tsun-tsun boys.
And seiyuu (¬‿¬)
Hino Satoshi in yandere-oniichan state, Kaji Yuki in any form, Do-S Sakurai Takahiro... And this list could
lengthen forever, I think.

I have played otome games for a few years and the reasons I love otome games is because of:
1. The beautiful artworks (sparkly *Q*)
2. The voice acting of the male characters
3. The story lines and the POV, which allows me to experience it in first person
4. The feels/emotions I get

Yeah, sometimes the game doesn't go in the direction I want it to go... Like in BWS: Bloody Nightmare Auger's route....... I pretty much rage quit after that. In other occasions, the story preference is mostly based on the opinion of the player.

I also hate it when the heroine is a doormat. Yeah that kinda pisses me off too. >.>

Most of the time, whenever games give me the "wow-that-character-is-a-rapist" or "wow-that-plot-twist-slash-trolling-attempt-is-terrible" reaction, I just stop playing otome games and start to go into other genres. Or when I feel like reading a story that I know I'll like, I'll just start to write a story based on what I want to read. If only my thoughts could magically transform themselves into an otome game... T_____T God, it would be the best fucking game ever.

I think what I love from otome games is the story that make me feel various emotions, then make me understand that what choice I take in mylife its can make a big impact to me too. I'm not just playing the games, but I also found the values inside otome games

Beside that, I love the seiyuu's voice :3

I haven't been playing Otome games that long, and I haven't played many, but they're really fun. The first one I played was the fist Tokimeki Memorial Girlside. You had Hazuki falling asleep everywhere and Mihara who is seems obsessed with beautiful things--what's not to like? lol
But yeah, I like the voice acting, the sparkly pictures, and how the guys narrow their eyes whenever they get serious.

when i first got into virtual novels i got into normal gendre i downloaded rewrite and so but i didnt complete quarter it then desserted it i love otome game bec. they make me experince something that i wont expirence in real life while when i play normal vn i didnt feel it at all and for all feeling i get while playing them it makes me fell that im the one in the game

i went so far as to start learning japanese just to play otome games since the best of them are psp and japanese

The reason why I love otome games so much is because it makes me forget that in real life- I'll be forever alone (T▽T) (Plus who doesn't like hot bishounen guys with Japanese voice acting~?)

hmm the reason i like otome games kinda dunno how to say it, when i first started play it, i suddenly feel like to playing it.

I laos like learn japanese cuz it would be easy to play the otome game .

The main reason why I play otoge is that the stories in the normal romance mangas and even jrpgs are always the same and bore me to death after playing and reading so much. Otoges give new views and versions to the stories we all know already and because the main chosen guy is always different, the story won't develop the way it usually develops with the stereotypical main romance interest. The stereotypes are still there but the development is different. and the settings are interesting, since most otoges give something new or different from the usual stuff. Novels and manga do always the same thing, VNs have to be diverse to be able to sell.

But I really hate it when the heroine is a doormat.

and they really help with Japanese. Because of Otoges I was able to get from JLPT level N3 to N2.

I was got in by my cousin, the first otome game I ever played was "Tokimeki Memorial Girl Side 1st Love DS"! And then I started to like otome games because of their beautiful drawings, characters and wants to enjoy love stories that I won't experience in my real life!!

1. BISHIEEEEE
2. BISHIEEEEEEE
3. BISHIEEEEEEEEEE
*bricked
4. Seiyuus
5. Artworks
6. CG Collector
7. help me learning Japan in a very fun ways :blushhappy:

@AoZakura ah same here sama here, my first otome game is TokiMemo Girl's Side First Love too

I started from manga, anime, then trying otome game, and got hooked.
Mostly because :
1. Art and bishie
2. Seiyuu
3. Story
4. And help me learning japanese (self learning)

I like it in sweet story and some have interesting plot too. ^_^

But I just finish some in EN (ex. RE:Alistair) and some in JP with translation tool but it not much good in translate so I start to learn JP to play them in future.

After a couple of months dedicated to Otome games, I have realised that I spend a lot of time stressing over it and making the game work; which causes me so much trouble...

Ugh god, the addiction casted over me.

Aside from the lovely artwork and seiyuu, I like how otome games allow the players to choose which guy to fall in love with xD I guess my interest in otome games came from my dissatisfaction with some of the couples formed in the anime/manga I've seen/read.

TIL that this sub-section exists! Cool.

Admittedly, only for the sake of pursuing fabulous 2D gentlemen and vicariously living through the female protagonist. To be completely honest, I don't think a lot of otome games or bishoujo games have particularly great plots (although there are definitely some that do). But they usually have awesome characters to make up for that. I feel that as the otome game market expands, we'll be seeing a lot more great titles, which may even appeal to guys. There are so many bishoujo games that appeal to both men and women alike (Steins;Gate for one, and even F/SN). I'd like to see that happen with otoge one day. :S

Moreover, I'd like to see more nukige-type R18 otome games. Porn without plot. There's no shame to be had with these (IMO). People always assume that women don't like this kind of stuff, sadly. There are lots of horny girls out there (lol). I guess Hadaka Shitsuji counts as nukige (in an extreme form), but it's no otome game. :/

The main reason why I started liking it because of the seiyuus. I knew their works in otome games, so I was curious, ended up playing it and become addicted to it until now.

I've to agree with this. My deepest desires.

the reason why i like otome games/bl games is mainly because of the seiyuu lol + having great art is a plus. Actually the art doesn't have to be that great yet if it has a great seiyuu cast and great story, I'm still for it! :D

Although I've only been playing since last year (2012), I started playing otoge because I liked having the option of getting together with more than one guy within a story :)...which was different watching romance movies and definitely different from playing jrpgs. I still play jrpgs, but when I'm tired of grinding, battling, and in the mood for more getting together with a bishie I know I have an outlet. So, the reasons why I like playing are:

1. Bishie
2. Seiyuus
3. Learning Japanese
4. Art/story

As kapekape said,..."ended up playing it and become addicted to it until now."

I've been playing otome games since 2 years ago. It was because my aniki (yea, aniki) introduced me to otome games world. He said I will like it, and I did, up until now X'D
But still I need to be selective of playing otome games, since there are many otome games with boring ( or maybe awful) plots these days :|

And the main reasons I love playing otome games are :
1. Bishie!
2. Seiyuu
3. Artworks and the illustrator
4. Learning Japanese
5. The happy feeling when you meet people who likes otome games and fangirling with them like crazy :runhappy:

Well, I love otome games simply because:

1.I could say goodbye to the hateful 3d world
2.I have my perfect husbandooo
3.There no other people that care about me more than my yandere osananajimis and onii-samas :traitor:
4.I could flirt with seiyuu idols >/////<
5.The art (but not the blindingly disgusting r-18 porn otome game cgs)
